A Chessboard Drenched In Blood

Pepe Escobar
Asia Times

"The intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy." Everyone remembers the Downing Street Memo, which unveiled the Bush/Blair "policy" in the run-up to the 2003 bombing/invasion/occupation of Iraq. The "policy" was to get rid of Saddam Hussein via a lightning war. The justification was "terrorism" and (non-existent) weapons of mass destruction (WMD), which had "disappeared", mounted in trucks, deep into Syria. Forget about intelligence and facts.

The tragedy of MH17 - turned, incidentally, into a WMD - might be seen as a warped rerun of imperial policy in Iraq. No need for a memo this time. The "policy" of the Empire of Chaos is clear, and multi-pronged; diversify the "pivot to Asia" by establishing a beachhead in Ukraine to sabotage trade between Europe and Russia; expand the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to Ukraine; break the Russia-China strategic partnership; prevent by all means the trade/economic integration of Eurasia, from the Russia-Germany partnership to the New Silk Roads converging from China to the Ruhr; keep Europe under US hegemony.

The key reason why Russian President Vladimir Putin did not "invade" Eastern Ukraine - as much as he's been enticed to by Washington/NATO - to stop a US military adviser-facilitated running slaughter of civilians is that he does not want to antagonize the European Union, Russia's top trading partner.

Crucially, Washington's intervention in Kosovo invoking R2P - Responsibility to Protect - was justified at the time for exactly the same reasons a Russian intervention in Donetsk and Luhansk could be totally justified now. Except that Moscow won't do it - because the Kremlin is playing a very long game.

The MH17 tragedy may have been a horrendous mistake. But it may also have been a desperate gambit by the Kiev minions of the Empire of Chaos. By now, Russian intel may have already mastered the key facts. Washington's predictable modus operandi was to shoot from the hip, igniting and in theory winning the spin war, and doubling down by releasing the proverbial army of "top officials" brimming with social media evidence. Moscow will take time to build a meticulous case, and only then lay it out in detail.

Brzezinski has harsh words for Israel, Tells Netanyahu he's 'making a very serious mistake'

CNN

Fareed Zakaria speaks with former U.S. National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski about Israel's military operation in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on CNN told Wolf Blitzer that the invasion of Gaza was a strategy to demilitarize Gaza, explaining the use of force. But it has been quite a robust use of force…Do you think that it is going to succeed, the Israeli strategy?
No, I think he is making a very serious mistake. When Hamas in effect accepted the notion of participation in the Palestinian leadership, it in effect acknowledged the determination of that leadership to seek a peaceful solution with Israel. That was a real option. They should have persisted in that.
Instead Netanyahu launched the campaign of defamation against Hamas, seized on the killing of three innocent Israeli kids to immediately charge Hamas with having done it without any evidence, and has used that to stir up public opinion in Israel in order to justify this attack on Gaza, which is so lethal.
I think he is isolating Israel. He's endangering its longer-range future. And I think we ought to make it very clear that this is a course of action which we thoroughly disapprove and which we do not support and which may compel us and the rest of the international community to take some steps of legitimizing Palestinian aspirations perhaps in the U.N.

World of Resistance Report: Financial Institutions Fear Global Revolution

Andrew Gavin Marshall

In Part 1 of the WoR Report, I examined Zbigniew Brzezinski’s warnings to elites around the world of the “global political awakening” of humanity. In Part 2, I looked at the relationship between inequality and social instability, and in Part 3 I examined the World Economic Forum’s warnings of growing inequality and the “lost generation” of youth who pose the greatest threat to oligarchic interests around the world. In this fourth installment in the series, we turn to reports from top banks and financial institutions warning about the growing threats to their interests posed by an increasingly disenfranchised and impoverished population – manifested in protests, strikes and social unrest.
In November of 2011, Bob Diamond, the CEO of one of the world’s largest banks, Barclays, stated in a speech: “We’ve seen violent protests in Greece, public sector strikes across Europe, [and] anti-capitalist demonstrations that started on Wall Street have spread to other places around the world.” Diamond added: “Young people have been especially hit hard by high levels of unemployment. The threat of further social unrest remains if we don’t work together to generate stronger economic growth and more jobs.”

