Information War Between Russia and the West Intensifies
Steven MacMillanWar is raging between the West and Russia, with a key battlefield being the “war for public opinion” and control over information, narratives and perspectives. The Ukrainian crisis has again reiterated the polar opposite narratives between Western and Russian media as the information war intensifies.
Western news outlets have been incessantly attempting to portray Russia as the belligerent power over the past year, even though many of the facts contradict this perspective. In order to justify an illegal coup in Kiev – which is part of a grander strategy of destabilising, encircling and antagonising the Russian Federation – the presstitutes are hard at work manufacturing narratives and preparing “Americans for conflict with Russia”, as Dr. Paul Craig Roberts wrote in his article: ‘CNN is Beating the Drums of War’. Considering the majority of conflicts in recent years have been initiated by Western intervention or meddling – including the Ukrainian crisis of course – Russian propaganda relies far more on facts, as there is often no need to invert truth to support Moscow’s position.

Russian Crimea: One Year Later
Tony CartalucciNATO calls Crimea “invaded” and “occupied.” NATO has taught the world well what invasion and occupation really looks like, and Crimea isn’t it.
In 2001, NATO invaded and began the occupation of the South-Central Asian country of Afghanistan. The invasion and occupation has left tens of thousands dead, many more displaced, and has resulted in continued chaos and violence up until and including present day. Throughout the conflict, revelations of abuses, mass murder, and other atrocities including systematic torture have been exposed, perpetrated by invading NATO forces and their Afghan collaborators.
The war has also resulted in the use of armed drone aircraft which regularly kill men, women, and children indiscriminately along the Afghan-Pakistani border – a campaign of mass murder ongoing for nearly as long as the conflict has raged.

Is The Nemtsov Murder The First Shot Fired In The Russian Spring?
![]() |
| Source |
With the recent assassination of Russian opposition figure, Boris Nemtsov, both Russia and the world seem to yet again be standing at the edge of a dangerous precipice. Domestically, Russia must now contend with the turmoil that results any time a high profile political assassination takes place.
Internationally, however, the killing of Nemtsov represents the possibility of a dangerous escalation in international relations since, at best, Western powers will undoubtedly seize upon the assassination as an opportunity to blame Putin directly and paint the Russian President as the next Adolf Hitler. At worst, however, the assassination of Nemtsov may be the fruit of NATO destabilization tactics in the form of a false flag committed for the purposes of initiating a color revolution and/or other forms of internal disruption in Russia.
Nemtsov, was apparently shot four times in the back as he was crossing a bridge in Moscow. It is unclear as to the exact location of Nemtsov’s death but reports claim that the bridge was in sight of the Kremlin.

Russia: US-Backed Opposition Leader Gunned Down in Moscow
Tony CartalucciMartyrdom on demand: if not of use alive, perhaps of use dead?
US-backed opposition groups in Russia have so far failed utterly to produce results. Their transparent subservience to Washington coupled with their distasteful brand of politics has left a rather unpleasant taste in the mouth of most Russians. Each attempt to spread the “virus” of color revolution to Moscow, as US Senator John McCain called it, has failed – and each attempt has fallen progressively flatter.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has never been more popular. His ability to weather serial provocations aimed at Russia by NATO has made him a champion against the perceived growing injustice exacted against the developing world by an increasingly militaristic and exploitative West.
So when US-backed opposition groups in Russia decided to gather again this coming March 1, Sunday, many wondered just exactly what they expected to accomplish.

Dollar Dump Begins: Russia Unloads 20% Of Its Total U.S. Holdings In ONE Month
Mac SlavoEarlier this week John Williams warned that hyperinflation will begin to appear in America sometime in 2015. He noted that, though the dollar is currently strong compared to other fiat money, signs that a currency collapse is coming will begin with the sell-off of the U.S. dollar.
It’s a known fact that the Russians and Chinese have already begun divesting themselves of dollar dependency by implementing trade agreements that completely sidestep the world’s reserve currency, but there has been no overt sign of a sell-off that might be indicative of a coming attack on our currency.
Until now, that is.

Ukraine Ceasefire Holds; NATO and Its Fascists Desire To Shake It Loose
![]() |
| Source |
The fragile ceasefire deal constructed by Russia, France, Germany, and the reluctant Ukrainian Fascist government appears to be holding itself together even after fighting in the contested city of Debaltseve continued days after the deadline for an end to active hostilities had passed.
Late as it may be, the sound of shelling and gunfire was largely silenced in Debaltseve as Ukrainian Fascist forces began exiting the city – whether willingly or otherwise.
The separatist forces have claimed that the Ukrainian forces stationed in Debaltseve had finally begun the process of surrendering en masse. Eduard Basurin, a military spokesman for the separatists, confirmed the taking of 300 Ukrainian military soldiers as prisoner while another senior official in the Donetsk People’s Republic stated that Ukrainian soldiers were “laying down their arms‘in their hundreds.’”
The Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, however, has downplayed the retreat, stating that he had ordered a complete withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from Debaltseve as a means to keep to the terms of the ceasefire agreement. Poroshenko made no mention of why he made these orders two days after the deadline.

