Mind Control in American Politics

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism. The disorders and miseries which result gradually incline the minds of men to seek security and repose in the absolute power of an individual; and sooner or later the chief of some prevailing faction, more able or more fortunate than his competitors, turns this disposition to the purposes of his own elevation, on the ruins of public liberty.
 --George Washington

There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution.
--John Adams

Our Founders dreaded political parties. They feared that political parties would "lead to formal and permanent despotism" and serve as the greatest "political evil under our Constitution." They clearly warned us that the "disorders and miseries" which result from a system of political parties would cause us to seek peace and security in the absolute power of an individual.

A tyrannical individual, King George, III, once exerted his rule over America. His peace and security came with oppression, but our Founders fought a war for independence to sever that association. Our Founders were well aware that "power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely." They gave us a Constitution, which was written to prevent despotic rulers from seizing power unto themselves.

Thomas Jefferson, in his draft of the Kentucky Resolutions, explained "[i]n questions of power, then, let no more be heard of confidence in man, but bind him down from mischief by the chains of the Constitution." Can we honestly say that our contemporary elected representatives, comprised of Democrats and Republicans, in Washington, D.C., are bound from their mischievous actions "by the chains of the Constitution"? No, it appears that the chains have been broken.

The Constitution is not a self-enforcing document. John Adams told us that "[o]ur Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." Could it be true that the American people are no longer a moral and religious people, and that is why we have elected representatives and senators in the Congress passing unconstitutional legislation, a president authorizing unconstitutional executive orders and a supreme court looking to and utilizing foreign law in rendering its opinions?

Truly, the issue is not about Democrats or Republicans, liberals or conservatives or left wing verses right wing. What it is really about is right verses wrong. The Bible explains in Proverbs 29:2 that "when the righteous are in authority the people rejoice, but when the wicked rule the people groan." Is our country rejoicing or groaning? The next question for us to ask is who put them in office? Dare I say it was "We the People"?

The American Corporate Party and the Derailing of Revolution

Dees Illustration
Brandon Turbeville

As the Presidential campaigns begin to heat up, it is thoroughly apparent that the vast majority of Americans will once again fall into the trap of political bickering, party affiliation, and personality cults.

One only needs to talk with their friends and family, watch social media sites, or listen to the callers of talk radio to understand that 2012 will be yet one more year where the populace is further divided and conquered by a force that spans both political parties.

Although the reason for the effectiveness of the steam valve known in the United States as elections goes much deeper than the mere greed and corruption of political parties and the complicity of the mainstream media, the fact is that, if we are to avoid a repeat of every other election year in American history and a continued dominance of the status quo, the American people must soon take drastic steps to ensure it.

This, however, is much easier said than done. Most Americans are not truly aware of the levels to which they are controlled as pawns on the political chessboard, much less the lengths to which they are controlled in their culture and personal lives. Yet, even those individuals who are largely awake to the forces directing society are both consistently and easily pulled back into the counterproductive game of political debate and supporting candidates whose best description by their supporters can only be that they are “the lesser of two evils.” Thus, individuals who are aware of larger conspiracies regarding 9/11, world government, Zionism, corporate finance oligarchy, and many others are caught in a web of pointlessly defending a candidate who is wholly owned by the very forces they seek to overthrow.

Are You Better Off? 40 Statistics That Will Absolutely Shock You

KickThemAllOut.com
Michael Snyder, Contributor

Are you better off today than you were four years ago? This is a question that comes up nearly every election. This year the Romney campaign has even created a Twitter hashtag for it: #AreYouBetterOff. The Democrats are making lots of speeches claiming that we are better off, and the Republicans are making lots of speeches claiming that we are not. So are most Americans actually better off than they were four years ago? Of course not.

One recent poll found that only 20 percent of Americans believe that they are better off financially than they were four years ago. But the same thing was true four years ago as well. Our economy has been in decline and the middle class has been shrinking for a very long time. The Democrats want to put all of the blame on the Republicans for this, and the Republicans want to put all of the blame on the Democrats for this. A recent CNN headline defiantly declared the following: "Decline of middle class not Obama's fault", and this is the kind of thing we are going to hear day after day until the election in November. But obviously something has gone fundamentally wrong with our economy. So who should we blame?