Global Political Awakening: the Threat to the Global Elite and our Hope for the Future

Sabine Kurjo McNeill

It’s been a while since global strategist Zbigniew Brzesinski expressed his fear of ‘global political awakening‘ at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Relations:
No matter where you go, politics is a matter of social engagement.
Mankind is now politically awake.
… history of colonialism and imperialism…
Hence we are preparing a meeting in the House of Commons to “Mind the Gaps: between Online and Mainstream Media, Government and Public” – on Tuesday, Jan. 15th – as the Association of McKenzie Friends acting as ‘Public Interest Advocates’.
Seven panelists will present Seven Deadly Syndromes and Seven Media Cover-Ups for questions and answers by, hopefully, many Parliamentarians.
Please RSVP sabine AT 3d-metrics.com for further details, if you’d like to attend.
If you want to be part of the wake up call, please
Ask yourself questions about this distraction, deception & distortion, beautifully exposed in the UK by The Slog. The author John Ward appeals to the blogosphere to be in opposition to all things Bollocks, as he concludes:
Distortion & deception are the objective, distraction is the catalyst.
Unique in the UK, judges in the secret family courts keep trying to get away with the appearance of lawfulness, while parents express their anger - also in The Guardian – over child snatching which is organised by the State – either for the sex urges of paedophiles, or for money or both…
It’s time to wake up. More and more. With deeper and deeper insights, processing one shock after another…
We can only hope that, together, we will make the difference that is required. One person at a time.
May the Spirit of Christmas help us along, us:
  • as victims of white collar crimes
  • who have turned into starfighters to stand our ground
  • who are helping each other as McKenzie Friends
and have
  • been visiting this site over 180,000 times since its beginning in August 2010
  • over 23,000 times in November 2012
  • and produced 3,890 comments.
May our virtual community be as effective as necessary in real life!
Meanwhile, here are a number of e-petitions that you can sign about the subject:
and here is a model abuse survivor describing what’s happening in US Family Courts: more of the same unfortunately…
Onwards and upwards – against all the odds!

Brzezinski’s Lament

Zbigniew Brzezinski
Adask's Law

Zbigniew Brzezinski is a Democrat who served as America’s 10th National Security Advisor from A.D. 1977 through A.D. 1981 under the Jimmy Carter administration.

It strikes me as unusual, odd, even disturbing that Brzezinski became our National Security Advisor in A.D. 1977 since he’d already published his book Between Two Ages: America’s Role in the Technetronic Era in A.D. 1970.  Why?  Because in that book, he predicted and apparently advocated the control of populations by an elite political class via technetronic manipulation
According to Brzezinski,
“The technetronic era involves the gradual appearance of a more controlled society. Such a society would be dominated by an elite, unrestrained by traditional values. Soon it will be possible to assert almost continuous surveillance over every citizen and maintain up-to-date complete files containing even the most personal information about the citizen. These files will be subject to instantaneous retrieval by the authorities.”
“In the technetronic society the trend would seem to be towards the aggregation of the individual support of millions of uncoordinated citizens, easily within the reach of magnetic and attractive personalities exploiting the latest communications techniques to manipulate emotions and control reason.”

Brzezinski: Obama raid glory escapes Carter fate

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

AFP

WASHINGTON (AFP) - For decades former US national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski has been haunted by the failed hostage rescue in Iran, but this week he relived a new special forces drama -- one that ended with success rather than disaster.

Brzezinski said Friday that the US Navy SEALs mission that killed Al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden in his hideout in Pakistan provided President Barack Obama with a crucial special forces victory that eluded president Jimmy Carter a generation ago.

"In Obama's case had it failed (it) would have been similar" to the debacle that befell Carter, who lost re-election by a landslide in 1980 barely six months after the doomed effort to rescue 52 American hostages at the US embassy in Tehran, Brzezinski told the MSNBC network.

Soros and Brzezinski Talking Thai: International Crisis Group shines spotlight on Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand April 12, 2011 - As International Crisis Group (ICG) member Mohamed ElBaradei wrestles with 80 million Egyptians for control of their country, stooping as low as to threaten war with Israel in a feeble attempt to score political points - his fellow trustees are expressing their ambitions elsewhere, including helping IMF operative Alassane Ouattara butcher his way into office via international armed intervention in the Ivory Coast. They are also fixated on the power struggle disguised as a "democracy movement" in Thailand.

