Why is the mainstream media still pretending like the case is still being made for arming the TSA, meanwhile the Federal Business Opportunities official government website is filled with agency contracts for TSA agents to train at firing ranges within a certain mile radius of major airports nationwide? And they have been for months now.

We're about to live in a country where we not only have a gestapo at our airports, but they are about to be armed and authorized to use deadly force.

TSA: Keeping Travelers Safe by Inspecting Cars Left in Valet Parking

Now not only does the TSA thoroughly inspect your person and your carry-on bags – they can order an inspection of the car you left behind also.

A New York woman was shocked to return home from a trip to find a notice on her car informing her that it had been searched after her departure from Greater Rochester International Airport.

Apparently, only cars that are valet parked are subject to this treatment. Valet attendants are under orders of the TSA to search the vehicles that are left with them. (Valet attendants are NOT employees of the Transportation Security Administration.)

TSA Removes X-Ray Body Scanners From Major Airports

The Transportation Security Administration has been quietly removing its X-ray body scanners from major airports over the last few weeks and replacing them with machines that radiation experts believe are safer.

The TSA says it made the decision not because of safety concerns but to speed up checkpoints at busier airports. It means, though, that far fewer passengers will be exposed to radiation because the X-ray scanners are being moved to smaller airports.

The backscatters, as the X-ray scanners are known, were swapped out at Boston Logan International Airport in early October. Similar replacements have occurred at Los Angeles International Airport, Chicago O'Hare, Orlando and John F. Kennedy in New York, the TSA confirmed Thursday.

Unfortunately, you won’t know what they know, because Homeland Security’s new toy is capable of detecting every molecule on your person from over 164 feet (50 meters) away—without your permission.

CIA-Backed Company Develops New Scanners

Within the next year or two, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security will instantly know everything about your body, clothes, and luggage with a new laser-based molecular scanner fired from 164 feet (50 meters) away. From traces of drugs or gun powder on your clothes to what you had for breakfast to the adrenaline level in your body—agents will be able to get any information they want without even touching you, reports Gizmodo.

The scanner was developed by Genia Photonics before being subcontracted by In-Q-Tel, a company founded in 1999 “by a group of private citizens at the request of the Director of the CIA and the support of the U.S. Congress.” Although the technology is not new, In-Q-Tel made it exponentially faster and more convenient to use—which has its own implications.

Appeals court: expect DHS to begin public comment process for body scanners by end of March 2013

In yet another ludicrous decision from a U.S. Court of Appeals, in this case the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the court issued a laughable ruling on an Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) petition regarding the flagrant disregard of the July 2011 court order on the part of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Keep in mind, the DHS and their child agency, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), have completely ignored the court ruling with seeming immunity even when a Congressional report has called on the TSA to review the health risks and privacy concerns surrounding the naked body scanners.

One must also take into account the fact that DHS and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) are working on an entirely new generation of airport security technology, when the TSA hasn’t even held the required public comment period for the current generation of technology.

The government has been incredibly brazen about their defiance of the required public comment process, saying that they might “finalize documents” by February of 2013, according to EPIC.

TSA Continues Its Unchecked Expansion Across the U.S.

In yet another example of the expansion of the role of the TSA beyond airport security, the now infamous agency is conducting “security” screenings at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.

Of course, with the exception of a few alternative news sites, the fact that the TSA mission creep has advanced several steps further in recent weeks has scarcely been mentioned by major news sources. Predictably, the mainstream media has been almost completely silent on the issue save for a few passing mentions in the middle of articles describing the “electric” atmosphere of the DNC.

One such mention was made by John Sweeney, a reporter who is attending the DNC. In his article entitled, “Hurricane Bloodhound hovers over DNC,” in the September 5, 2012 edition of the Florence Morning News, Sweeney confirmed that not only was the TSA in attendance, they were indeed screening DNC participants upon arrival at the convention hall.

MI5, CIA and TSA at the 2012 London Olympic Games

The UK government has deployed an extra 1,200 more troops to aid in protection measures at the 2012 Olympic Games.