Sadly, you hear very little on the mainstream news networks or the talk radio shows about the institution that has the most power over our economy. The Federal Reserve has far more power over our financial system than anyone else does, but the media and both political parties tell us that the Federal Reserve is "above politics" and that their "independence" must never be questioned.

How Did This Happen? Lies – Left and Right, A Story of Disillusionment

I’ve had it.

When I was a young adult, I lived in a yellow dog county in East Texas where you had to register Democrat if you wanted to vote in the primaries – because in those days there were no Republicans running. It was a massive, one party, political machine.

Eventually, I moved away and with a sense of glee I went to the courthouse and registered Republican. I was convinced, in those heady days of my youth, that the Republican party was the party of fiscal conservatism and personal liberty.

I knew in my heart that if I didn’t vote the “right” way, that losing the 2nd and 4th Amendments to the U.S. Constitution was an inescapable inevitability.

I remember when talk radio was just getting started. I tuned in and listened close. I was enchanted by the idea that, finally, the truth could now be let loose and freedom would win out over the tyranny of the left.

2012 US Elections -- Obamney vs. Rombama: What Should We Do About It?

War, economic collapse, and personal devastation await Americans no matter who they vote for - and what we should do instead.

freakingnews.com
Tony Cartalucci, Contributor

A vote for Obama will bring war with Syria, Iran, and eventually Russia and China. The economy will continue to suffer in order to bolster the interests of off-shore corporate-financier interests, while the collective prospects of Americans continue to whither and blow away. A vote for Romney, however, will also bring war with Syria, Iran, and eventually Russia and China. The economy will also continue to suffer in order to bolster the interests of off-shore corporate-financier interests, while the collective prospects of Americans continue to whither and blow away. Why?

Because the White House is but a public relations front for the corporate-financier interests of Wall Street and London. A change of residence at the White House is no different than say, British Petroleum replacing its spokesman to superficially placate public opinion; when, in reality, the exact same board of directors, overall agenda, and objectives remain firmly in place. Public perception then is managed by, not the primary motivation of, corporate-financier interests.

It is the absolute folly to believe that multi-billion dollar corporate-financier interests would subject their collective fate to the whims of the ignorant, uninformed, and essentially powerless voting masses every four years. Instead, what plays out every four years is theater designed to give the general public the illusion that they have some means of addressing their grievances without actually ever changing the prevailing balance of power in any meaningful way.

The Dispossessed Majority

Anthony Freda Art
Paul Craig Roberts, Contributor
Activist Post

The bumper sticker on the beat-up pickup truck read: “Friends don’t let friends vote Democrat.” The driver was obviously not affluent. Yet, despite all the news about mega-trillion dollar bankster bailouts, mega-million dollar bonuses for financial crooks, and unimaginable compensation packages for corporate CEOs who have moved middle class jobs out of America, something made the down-and-out pickup truck driver associate with the political party of the super-rich.

As I wondered at this strange alliance of the dirt poor with the mega-rich, I remembered that in 2004 Thomas Frank wondered about how the Republicans had managed to convince the poor to vote against their best interests. Frank’s answer, or part of his answer, is that the Republicans use “social issues,” such as gay marriage and Janet Jackson’s exposed nipple to work up indignation over the threat to moral values posed by liberal Democrats.

The working poor have been convinced by Republican propaganda that voting Democrat means giving the working poor’s tax dollars to the non-working poor, to providing medical care and schooling for illegal aliens, and being soft on terrorism. To the pick-up truck driver, standing up for America means standing up for bankster bailouts and the military/security complex’s multi-trillion dollar wars.

