Mayans protest government sponsored apocalypse party and slam “doomsday myth”

The world will not end. It will be transformed. -- Mayan elders.

JG Vibes

For years the Mayans have been fighting against the doomsday myth surrounding the incorrect reading of their ancient calendar. As the date of December 21, 2012 approaches the hype has caused an increasing amount of distress for the indigenous Mayan people, especially with their homeland in Guatemala being turned into a cheap tourist attraction for the coming “apocalypse”.

Just this week, Guatemala’s Mayan people accused the government and state sponsored tour groups of perpetuating the myth that their calendar predicts the end of the world, so they can benefit financially from tourist revenue.

The Culture Ministry of Guatemala is hosting a massive event in Guatemala City, which as many as 90,000 people are expected to attend, all being promoted under the pretext of a “doomsday” celebration.

NJ “Weedman” found not guilty in jury nullification victory

JG Vibes

With few options left for people to protect themselves from the ever growing police state, an old and long forgotten aspect of constitutional law is making a huge comeback, and becoming very popular in cases where people are facing jail time for nonviolent offenses.

This reemerging defense is the act of jury nullification, which is basically the right for any juror to not only judge the facts of the case, but to also actually judge the validity of the law itself. This means that if a jury feels that a defendant is facing an unjust charge they actually have the right to rule in their favor even if they are technically guilty.

Ed Forchion is a medical cannabis user and cancer patient known as the “NJ weedman”. Ed claims dual residency in Pemberton Township, New Jersey and Los Angeles, California. Due to his residency in California he has a prescription for Cannabis and is legally allowed to grow and consume the plant in that state.

Political Prisoner Leah Lynn Plante Released!

JG Vibes

Last week Leah Lynn Plante was arrested and placed in solitary confinement for remaining silent during a grand jury trial. Due to the secrecy of the proceedings, little information has come to light about her or her two friends, Katherine “Kteeo” Olejnik and Matthew Kyle Duran since the story went viral last week.

However, word was just sent out from Leah's supporters that she had been released, although unfortunately her two friends still remain behind bars.

At this point it is unclear how this turn of events has transpired, but it is highly possible that the video that Leah made before she went to jail touched so many people that they felt compelled to write and flood the court with calls. When Leah made the viral video last week, her friends were already in jail and since they didn't appear in the video people who didn't pay close attention or dig deeper into the story may not have realized that she was one of three people caught up in the same mess.

Residents take community protection into their own hands after police dept cuts

Who needs government? Voluntarism works!
JG Vibes

Residents in Josephine County Oregon have taken matters into their own hands, in light of recent police department budget cuts and started their own community protection services to pick up the slack. The population is small, but there is still a lot of ground to cover, the county is larger than the state of Rhode Island.

According to the Associated Press
“Josephine County, population about 83,000, recently lost $12 million in federal timber county subsidies. The jail, sheriff’s patrols, prosecutors, probation officers and juvenile programs have all been drastically cut. The lockup has room for 69 inmates — only enough space for the worst offenders. As a result, theft and burglary suspects are regularly turned loose, only to be picked up later for new crimes.”

Colorado Marijuana legalization has more projected votes than Obama and Romney

Jesse Warren image
J.G. Vibes

The debates may still be on every television channel and the artificially generated hype may be just as heavy as every other election year, but more and more people are starting to see the two major political parties as being just two heads on the same beast.

Just this week Time‘s Mark Halperin published a copy of the 21-page agreement that the Obama and Romney campaigns negotiated establishing the rules for this month’s debates, further exposing the fraud of the electoral system.

People are beginning to understand that fundamental changes need to take place in society for any kind of peace or freedom to be achieved, and that those changes are not going to come from the top down, they can only come from the bottom up. However, there are some states where people have the ability to vote to repeal certain oppressive laws in regards to the drug war, and these measures are actually becoming more popular than the candidates themselves.