To understand why it is important to consider what the ICG is saying it is important to note that within the ICG, globalist banker George Soros sits as a trustee along with Wesley Clark and Kenneth Adelman, while geopolitical manipulator Zbiginiew Brzezinski and Neo-Conservative Richard Armitage sit in as advisers among many others.

Behind this unsavory convergence of ambition are equally unsavory corporate and foundation sponsors including the Carnegie Corporation of New York, Open Society Institute, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank Group, Soros Fund Management LLC, Chevron, and Royal Dutch Shell. In Thailand's case in particular the political upheaval centers around one multinational corporate-backed billionaire, Thaksin Shinwatra who tried and failed to ramrod through a US-Thai FTA before being ushered out of power in 2006. Many of the corporations that stood to gain from the US-Thai FTA (listed here on page 8) are also well involved in the many groups not only still supporting Thaksin's bid for power, but an entire global agenda of military and economic hegemony.

VIDEO: Brzezinski’s Feared “Global Awakening” Has Arrived

Monumental worldwide rallying cry for freedom threatens to derail new world order agenda

by Paul Joseph Watson
GLOBAL RESEARCH

Zbigniew Brzezinski’s much feared “global political awakening” is in full swing. Revolts in Egypt, Yemen, Tunisia and other countries represent a truly monumental worldwide rallying cry for freedom that threatens to immeasurably damage the agenda for one world government, but only if the successful revolutionaries can prevent themselves from being co-opted by a paranoid and desperate global elite.

During a Council on Foreign Relations speech in Montreal last year, co-founder with David Rockefeller of the Trilateral Commission and regular Bilderberg attendee Zbigniew Brzezinski warned of a “global political awakening,” mainly comprising of younger people in developing states, that threatened to topple the existing international order.

Reading the full extent of Brzezinski’s words in light of the global revolts that we now see spreading like wildfire across the planet provides an astounding insight into how crucially important the outcome of this phase of modern history will be to the future geopolitical course of the world, and in turn the survival and growth of human freedom in general.
For the first time in human history almost all of humanity is politically activated, politically conscious and politically interactive… The resulting global political activism is generating a surge in the quest for personal dignity, cultural respect and economic opportunity in a world painfully scarred by memories of centuries-long alien colonial or imperial domination… The worldwide yearning for human dignity is the central challenge inherent in the phenomenon of global political awakening… That awakening is socially massive and politically radicalizing… The nearly universal access to radio, television and increasingly the Internet is creating a community of shared perceptions and envy that can be galvanized and channeled by demagogic political or religious passions. These energies transcend sovereign borders and pose a challenge both to existing states as well as to the existing global hierarchy, on top of which America still perches…

The youth of the Third World are particularly restless and resentful. The demographic revolution they embody is thus a political time-bomb, as well… Their potential revolutionary spearhead is likely to emerge from among the scores of millions of students concentrated in the often intellectually dubious “tertiary level” educational institutions of developing countries. Depending on the definition of the tertiary educational level, there are currently worldwide between 80 and 130 million “college” students. Typically originating from the socially insecure lower middle class and inflamed by a sense of social outrage, these millions of students are revolutionaries-in-waiting, already semi-mobilized in large congregations, connected by the Internet and pre-positioned for a replay on a larger scale of what transpired years earlier in Mexico City or in Tiananmen Square. Their physical energy and emotional frustration is just waiting to be triggered by a cause, or a faith, or a hatred…

[The] major world powers, new and old, also face a novel reality: while the lethality of their military might is greater than ever, their capacity to impose control over the politically awakened masses of the world is at a historic low. To put it bluntly: in earlier times, it was easier to control one million people than to physically kill one million people; today, it is infinitely easier to kill one million people than to control one million people.

Zbigniew Brzezinski
It is important to stress that Brzezinski was not lauding the onset of this “global political awakening,” he was decrying it. As one of the of the chief architects of the “existing global hierarchy” to which he makes reference, Brzezinski himself is under direct threat, as is the continuing ability of the global elite in general to control world affairs.

Brzezinski laments the fact that the Internet has made it almost impossible for the global elite to control the political environment, to control the thoughts and behavior of one million people, which is precisely why Egypt moved to shut down the world wide web yesterday in a desperate bid to prevent activists from organizing against the state.