The lack of confidence in the G4S security firm has prompted the use of military forces. The opening ceremony will provide an estimated 18,200 UK military personnel. Another 5,500 troops will be stationed outside the venue.

Jeremy Hunt, Olympics Secretary released a statement explaining:

On the eve of the largest peacetime event ever staged in this country, ministers are clear that we should leave nothing to chance. The Government continues to have every confidence that we will deliver a safe and secure Games.

The armed forces will be soldiers formerly stationed in Afghanistan.

Security at the Games is beginning to be referred to as “the biggest peacetime security operation in Britain’s history.”

Napolitano and TSA Lies Exposed by NIST, EPIC; Real Dangers Revealed

The controversy over the TSA body scanners has been uninterrupted since their inception, along with the insane TSA screening policies. To counter the legitimate concerns and questions of the American people, Janet “Big Sis” Napolitano of the Department of Homeland Security would cite National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) findings.

Thanks to the admirable work of the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), it has become clear that those statements by Napolitano were nothing other than a pure, unadulterated lie. It turns out that NIST does not do product testing, and they did not test the AIT machines for safety (as Napolitano falsely asserted in the above linked article). The director of NIST clarified this in a recently released e-mail which stated that NIST only “measured the dose of a single machine and compared it against the standard.”

Napolitano was fabricating the information about safety testing in her opinion piece published by USA Today, that much is clear. What else was she lying to us about?

Cancer Surges In Body Scanner Operators; TSA Launches Cover-Up

Fearful of provoking further public resistance to naked airport body scanners, the TSA has been caught covering up a surge in cases of TSA workers developing cancer as a result of their close proximity to radiation-firing devices, perhaps the most shocking revelation to emerge from the latest FOIA documents obtained by the Electronic Privacy Information Center.

After Union representatives in Boston discovered a “cancer cluster” amongst TSA workers linked with radiation from the body scanners, the TSA sought to downplay the matter and refused to issue employees with dosimeters to measure levels of exposure.

The documents indicate how, “A large number of workers have been falling victim to cancer, strokes and heart disease.”

“The Department, rather than acting on it, or explaining its position seems to have just dismissed. I don’t think that’s the way most other agencies would have acted in a similar situation if they were confronted with that question,” EPIC’s Marc Rotenberg said.

Of course, if TSA workers who are merely standing near the scanners are already developing cancer, frequent flyers are also putting themselves in harm’s way by standing directly inside the radiation-firing machines.

As we reported yesterday, newly released internal government documents, obtained via the Freedom Of Information Act by the Electronic Privacy Information Center, reveal that the TSA, and specifically the head of the Department of Homeland Security, “publicly mischaracterized” the findings of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, in stating that NIST had positively confirmed the safety of full body scanners in tests.

In erroneously citing both NIST and the Johns Hopkins school of medicine to claim that the body scanners are safe, the TSA has also deliberately misled the public on the dangers posed by the devices.

Documents obtained by EPIC show that, far from affirming their safety, NIST warned that airport screeners should avoid standing next to full body scanners in order to keep exposure to harmful radiation “as low as reasonably achievable.”

Further documents illustrate how a Johns Hopkins study actually revealed that radiation zones around body scanners could exceed the “General Public Dose Limit,” contradicting repeated claims by the TSA that Johns Hopkins had validated the safety of the devices.

At the time we pointed out that Dr Michael Love, who runs an X-ray lab at the department of biophysics and biophysical chemistry at the Johns Hopkins school of medicine had publicly stated two days previously that “statistically someone is going to get skin cancer from these X-rays”.

Final Senate Version of TSA Bill Authorizes Invasive Groping

Despite Texas lawmakers claiming otherwise, the final Senate version of a bill that purports to criminalize invasive pat downs actually authorizes the TSA to continue groping travelers, mandating only that they need “reasonable suspicion” to indicate that the person may be carrying a prohibited object, which could easily be claimed if the person sets off a metal detector or refuses to undergo a full body scan.



Essentially, after weeks of federal threats and deliberate sabotage, the legislation passed by the Senate last night gives the TSA carte blanche to continue business as usual, because the language of the bill is completely toothless.
