How to Waste a Trillion Dollars

What America could have had for the cost of Lockheed Martin's F-35.

Tony Cartalucci, Contributor

Already possessing the largest, most advanced air force and air defense capability on the planet, the United States has recently developed at the cost of 323 billion dollars, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) produced by Lockheed Martin. It is the most expensive defense program in human history. The US plans to buy a total of 2,443 of these aircraft, utilize them for approximately 50 years at the total program cost of 1.5 trillion dollars. The Pentagon has already begun a public relations campaign to endear Americans to this latest unnecessary waste of trillions of taxpayer dollars.

Image: For the cost of bombing third world nations for another half-century with the astronomically expensive F-35 program, the US could have permanently colonized the planet Mars, and still had hundreds of millions to subsidize healthcare and education back on Earth. The corporate-financiers of the Fortune 500 and the military-industrial complex have run roughshod over America's destiny, irrevocably staining our generation's page in history.

The United States has never fought a major air battle over its continental territory, and for good reason. It is separated by oceans and allies on all sides from any potential enemy, and possesses more than adequate air defense capabilities along with the largest navy on Earth protecting the water and air along its coasts. The F-35 was not built to protect the United States. It was built to protect "American interests," or in other words, take and hold what belongs to others.

Did the new Alternative Media actually save American lives?

James Smith, Contributor

Put this in the “I don’t believe it” file, but something unusual has happened. The Department of Homeland Security /Immigration Customs Enforcement (DHS/ICE) has CANCELLED their request to purchase 176,000 rounds of .308 hollow point boat tail ammunition. According to an email that was passed onto me, Harry at the Federal Service Desk stated that a notice could be cancelled for a variety of reasons.

This isn’t the story of one man writing an article and the government folding. This is the story of one man writing one article, and according to Google, about 56,000 resulting links for the search string, “More sniper ammunition being ordered by DHS. Who are the targets”.

At my end, I found thousands of people that read the article, and many shared it either on a social website, or in an email to a contact. Major alternative media websites like Prison Planet picked up the story and pushed it further along the blogosphere. No matter how you cut it – the story went out and people read it.

There are a few reasons why the DHS may have cancelled the notice.

First was the ammunition, now comes the weapons

Keep the people ignorant and afraid and control and power becomes a detail – a self-generating byproduct of the people’s hysteria . . . The universal methodology of the tyrant is always incrementalism. -- Derek Audette

James Smith, Contributor

First came the ammunition requests, and now it’s time for the weapons. The incremental creep of arming government thugs continues one step at a time, one breath at a time, until it becomes one American death at a time.

Department of Homeland Security has placed an initial order of up to 7,000 5.56x45mm North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) personal defense weapons (PDW), with a contract life of 5 years, to numerous Department of Homeland Security components, which includes Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC).

The winner of the contract would receive the assured minimum is $30,000 but not to exceed the maximum ceiling of $9,800,000.

EADS and BAE Systems discuss merger to create world’s largest defense and security group

Madison Ruppert, Contributor

Two large defense contractors, BAE Systems plc and European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company N.V. (EADS), are currently negotiating a potential merger which would create by far the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, dwarfing even the behemoth American war profiteers like Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman and Boeing.

According to Defense Update, BAE Systems and EADS would actually operate under “a dual listed company structure” under which they would both be operating as one group while still being listed separately on exchanges.

The companies stated that certain defense activities could be ringfenced (financially separated) in accordance with agreements with governments, the United States of America in particular, due to their strategic and national security importance and due to “the importance of that market [the USA] to the enlarged group.”

The History Of DHS Ammunition Purchases

This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration. Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future.

The question of whether a leader is good or a tyrant is an age old question. Being the one who wears the crown opens you up to criticism from all levels, and, to be quite frank, you can’t make everyone love you.

This article is to outline purchases by the Department of Human resources since August 2002, a ten-year span. The Department of Homeland Security was created by then President Bush as a preventative measure from further terror attacks on American soil. And since its inception has been fodder for skeptics and fuel for those demanding a smaller, unintrusive government.

DARPA’s new cheap robot is capable of changing apparent shape, color, temperature and more

Madison Ruppert, Contributor
Activist Post

It seems that the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has taken a major step forward in creating an astoundingly cheap and quite small robot that “can change the color, contrast, pattern, apparent shape, luminescence, and surface temperature of soft machines for camouflage and display,” according to a report published in Science.

Along with the DARPA-funded miniature spy computer known as the Falling or Ballistically-launched Object that Makes Backdoors (F-BOMB), this robot very well could be produced for less than $100 per unit with costs going down even further over time.

The robot, which is part of the Maximum Mobility and Manipulation (M3) program, is around the size of an average person’s palm and can be seen in motion in the below video provided by DARPA:

It utilizes microfluidic networks to create the astounding changes which even “can be changed simultaneously in the visible and infrared — a capability that organisms do not have. These strategies begin to imitate the functions, although not the anatomies, of color-changing animals,” according to Science.

