The 3D Printed Firearm Has Been Taken to the Next Level

Joshua Krause

When Cody Wilson unveiled the first 3D printed firearm in 2012, it was earth-shattering news. Even though the gun had limited practical applications in the real world, it was still an incredibly novel concept with huge implications for the future. Since that time, several additional homemade firearm designs have caused both outrage and adoration from the public, especially in regards to 3D printed AR lowers.

However, it seems like the whole 3D printing scene has cooled off a bit. It’s a little under the radar now. People are getting used to the concept, and as the technology continues to make progress you’d be hard pressed to find as many sensationalist headlines as you could before. But rest assured that the movement to manufacture firearms at home is still making waves, as it paves the way for a future where no firearm is out of the reach of a 3D printer.

Toy Guns in America: The 1950s Versus Today

Aaron Dykes & Melissa Melton

Check out this old toy gun commercial from the 1950s or '60s and compare it to how children who play with toy guns (or even their own food or fingers fashioned like a gun) are treated today. Do you think kids today are going to want to uphold their 2nd Amendment rights after they are terrorized and suspended or expelled by their schools for chewing a breakfast tart into an L-shape or being forced at age five to undergo a psych eval for bringing a Hello Kitty bubble gun to class?

Others not included here are a kid who was suspended for having gun wallpaper on his school computer, and A DEAF THREE-YEAR-OLD named Hunter whose school told his parents that when he spelled his own name in sign language, it looked too much like a gun, so they wanted the parents to change the sign for their child's name. (Yes. Apparently that actually happened.)

Open Carry Activist Defeats 6 Police Officers with the Constitution (WATCH)

Every Friday we go out and exercise our right to free assembly and protest the government. We call it #ForLibertyFridays. Usually we gather on a street corner during rush hour traffic and waive signs and flags. Some of us open carry rifles and side arms too. We have never had any problems whatsoever from the police or sheriff, who have always known the laws, and only treated us with respect.

Today I decided just to stay in front of my house in Rochester Hills instead of our usual location. I was outside with my rifle and my Gadsden "don't tread of me" flag how I usually do. After about 15 minutes of doing this was when the first officer (and the 5 other cars right after) rolled up on me, and demanded that I put my rifle down and walk over to him. The he began yelling on the loudspeaker "not to point the gun at him", when I absolutely certainly did not and it facing the ground. I stood there until he told me not to create a "Bad Situation" and un-holstered his weapon. I felt threatened and didn't want to risk this cop who probably watches too many crime shows to shoot me in the back. I laid my gun down on the ground, while showing my him hands (one hand holding my smartphone) and then walked towards him. He then ordered another officer to seize my rifle that I had set on the ground.

Colorado Apartment's Gun Ban Thrown Out

The question of what is reasonable under HOA regulations seems to have been answered, at least in the case of The Douglas County Housing Partnership and their reversal of a policy that was set to be imposed by Ross Management Group.

An emergency meeting of the housing authority was called in the wake of the outcry following a new notice to Oakwood Apartments in Castle Rock, Colorado which stipulated that owners would no longer be permitted to have guns in their residence as of October 1, 2013. (Source).

The notice enraged tenants like retired Marine, Art Dorch, who originally contacted 9News to report the memo given to his community of seniors. Despite the initial statement by the management group that they would not respond to the press, it appears that The Douglas County Housing Partnership is doing it for them.

Obama to "Tweak" Health Privacy Laws to Disarm Americans

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
Eric Blair

Is there a conspiracy to label Americans with a mental illness in order to disarm them?

Since the tragic mass shootings in Aurora, Colorado and Newtown, Connecticut, strong lines were drawn in the gun debate, yet most tend to agree that improving access to "mental health" should be part of any gun control discussion.

It makes sense to the general public since all mass shooters are clearly mentally disturbed and most were found to be on anti-depressants or anti-psychotics. Not everyone who owns guns is mentally disturbed, but every mass shooter is, so let's just stop those people from buying guns, right?

Obama intends to do just that. Reuters reports today that the Obama administration is preparing to "tweak" health privacy laws in order to beef up the number of names on the gun "no buy" list with "people who have received treatment" for mental illnesses.

Bulls Eye: Smith and Wesson Sales Skyrocket: “We Are At Maximum Capacity”

Mac Slavo

Economic growth from the first quarter may have just gone boom as American wages collapse and the prospects for jobs continue to deteriorate, but one industry is breaking records without fail every month.

Firearms manufacturer Smith and Wesson reported a 37% increase in sales year-over-year, with President James Debney noting that demand for product isn’t waning and production capacity is the only bottleneck (so, if they had more manufacturing plants, sales would be even higher).