New Patent Aims to Prevent 3D Printers From Creating “Restricted Items”

3D printer - Wiki image
JG Vibes

Recently there has been a great deal of controversy over 3D printers and their ability to bypass intrusive government laws and regulations, specifically in the realm of firearms. It seems that the establishment has already been hard at work developing ways in which they can keep a lid on this technology and prevent it from being truly useful to the general population.

As I discussed last week the goal of restricting this technology is to keep industries cartelized and prevent the average person from gaining too much independence through these devices. A new patent, issued this week by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office titled ‘Manufacturing control system’ aims to do just that. Although it was issued this week it was actually filed way back in 2007, so it seems that they have working on this for some time. The patent describes a system where the owners of 3D printers or similar machines will have to obtain authorization before they are allowed to print certain items.

3 Portland activists indefinitely detained for refusing to speak at grand jury hearing

Leah-Lynn Plante
J.G. Vibes

Since late July, three activists have had their lives torn apart by the police and the legal system, simply because they refused to answer any questions in a grand jury case, regarding crimes that they have absolutely no connection to. As of right now, all three are behind bars, with no clue when they will be able to get out.

The most recent to be sent away was Leah-Lynn Plante, this week she repeated the same process that she just watched her room mates go through. After being summoned to speak twice and refusing to speak both times, the prosecutors in the case enacted a legal loophole which waived her 5th amendment right to remain silent. This decision was made for her by the court against her will.

U.S Military plans to prevent veteran suicides by taking away their guns

J.G. Vibes

It has long been known that there are more veterans who end up committing suicide than there are who actually die on the battlefield. This fact has been so unsettling for many people in the mainstream because it exposes the true nature of what war is all about. When the people on the front lines are so depressed about what they have seen and what they have been forced to do, it opens up a whole list of questions that people in the US have been running from for over a decade.

As of last month, 270 active-duty service members killed themselves this year alone, and half were from the Army. Instead of targeting the underlying psychological issues and traumatic memories that are pushing veterans towards suicide, the establishment has been putting forward false solutions that just cover up the symptoms, instead of addressing the causal factors behind the depression.

Informed juror saves marijuana dispensary owner from prison

J.G. Vibes

It was almost jury nullification, but not quite. Jason Andrews is a California Medical Marijuana dispensary owner who provides free cannabis to terminally ill patients, and for the past two years he has been facing state charges on Sales and Trafficking of Marijuana, in a state where medical marijuana is legal. Andrews even has all of the required government licensing, and complies with all of the regulations, his operation is 100% legal.

Earlier this year his case was to be decided in court, and things really weren’t looking good for him. Luckily, there was one juror who was informed about the power of jury nullification, and tried his best to convince the jury to rule in favor of the defense, seeing that the charges against Andrews were not only unjust, but also illegal, even according the state. The other jurors would not comply, but juror 101 stood his ground and refused to allow the rest of the jury to put Andrews away.

Political Profiling of a "constitutionalist" turns simple domestic call into SWAT raid

Dees Illustration
J.G. Vibes

A farming family in Letha, Idaho recently had their house raided and were assaulted by police after a neighbor called the police when overhearing a verbal argument between the husband and wife who owned the house. In any other situation they would have had a simple knock on their door and the police would check in to make sure that no one was being hurt.

However, Marcella Cruz and Michael Gibbons were flagged in the police department’s database as dangerous individuals because one or both of them identified as “constitutionalists”. Due to this identification their simple domestic disturbance call was met with a full on swat raid, with the officers scouring the house for evidence of Marijuana.

The officers ripped Marcella Cruz out of the house, and had both her and Michael on the ground in handcuffs, with guns against their heads. The police found an aquaponics system that was growing tomatoes in an upstairs room of the house and celebrated, thinking that they had found a Marijuana grow operation. Much to their disappointment they were informed that it was obviously tomatoes, since after all, this was a farm house.