John McCain, Imperialist

McCain's treasonous trip to Benghazi, Libya
Tony Cartalucci, Contributing Writer
Activist Post

"Senator" John McCain is a traitor in every sense of the word. He is a man who has overtly divorced himself from the US Constitution (see also: McCain's support for the Patriot Act) he has sworn an oath to defend, first as a Navy pilot, then as a Senator. He consorts with, lobbies for, and procures money and resources for real terrorists while citing battalions of fictitious bearded men to justify his numerous transgressions against America's Bill of Rights. When John McCain isn't literally shaking the hands of terrorists in Benghazi, fresh back from Iraq and Afghanistan with American blood on their hands, he is berating Americans who believe US imperialism must end.

CNN's article, "McCain slams GOP hopefuls' 'isolationism'" is a profile of astounding servile obedience to the corporate interests that craft the agenda he attempts to foist upon the American people on a daily basis. In the article McCain claims, "We cannot repeat the lessons of the 1930s, when the United States of America stood by while bad things happened in the world." In reality, the "bad things" happening in the world now are a direct result of men like McCain, the organizations he is complicit with, the imperial networks and governments they are attempting to sow throughout the world and the inevitable violence that has ensued as nations resist yet another parasitic empire as it attempts to spread across the surface of the planet.

Vision: An Antiwar Movement That Puts Peace Over Politicians

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
Instead of continuing the hard work of protesting unjust wars, too many people took the election of politicians with "D"s after their name as their own Mission Accomplished.

After campaigning as the candidate of change, the man awarded a Nobel Prize for peace has given the world nothing but more war. Yet despite Barack Obama's continuation – nay, escalation – of the worst aspects of George W. Bush's foreign policy, including his very own illegal war in Libya, you’d be hard-pressed to find the large-scale protests and outrage from the liberal establishment that characterized his predecessor's reign (and only seems to pop up when a Republican's the one dropping the bombs).

That's not for a lack of things to protest. Since taking office, Obama has doubled the number of troops in Afghanistan and now looks set to break his pledge to begin a significant withdrawal in July. He has unilaterally committed the nation to an unapologetically illegal war in Libya and in two years has authorized more drone strikes in Pakistan than his predecessor authorized in two terms, with one in three of their victims reportedly civilians. In Yemen, he has targeted a U.S. citizen for assassination and approved a cluster bomb strike that, according to Amnesty International, killed 35 innocent women and children.

From Liberal to Libertarian: Bush, Obama and the Final Bubble

Introduction: Ideas and Change

America’s once vibrant Republic has morphed into an imperial oligarchy. The regime has weaved a new dogma preached faithfully by pundits and politicians of both parties. As that dogma crumbles in the face an impending economic collapse, the vast majority of citizens will be left in an ideological vacuum.

Palin or Obama, Fox or CNN, The Drudge Report or The Huffington Post; they simply affirm to their followers and viewers different shades of the same worldview. From within this paradigm it’s impossible to grasp the enormous manipulation and dysfunction that besets the nation. In the past there was sufficient diversity of ideas within the mainstream to offer adequate solutions for the challenges of the time. This is no longer the case.

A Liberal Democrat

Born in the late 1960s, Cold War mythology was very real. The Soviets were bad, the West was good yet the echoes of Vietnam left a crack in the armor of the ‘noble’ United States. Nonetheless, FDR saved the nation and American GI’s saved the world. Government was good, if not perfect. It protected us from Nazis, Communists as well as from the greed and ruthlessness of bankers, oil men, and dirty tricks. The Left was for civil rights, workers rights and sympathized with the plight of the poor.

The Heavy Cost of the Bush-Obama Murder Rampage

Dees Illustration
Anthony Gregory
Lew Rockwell

In every election cycle, the politicians love to pretend there is a difference among them on the foreign policy questions. Yet on these issues of unsurpassed importance, we see the Democrats and Republicans are all part of the same bloodthirsty gang.

On the superficial level of presidential politics, Obama and Bush appeared light-years apart. They play opposites in the DC-approved official culture war between those who pretend to be genuine red-blooded Americans of the heartland and those who feign an understanding of the beleaguered urban minorities and oppressed underclass, when in truth both perfectly embody the same Wall Street-Pentagon-friendly power elite. This is most clearly seen in their virtually identical approach toward empire.