Ukraine sends Senate old AP photos as proof of “Russian military presence”
By RT America
The US Senate Arms Service committee is on the defensive after it’s emerged that members of the Ukraine parliament presented them with 7-year-old pictures showing a current Russian 'military presence' in the region. As Congress pushed for more military action, the photo’s were being used as a justification of force on the part of the US. RT’s Lizze Phelan reports.

Global Hegemony in the Guise of “Collective Defense”
Tony CartalucciChief among the stated reasons the United States has decided to arbitrate the future of Ukraine for its citizens, is the grave danger Russia allegedly poses not only to Kiev, but to Europe and the rest of the world. This despite the fact that it was the US which facilitated violent protests that eventually overthrew the elected government of Ukraine in 2013-2014 in the first place, leading directly to the war now unfolding in the heart of Eastern Europe.
It was not long ago that another ambitious power cited Russia as a threat and invoked “collective defense” to justify what would become a contest between nations leaving tens of millions dead and entire countries in ruins.

Dutch MH17 Investigation Omits US “Intel”
Tony CartalucciThe absence of America’s so-called “intelligence” regarding the downing of Malaysia Airlines MH17 over Ukraine in a 34-page Dutch Safety Board preliminary report raises serious questions about the credibility and legitimacy of both America’s political agenda, and all agencies, organizations, and political parties currently behind it.
The report titled, "Preliminary Report: Crash involving Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777-200 flight MH17" (.pdf), cites a wide variety of evidence in its attempt to determine the cause of flight MH17's crash and to prevent similar accidents or incidents from occurring again in the future. Among this evidence includes the cockpit voice recorder (CVR), the flight data recorder (FDR), analysis of recorded air traffic control (ATC) surveillance data and radio communication, analysis of the meteorological circumstances, forensic examination of the wreckage (if recovered and possible foreign objects if found), results of the pathological investigation, and analysis of the in-flight break up sequence.

Phantom Tanks and the Desperation of Kiev

| "Humanitarian Aid" - Anthony Freda Art |
Caleb Maupin
How many times have we seen this before?
The President of the United States is on TV telling us horror stories. Some innocent people in some corner of the world are being crushed, he tells us. They face some monstrously evil oppressor, he says. While the United States doesn’t like war, what choice is there? Sacrifices must be made, cruise missiles must be unleashed, to protect the poor and innocent. The world is the set of an action movie, and the US is the tragic hero, forced to rescue the innocent.
This is the script we heard in former Yugoslavia. Bill Clinton claimed to be stopping “mass rapes” and “concentration camps.” After the smoke had cleared, and thousands had been killed, the truth came out. The United Nations admitted that no “genocide” had taken place. The talk of mass rapes and concentration camps had been hype.

Talk Of Nuclear War Over Ukraine Beginning To Surface In Mainstream Media
![]() |
| Anthony Freda Art |
Until now, the talk of nuclear warfare between the United States and Russia has been confined to prescient and observant researchers largely operating within the alternative media. Western media outlets, while attempting to Portray Putin as the new Hitler and Russia as a provocateur, still attempt to paint a picture of a winnable confrontation between the two superpowers. Indeed, Western media outlets along with opportunistic politicians are attempting to nurture anti-Russian sentiment amongst the American people who, unfortunately, have no real sense of the consequences of military action.
Thus, when researchers warn of the dangers of nuclear war, Americans are conditioned to ignore these warnings. Nuclear war would never happen, they think. The powers-that-be would never allow it. Only conspiracy theorists and paranoids would concern themselves with the possibility that major leaders might actually ignite the world in a nuclear holocaust.
Unfortunately, such an outlook on the current state of geopolitics is simply naive.
Russia Negotiates Ceasefire In Ukraine: NATO Responds With Troops, Warships, and Sanctions
![]() |
Only hours after Russian President Vladmir Putin managed to secure a fragile ceasefire between the Western-backed fascist regime in Kiev and the Russian-backed separatists in Eastern Ukraine, NATO has rewarded Russia's efforts by shipping NATO soldiers into Western Ukraine, increasing the number of NATO navy vessels in the Black Sea, and leveling new sanctions against Moscow.
According to Reuters, Western Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and one of the main separatist leaders of Eastern Ukraine have agreed to order ceasefires on Friday, pending that an agreement is made on a new peace plan.