Could ineffectual equipment be part of the False Flag attempt?

James Smith, Contributor
Activist Post

The possibility of a False Flag attack to end the Rule of Law and of the Constitution has been of much talk recently. We have stories of massive amount of explosives being purchased by the Transportation Safety Administration, as well as the TSA contracting for role players to pretend to be the bad guys.

Part of doing something of this nature, is not to destroy assets and resources. The number one asset and resource that businesses have is its people.

And what better way to provide the assets safety than to not harm them in any way.

Consider the following:

Inept Gov’t employees cause unnecessary panic

James Smith, Contributor

A bombshell exploded within the Alternative Media world when it was announced by a few websites that the Department of Homeland Security had just re-ordered another 700 million rounds of ammunition for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA.

I did not believe that for one minute, because I took the time and I counted each and every single type and quantity of ammunition being requested. See the article HERE. And the article I wrote actually hit the wires first. It was basically ignored because of the newer bombshell.

This is the Excel chart that I made to account for the ammunition: HERE (PDF).

And this video outlines the total ammunition in this order, as well as all past DHS orders since Mr. Obama took office:

The problem was simple, and avoidable. This is the second mistake made by a government employee who has not had their work reviewed.

Action Alert: ICE wants 165 Million rounds of ammunition; sign a petition to stop the fear

James Smith, Contributor
Activist Post

The madness continues.

The Department of Homeland Security, through the Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has requested another 33 million rounds of .223 caliber 62 grain ammunition in the base year, and for 4 subsequent years, with a limit of 165,000,000 rounds. Click on the below images to enlarge screenshots of the documents.

The base year, 2012, allotment of 33 million rounds will be due sixty days after the contract is awarded.

All the ammunition that has been contracted for purchase by the US Government in this month alone is staggering.

Synthetic Police Are Coming: DARPA Engineering Autonomous Robots

Susanne Posel, Contributor

Because of the risks involved to rescue aid workers and human response teams, DARPA awarded Boston Dynamics, Inc. a $10.9 million contract to manufacture humanoid robots that are bi-pedal, built like humans and have a sensor head with on-board computing capabilities. Completion of the project is expected for August of 2014.

These robots are being created to assist in excavation and rescue missions, according to DARPA. They could also be employed to evacuation operations during either man-made or natural disasters.

Kent Massey, director of advanced programs for HDT Robotics, who attended the DARPA meeting in which the purpose of the allocation of humanoid robotic technology was explained, said:
The goal of this Grand Challenge is to create a humanoid robot that can operate in an environment built for people and use tools made for people. The specific challenge is built around an industrial disaster response.
Another of DARPA’s interests into robotics is the Avatar for the allocation of bi-pedal robots and essential super-soldiers and has devoted $7 million of its $2.8 billion 2012 budget to developing “interfaces and algorithms to enable a soldier to effectively partner with a semi-autonomous bi-pedal machine and allow it to act as the soldier’s surrogate.”

Startling Evidence That Central Banks And Wall Street Insiders Are Rapidly Preparing For Something BIG

If you want to figure out what is going to happen next in the financial markets, carefully watch what the insiders are doing. Those that are "connected" have access to far better sources of information than the rest of us have, and if they hear that something big is coming up they will often make very significant moves with their money in anticipation of what is about to happen.

Right now, Wall Street insiders and central banks all around the globe are making some very unusual moves.

In fact, they appear to be rapidly preparing for something really big. So exactly what are they up to? In a previous article entitled "Are The Government And The Big Banks Quietly Preparing For An Imminent Financial Collapse?", I speculated that they may be preparing for a financial meltdown of some sort. As I noted in that article, more than 600 banking executives have resigned from their positions over the past 12 months, and I have been personally told that a substantial number of Wall Street bankers have been shopping for "prepper properties" this summer.

But now even more evidence has emerged that quiet preparations are being made for an imminent financial collapse. That doesn't guarantee that something will happen or won't happen. Like any good detective, we are gathering clues and trying to figure out what the evidence is telling us.

Government Awards Ammunition But Hides How Much It Spent And The Quantity Requested

On 16 Aug 2012, National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency announced on FedBiz.gov, of award going to A2Z Supply Corp, a frequent awardee of ammunition contracts. However, this Wyoming-based company received a big fat ZERO in the award. Look at the picture below (click to make larger):

There was no solicitation request, no notice of sole supplier, no notice of ANYTHING.

Why The Gov’t Purchase Of Ammunition Should Scare The Hell Out Of You

James Smith, Contributor
Activist Post

Recent articles have been published, by this network and others, that detail the extraordinarily large purchases of ammunition by the United States Government. This ammunition has been of varying calibers, mainly .357 Sig and .40 S&W. However, they all have been what are known as “Hollow Point” rounds.