Larry Pratt Slams Piers Morgan Over “Sham” Gun Control Argument

CNN host is still ludicrously claiming that gun control made England safe, when it is the most violent country in Europe

Gun Owners of America head Larry Pratt re-appeared on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight and proceeded to school Morgan on his ridiculous argument that England, a country with the highest violent crime rate in Europe, was made safe by gun control.
Pratt savaged Morgan’s contention that gun control reduces violent crime and murders, labeling the CNN host’s position a “sham”.
Morgan’s argument that England, a country with a higher violent crime rate than even poverty-stricken South Africa, was made safe by gun control, is patently ludicrous and can be debunked in all manner of different ways.
For a start, Morgan’s claim of only 39 gun murders in England and Wales in 2011 has to be balanced against the fact that top police bodies in England have repeatedly warned that crime figures are being manipulated to reduce the number of recorded crimes and that, “the recorded crime level bore no resemblance to the actual amount of crime being committed.”
A 2000 report from the Inspectorate of Constabulary found that the way England records homicides is completely inaccurate in comparison with the American method and that, “With such differences in reporting criteria,comparisons of U.S. homicide rates with British homicide rates is a sham.”
As the Telegraph reported, “the true level of gun crime” (in England) is (still) far higher than the Government admits in official statistics.”

CONFIRMED: Feinstein's Gun Control Legislation Will Ban Most Guns

Activist Post

Just as many Second Amendment advocates have anticipated, gun control legislation being proposed by Senator Feinstein has gone far beyond what has become known as "assault rifles". In fact the proposed law would ban almost every type of semiautomatic gun on the market including handguns and shotguns.

Feinstein is clearly trying to expand the definition of assault weapons to just about every firearm by claiming if they have "high-capacity ammunition feeding devices" then they are "military-style assault weapons".

The following is a summary of the 2013 legislation:

Bans the sale, transfer, importation, or manufacturing of:
  • 120 specifically-named firearms;
  • Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one or more military characteristics; and
  • Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds.
Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by:
  • Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test;
  • Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test; and
  • Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans.
  • Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.

Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by:
  • Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment;
  • Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes; and
  • Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons.
Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act, to include:
  • Background check of owner and any transferee;
  • Type and serial number of the firearm;
  • Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
  • Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law; and
  • Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration.
A .pdf of the bill summary is available here.

Even if this proposed legislation is negotiated down from its current draconian state, the writing is on the wall. The powers that be want to confiscate nearly all weapons from free citizens, while their hired enforcers will continue to have access to them.

U.S Military plans to prevent veteran suicides by taking away their guns

J.G. Vibes

It has long been known that there are more veterans who end up committing suicide than there are who actually die on the battlefield. This fact has been so unsettling for many people in the mainstream because it exposes the true nature of what war is all about. When the people on the front lines are so depressed about what they have seen and what they have been forced to do, it opens up a whole list of questions that people in the US have been running from for over a decade.

As of last month, 270 active-duty service members killed themselves this year alone, and half were from the Army. Instead of targeting the underlying psychological issues and traumatic memories that are pushing veterans towards suicide, the establishment has been putting forward false solutions that just cover up the symptoms, instead of addressing the causal factors behind the depression.

After recent shootings, Americans reject renewed calls for federal gun controls

DALLAS, August 6th, 2012 – After the Aurora, Colorado tragedy law-makers, gun control advocates and media pundits predictably called for tougher federal laws. This reactionary process is reliable: a horrific crime sparks circular blame and the disarmament agenda is exalted.
Within days of the shooting, Rupert Murdoch was tweeting, Michael Moore appealed to emotion and Bill O’Reilly called for federal oversight of “heavy weapons”. The establishment cannot resist exploiting opportunities to promote an anti-firearm platform.
Despite media hysteria, however, the national mood shifted against new federal restrictions. According to Pew, 72% of Republicans, 55% of independents and 27% of Democrats feel protecting gun ownership trumps “controlling guns”.
As American gun ownership hits record highs awareness that “gun control laws” do not keep guns from criminals grows. Sensing this shift, most politicians sprinted from post-Aurora gun control discussions, knowing it was election season poison.
But after ABC reported that Senate Democrats would not introduce new federal laws, notorious gun-grabbers Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) broke ranks.
Without national debate or discussion, an extreme gun control amendment was quietly attached to the controversial Cybersecurity Act of 2012 (S. 3414) or CIPSA. What does gun control have to do with “cybersecurity”? Nothing, but politicians habitually subvert political processes by attaching unrelated measures to avoid alerting constituents.
This “assault weapon ban” would have criminalized popular semi-automatic ammunition magazines and feeding devices exceeding a mere 10 rounds. Hastily written and dangerously vague, the amendment also banned 184 popular firearm models, as well as any new guns with certain features. Millions of America’s 270 million guns used for protection, hunting and recreation would have become illegal to buy, sell and perhaps own.
It was unclear whether citizens would have been forced to surrender private property, which federal agency would enforce the ban or whether losses would be compensated. In response to this brazen rights infringement, citizens bombarded the Capitol Hill call center urging their senators to vote “no” on the Schumer amendment. Last week, CISPA and the attached amendment were defeated in the Senate.
Second Amendment organizations are relieved, but remain vigilant. Federal gun control initiatives are a legislative zombie; regardless how often they are killed, they keep coming back.