As is routine whenever riots and revolutions suddenly appear as if out of nowhere, history warns us to not take what we see at face value, and to recall the numerous contrived “color revolutions” that have served little purpose other than to allow the IMF/World Bank global elite to overthrow a rogue power and seize the country via the backdoor through puppet regimes it subsequently installs.

However, the domino-like effect of the global revolution that has accelerated in recent weeks seems to be born out of a genuine, grass roots, organic yearning for real freedom, and an end to dictatorial regimes that the United States and the banking elite have helped to prop up.

The global revolt spreading across the Middle East and North Africa, having already touched Europe with the riots and strikes in Italy, France, Greece and the United Kingdom last year, is characterized as a backlash against dictatorship, police brutality, and political repression. These factors have been seething undercurrents of resentment for years, but only thanks to greater education and easier access to information and the ability to organize through the Internet has a new generation of activists finally said enough is enough. Spiraling food prices, fuel inflation, lower wages and high unemployment have also played a central role.

As Andrew Gavin Marshall writes in his excellent article, Are We Witnessing the Start of a Global Revolution?, “We must not cast aside these protests and uprisings as being instigated by the West, but rather that they emerged organically, and the West is subsequently attempting to co-opt and control the emerging movements.”

In the case of Egypt, Yemen and Tunisia, all three regimes have enjoyed the multi-decade support of the US military-industrial complex. All three were fully compliant vassal states for the new world order. There was no need for contrived or staged “color revolutions” to be prompted by the global elite in these countries.

Indeed, the die was cast when the Obama administration expressed its support for 30 year dictator Hosni Mubarak in the form of a PBS interview yesterday when Vice-President Joe Biden implied that the protesters demands were illegitimate.
“The reflex action of the imperial powers is to further arm and support the oppressive regimes, as well as the potential to organize a destabilization through covert operations or open warfare (as is being done in Yemen),” writes Marshall. “The alternative is to undertake a strategy of “democratization” in which Western NGOs, aid agencies and civil society organizations establish strong contacts and relationships with the domestic civil society in these regions and nations. The objective of this strategy is to organize, fund and help direct the domestic civil society to produce a democratic system made in the image of the West, and thus maintain continuity in the international hierarchy. Essentially, the project of “democratization” implies creating the outward visible constructs of a democratic state (multi-party elections, active civil society, “independent” media, etc) and yet maintain continuity in subservience to the World Bank, IMF, multinational corporations and Western powers.”
Remember – any country that retains its own sovereignty, acts primarily in its own interests and attempts to build itself up as a strong, prosperous, and culturally strong state is an enemy to the globalists. The international hierarchy demands compliance, dependence, weakness and a dilution of heritage and culture in order for every nation to be enveloped within the sphere of global government control.

Make no mistake about it, we are seeing a global revolution, the age of rage is falling upon us like dominoes reaching to every corner of the planet. Whether or not the outcome will topple the current global hierarchy, as Zbigniew Brzezinski fears, remains to be seen, but it will surely depend upon who controls the new governments that will replace the ousted rulers – the people who started the process of change, or the World Bank, IMF, NGO’s and the rest of the global elite who are desperate to save their world government agenda from being derailed.

Thailand: Stage Set for Another Color Revolution

Tony Cartalucci, Contributing Writer
Activist Post

What happens when the UK's globalist nexus Chatham House, the US's International Crisis Group (ICG) run by George Soros and Zbigniew Brzezinski, lawyers like Robert Amsterdam, and media giants like BBC, CNN, the Guardian, and the Economist get together to back street protests? Color revolution.

The country this time is Thailand. The organization is called the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD). The color, red.

Red as in Marxism; to represent the rhetorical flavor of UDD intelligentsia like Giles "Jai" Ungpakorn. Ungpakorn is a self-confessed Marxist and believes in turning Thailand into a socialist welfare state, the complete redistribution of wealth, and the destruction of Thailand's highly respected, centuries old culture, history and institutions. He published the "Red Siam Manifesto" within which he places his seal of approval on everything from President Obama, to abortion, to solar power, and frequently has his rantings posted on websites like Socialistworker.org.