The Undoing of US “Interventionism?”
Tony CartalucciRussian journalist Andrey Stenin, missing for a month in Ukraine, has been confirmed dead. He was part of a convoy of refugees fleeing the fighting in Ukraine’s eastern region when he came under artillery fire. The vehicle he was in, along with several others, was destroyed, the occupants killed, and the evidence covered up. Officers representing the regime in Kiev had apparently rifled through the destroyed vehicles beforehand, collecting evidence and looting belongings.
It is even suggested by Russian sources that the regime in Kiev attempted to use Stenin as a bargaining chip during negotiations, giving the illusion the missing journalist was still alive. Killed by NATO-backed Neo-Nazi extremists who seized power in Kiev during the US-EU engineered so-called “Euromaidan,” the subsequent civilian and journalist deaths are nothing less than provocative crimes.
Meanwhile, within the nebulous territory of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), two American journalists have also been purportedly killed – allegedly executed by ISIS terrorists. Despite even many Western sources admitting the execution video of American journalist James Foley was staged, and with the latest video depicting Steven Sotloff’s execution featuring the same fictional executioner, at the same location, using the same props, the hysteria and justification for direct US military intervention in Syria has reached a fever pitch.
ISIS to the Rescue
Amid NATO's failures in Ukraine, America's terrorist mercenaries threaten war with Russia.
Tony CartalucciAs the crisis in Ukraine continues to fare poorly for Kiev and its NATO-backers, an "unlikely" ally has emerged - ISIS. Threatening to "liberate" Chechnya and the Caucasus, ISIS would essentially be handing over regions of Russia to its Western and Persian Gulf sponsors. While one would imagine the West would attempt to at least appear to stand in solidarity with Russia in the face of this recent threat, it has instead used the threat to stir fear among Russians, and as leverage against Moscow.
The Fortune 500-funded Carnegie Europe think tank recently published an op-ed titled, "Forget NATO, Russia’s Got Bigger Problems." In it contains astounding admissions - that NATO's agenda is expanding itself all along Russia's borders, that "the EU is now in direct competition with Russia over the future of the lands straddling the EU and Russia," and that its plans in Ukraine are in utter disarray.
The op-ed would also leave readers with an unmistakable threat:

Russian-Iranian Relations Strengthen Amidst International Sanctions
Steven MacMillanAs the sanctions against the Russian government continue to be implemented by Western nations, Moscow has been forced to look to Asia for economic and strategic partnerships. The Kremlin has been negotiating significant trade deals with two giants in the region for years now, with the prospect of a new geopolitical reality emerging if Russia, Iran and China continue to forge stronger ties into the future.
At the beginning of August, Russia and Iran signed a historic $20 billion oil deal which will see the two nations enhancing cooperation within the “oil and gas industry”, in addition to strengthening economic collaboration. The deal proposes that Russia will assist Tehran in developing its energy infrastructure along with purchasing Iranian oil, in exchange for Iran importing consumer goods and agriculture products including wheat, leather, pulses and meat. Further talks are set to take place at the Russia-Iran intergovernmental commission meeting in Tehran on September 9-10, which will see the details of the deal cemented.

NATO’s Options in Ukraine
Tony CartalucciAfter provoking what is increasingly a devastating and expanding conflict in Ukraine, NATO appears to be out of options as its proxy regime loses its grip on both its military campaign against its own population in eastern Ukraine, as well as political control in the capital of Kiev itself. However, despite the turn of events, with NATO apparently rudderless, those seeking to undo and reserve the damage the West has created in Eastern Europe must not become complacent.
NATO still possesses several options with which it can respond to its deteriorating proxy regime and the eroding of its interests both in the region, and around the world.

NATO Membership For Ukraine – Another Move On The Grand Chessboard
![]() |
As the geopolitical tug of war continues to take place over the ravaged country of Ukraine, both sides of the conflict – NATO and Russia – have begun taking steps toward a more solidified structure of alliances that will no doubt have massive reverberations across the world and possibly lead to direct confrontation between nuclear powers.
Indeed, as further evidence that the Western NATO bloc desires an ultimate conflict with Russia and the BRICS powers, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen has indicated that Ukraine is firmly on the path to become an eventual member of the NATO alliance.
Simultaneously, West Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseny Yatseniyuk submitted a bill to the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada that would cancel Ukraine’s “non-aligned” status and restart Ukraine’s official attempt to become a member of NATO.
Is St. Petersburg the Venue for a Western Sponsored Color Revolution in Russia?
Steven MacMillanThe announcement by Barack Obama on July 31st to appoint John F. Tefft as the new U.S. ambassador to Russia is a warning to the Russian government of the intentions of Western foreign policy planners. Tefft, who has worked for the State Department and the National War College in Washington, is an expert at planning color revolutions to overthrow regimes targeted by the Western elite. He is the former U.S. ambassador to Ukraine where he was a key architect in preparing the Washington orchestrated coup in Kiev.
Color revolutions are based upon a fusion of the Rand Corporations “swarming” technique invented in the 1960s and Professor Gene Sharp’s guide to nonviolent struggle in the 1990s.