Apple and Google spend more money on patents than on research and development

J.G. Vibes

This week the New York Times reported that spending by Apple and Google on patent lawsuits and high dollar patent purchases exceeded spending on research and development of new products. As many are aware, a patent is an exclusive monopoly privilege over an idea, which prevents new upstarts and entrepreneurs from replicating or expanding on already existing ideas. The case against patents and intellectual property of any kind is very strong, and growing in support especially among younger people.

One of the most obvious and compelling points brought forward by opponents of intellectual property is the fact that these monopoly privileges are a disadvantage to the economy and society as a whole because it stifles innovation and guarantees that prices will remain high.

Monopolist Regulation Behind Wikiweapon 3D Printer Repossession

3D Printed Gun Frame
J.G. Vibes

Last week I wrote an article about how Defense Distributed, a new company that planned to help average people create firearms at home with 3D printers had their equipment seized by the manufacturer. When story of the repossession hit the news, there was a great deal of confusion surrounding the legality of Defense Distributed’s Plans and the grounds by which Stratasys, the manufacturer was able to go back on their contract and snatch back the printer.

Upon further investigation it seems that Stratasys actually has no problem with their printers being used to print firearms…well that is as long as you have jumped through all of the correct bureaucratic hoops. Stratasys is actually currently in talks with the Knight’s Armament Company, the makers of the Remington brand and the country’s largest producer of shotguns and rifles.

Drug Squad Raids Suburban Garden, Mistakes Daisies for Pot

J.G. Vibes

As I have explained in many previous articles, the war on drugs is a total fraud and the world would be a lot better off if there were not prohibitions on objects or nonviolent actions. One of the most ridiculous things about the war on drugs, especially in regards to the prohibition of marijuana, is the fact that at the end of the day it’s just a plant. If you really think about it, we have come to a very strange place in society when plants are illegal.

The idea of banning plants looks even more ridiculous when a swat team shows up with a warrant to dig up and confiscate 1624 Daisies that were mistaken for marijuana. Believe it or not, this actually really happened back in July, but news is just now starting to surface that this wasn’t a successful bust. At the time when police were first interviewed Staff Sergeant Wes Houston said that “This is a significant bust, given the size of this operation.” As he greeted reporters he was actually proudly displaying garbage bags full of daises, thinking that he was holding marijuana.

(Can you spot the difference between Marijuana & Montauk daisies?)

New study suggests humans are not naturally violent

J.G. Vibes

A new study published last month in Nature Journalsuggests that humans are naturally good. This study adds to the mounting evidence against the popular misconception that corruption is a trait of human nature.

In ten experiments using economic games, scientists observed that faster decisions result in more cooperation and generosity, while slower, calculated decisions show a decrease in cooperation and generosity. The conclusion is that the automatic reaction is to be friendly, generous and cooperative, and only upon further consideration do humans become greedy or violent.

From the study:
“To explain these results, we propose that cooperation is intuitive because cooperative heuristics are developed in daily life where cooperation is typically advantageous. We then validate predictions generated by this proposed mechanism. Our results provide convergent evidence that intuition supports cooperation in social dilemmas, and that reflection can undermine these cooperative impulses.”

Human Nature: A Self-fulfilling Prophecy?

Peace and happiness is our natural state
J.G. Vibes

If there is one thing that is holding this species back from a world of peace, freedom and abundance it is the idea that destructive behavior is naturally present in human nature. Whenever someone suggests finding peaceful solutions to problems that are currently being “solved” with violence, they are typically told that peaceful interactions just don’t jive with human nature.

It seems that a very negative picture of human nature is ingrained into the social consciousness, but in reality we have no way of truly determining what human nature is, due to the various environmental factors that influence our thoughts and actions.

Many people get their impression of human nature from how others around them behave, and from what they were told about the history of the human species. At face value this approach seems logical, but still overlooks the mass manipulation of the human species that has taken place at the hands of various “authorities” throughout history.

3D Printed Wikiweapon Company Has Equipment Seized

Defense Distributed, a new company that planned to help average people create firearms at home with 3D printershas had their equipment seized by the manufacture after news of their controversial project was picked up by the media.