Red as in Maoism; the chosen ideology of UDD leader Dr. Weng Tojirakarn. Tojirakarn is a Chinese trained Maoist who took part in the failed Communist Party of Thailand's fight during the 1960's. He was recently building up a network of political indoctrination camps throughout Thailand's northeast before taking part in violent UDD riots in April and May of this year. He is now in jail awaiting trial on charges of terrorism.

Red as in a reflection of Thailand's neighbor Cambodia; ravaged by the Khmer Rogue (Red Khmer), ruled by dictator-for-life, Hun Sen, and being emptied out by foreign investors under the cover of a US trained military and eloquent "people's power speeches." Cambodia has long served as a staging ground and refuge for the UDD and in many ways is a look into the future of a "Red Thailand."

And red as in blood in the streets; during April and May of 2010, the Thai military moved in to break up the UDD's protest, in a similar fashion that broke up the same violent protest a year before. Unlike 2009, UDD had provided its protesters with protection from professional mercenaries which assassinated the commanding officer and his command unit and ignited gun battles, arson, looting and rioting that lasted throughout May, killing 92 and injuring over 1,000.

The UDD is a centralized "people's power" movement under the leadership of former prime minister, now fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra and his Peua Thai Party (PTP). Thaksin in turn, is currently represented by international lawyer Robert Amsterdam who is also simultaneously providing lobbying services for the UDD. This provides further evidence that Thaksin and the UDD are a packaged deal and not as "grassroots" as the mainstream media suggests.

Amsterdam's firm, Amsterdam & Peroff holds membership next to the likes of BBC, the Guardian, and the Economist in the Chatham House. When BBC, the Guardian, the Economist, and even the Chatham House itself write articles and papers to support Amsterdam's position and overall "regime change" in Thailand, it should be of no surprise.

For instance, during Thaksin's administration from 2001 -2006 he conducted a brutal "war on drugs." In 3 months, over 2,000 people were killed in the streets via extra-judicial executions. As indefensible as conducting such executions might be, without arrest, charges or trial, the Economist had no problem spinning it around:

On the streets of Khlong Toey, the largest slum in Bangkok, there is nostalgia for Mr Thaksin's iron-fisted drugs policy. The 2003 crackdown drove up prices, smashed trafficking networks and forced addicts into rehabilitation programmes. In drug-ravaged communities, where the ends tend to justify the means, that was enough to turn Mr Thaksin into a hero.
One can only expect as much from the mainstream media. This wasn't the first Economist article to help bolster Thaksin and his globalist backers' cause. It wasn't even a month after Sam Moon(formally of the Economist) was hired by Thaksin in November 2008 as a lobbyist, that the Economist began printing inflammatory articles attacking Thailand's respected monarchy and lending sorely needed legitimacy to the UDD.

Through the mainstream media Robert Amsterdam, Thaksin, and various globalist think tanks like the ICG continue cawing for "international" intervention and mediation, along with elections Thaksin can surely still buy with his political machine, alive and well in Thailand's rural northeast. The globalist media continues portraying the April/May 2010 violence as a one-sided massacre in an attempt to demonize Thailand as an authoritarian dictatorship, while Thaksin and his clique begin to gather protesters for a renewed campaign to seize power. Continued and persistent interest by the globalists in this matter, including their meddling in the mainstream media, and a recent invitation by the US's CSCE, for Thaksin to travel to the US to give "testimony" on human rights and democracy in Thailand, indicate that the color revolution gambit is still on the table.

Like all engineered, globalist backed color revolutions, it certainly is not about democracy or social justice. It is about regime change in favor of a known globalist stooge. It is about using crass demagoguery in order to divide and tear down the strength of a sovereign people. To specifically attack the Thai Monarchy as Giles Ungpakorn and the Economist have is to debase one of the few common grounds all Thais share and have shared for centuries. A divided, infighting nation with a damaged culture makes an easy target for globalist foreign investors who are clamoring at the borders of yet another nation, ready to insert their parasitic probosci and empty the country out.

And while dangers exist within the current Thai government of a slower integration into the globalist collective, the immediate most unhinging threat is a third attempt at reinstalling Thaksin Shinwatra into power on the back of a violent "people's army." What is most unsettling of all, is that the latter is providing a distracting cover for the former.