From Wikipedia:
A hollow-point bullet is an expanding bullet that has a pit or hollowed out shape in its tip, often intended to cause the bullet to expand upon entering a target in order to decrease penetration and disrupt moretissue as it travels through the target. It is also used for controlled penetration, where over-penetration could cause collateral damage(such as on an aircraft). In target shooting, they are used for greater accuracy and reduction of smoke, fouling, and lead vapour exposure, as hollow point bullets have an enclosed base while traditional bullets have an exposed lead base. In essence, the hollow point bullet has several purposes: hollow points are designed to increase in diameter once within the target, thus maximizing tissue damage and blood loss or shock, and to remain inside the target, thereby transferring all of its kinetic energy to that target (some fraction would remain in the bullet if it passed through instead). Jacketed hollow points (JHPs) or plated hollow points are covered in a coating of harder metal (usually a copper alloy or copper coated steel) to increase bullet strength and to preventfouling the barrel with lead stripped from the bullet. The term hollow-cavity bullet is used to describe a hollow point where the hollow is unusually large, sometimes dominating the volume of the bullet, and causes extreme expansion or fragmentation on impact.[1]
Many articles state that the hollow point round is banned in combat due to its brutal devastation it causes upon the human body. However, in reality, this is not the case.

High Explosives Awardee Announced To Firm Of Former TSA Head

James Smith, Contributor

Federal Business Online has announced that American Homeland Security Consulting Group, LLC has been awarded $56,994 to provide the Transportation Security Administration 700 pounds of High Grade Ammonium Nitrate and 700 pounds of RDX, both high explosives that have been used in terror attacks around the world.

American Homeland Security Consulting Group, LLC is a firm based in Washington DC, and hire former US Government agents. From their website:
The American Homeland Security Consulting Group is a professional services agency comprised of former Federal agents of the U.S. Departments of Homeland Security, Justice and Treasury.
We employ a network of former ATF, Customs, DEA, FBI, ICE, IRS and Secret Service agents, as well as noted experts on homeland security, executive protection, vulnerability assessments and critical infrastructure protection. Our personnel can be deployed anywhere in the U.S. to assist with your security needs.
We have a Rapid Response Team (RRT) comprised of former federal agents who are authorized to carry firearms pursuant to the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004. These RRT personnel can be deployed to assist both the public and private sectors in the event of a major disaster or terrorist act.
We have employment opportunities for retired Federal law enforcement officers who would like to continue to utilize their expertise gained from many years of experience while keeping our nation safe.
We are seeking government contracts on a Federal, State and local level with regards to Homeland security and Critical Infrastructure Protection.
But the underlying question that is very “suspicious” is this: Where are they getting the explosives?

NOAA Requests Ammunition For The Weather Service

On 9 Aug 2012, the Department of Commerce, for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration by way of the National Weather Service, put out a solicitation for a small variety of ammunition.

The solicitation breaks down the requirements:

  • 16,000 rounds of ammunition for semiautomatic pistols to be factory-loaded .40 S&W caliber, 180-grain jacketed hollow point (JHP).
  • 6,000 rounds of frangible, 125-grain CFRHT .40 caliber.
  • 24,000 rounds of ammunition for semiautomatic pistols to be factory-loaded .40 S&W caliber, 180-grain jacketed hollow point (JHP).
In all, 40,000 rounds of ammunition, and only 500 Transtar II blue 24" x 40" targets are being ordered.

Once again DHS orders hundreds of millions of rounds of ammo

The federal government, specifically the Department of Homeland Security, is buying up huge amounts of ammunition and there seems to be no end in sight. Again, this is nothing new as the DHS has refused to explain their purchase of 450 million hollow points and has ordered "up to" 650-750 million rounds of ammo and also seems to be looking for more weapons as well.

Incoming US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is determined to avoid gutting the American military despite the prospect of difficult budget decisions looming, a Pentagon spokesman said Thursday.

"He (Panetta) believes that it is a false choice between fiscal responsibility and national security," spokesman Douglas Wilson told reporters.

Amid mounting fiscal pressure, the defense budget "will be an important item on his agenda," Wilson said.

"He will take that very seriously. He knows there are difficult decisions to be made," he said.

Panetta "has said publicly, and he will say again, that he intends that there will be no hollow force on his watch."

War Evolves With Drones, Some Tiny as Bugs

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio — Two miles from the cow pasture where the Wright Brothers learned to fly the first airplanes, military researchers are at work on another revolution in the air: shrinking unmanned drones, the kind that fire missiles into Pakistan and spy on insurgents in Afghanistan, to the size of insects and birds.

The base’s indoor flight lab is called the “microaviary,” and for good reason. The drones in development here are designed to replicate the flight mechanics of moths, hawks and other inhabitants of the natural world. “We’re looking at how you hide in plain sight,” said Greg Parker, an aerospace engineer, as he held up a prototype of a mechanical hawk that in the future might carry out espionage or kill.