In an email that Cody Wilson of Defense Distributed received from "Stratasys" the manufacture, he was told that his primary project, Wikiweapon was illegal. A day later contractors hired by the company arrived at Wilson’s apartment in an Enterprise rental van and took the printer, which apparently hadn't even been taken out of the box yet.

There are many technologies that are beginning to emerge in the consumer market that have the potential to radically disrupt the status quo and shift the power balance on this earth in favor of the general population.

Canadian Judge Begins Legal Clampdown on "Freeman" movement

J.G. Vibes

Judge John Rooke the Associate Chief Justice of the Court of Queen’s Bench in Canada has promised to destroy the "Free Man on the Land Movement. In a newly released court decision John Rooke analyzes the movement, which he refers to as “organized pseudolegal commercial argument” or OPCA litigants.

His 185-page analysis of their arguments was posted on the Alberta Justice court website on Thursday. This same judge was in the news not too long ago when he called a rape victim “stupid” during the sentencing of the man who raped her. He then went ahead and only sentenced the rapist to 3 1/2 years in prison.

The Free Man on the Land movement consists of a growing number of people who are beginning to turn the rhetoric and legalese of the state against itself. According to the nationalistic folklore put forward by the courts, people are only ruled because they consent to being ruled, so many of these people are withdrawing their consent from the system.

Raw Milk Co-Op Farmer Acquitted Through Jury Nullification

J.G. Vibes

Last week a Minnesota man charged with violating the state's restrictions on raw milk sales was acquitted in what he and his supporters called a victory for consumer freedom.

Alvin Schlangen is a peaceful farmer who connects people with the food sources that meet their high standards for health by providing private access under lawful ownership of farm animals. the member owners pay the Amish farm family for labor to milk the leased 100% grass-fed cows, manage the pasture, store the feed, etc.

This co-op is a sustainable farming effort where the value of food supports the cost incurred, without government subsidies or harm to the environment. The balance of food options are purchased by the club, for the members. The group has multiple farm sources providing real food to member families- very efficiently, with lots of volunteer effort.

Tesla Motors Launches Revolutionary Supercharger Enabling Free Long Distance Travel

J.G. Vibes

Today Tesla Motors unveiled its highly anticipated Supercharger network, which is said to make long distance travel in cars totally free thanks to the use of solar energy and electricity. So far the network is made up of six Supercharger stations stretching across California, as well as parts of Nevada and Arizona. These stations will allow the Tesla Model S to recharge for free, and each charge is said to last for an extremely long distance. This is so groundbreaking because until now one of the major drawbacks to electric cars was their inability to travel long distances on a single charge.

The charging centers that have opened so far are just the first of many, the company plans to install Superchargers in high traffic corridors across the United States, enabling fast, purely electric travel from Vancouver to San Diego, Miami to Montreal and Los Angeles to New York, all by next year. By 2015, Tesla Motors plans to create more than 100 charging stations across the United States, while also branching out into Europe and Asia.

The Supercharging stations will be twice as fast as any now in use and will be installed at highway rest stops. The rooftop canopy at many of the charging stations will carry a solar array that will place more electricity onto the local power grid, over time, than the cars use. For an undisclosed price there will also be home charging stations that will make local driving more convenient.

Insane Clown Posse Sues FBI over Gang Classificatio

J.G. Vibes

Every year the FBI releases their annual National Gang Threat Assessment, an official memo that lists and describes the gangs and terrorist organizations that the agency has their eye on. The list is usually a mix of legitimately violent gangs, as well as nonviolent activist groups, local community militias and generally anyone who the government doesnt like. Last November the most recent edition of this list caught the attention of the alternative rap group The Insane Clown Posse because their fans were actually featured on this list.

The Insane Clown Posse has a large cult following which refer to themselves as “Juggalos” and wear the merchandise and colors of the group. This is similar to concept behind the “Dead Heads” that followed the Grateful Dead in the 60′s, or the “Kiss Army” of the 70′s.
