Why is Big Food Promoting Death on Their Packages?
By Truthstream Media
It was bad enough when it was just nutritionally void, genetically modified, and filled with dangerous additives and other excitotoxic and potentially carcinogenic chemicals... but now we're literally going to shape our food like little Satan heads and label it "demons" too?
Are we that utterly disconnected?
WHY are we allowing this to be done to us? Why are we doing it to ourselves?

Your Cells, Their Proteins and Superfoods
![]() |

In "She Used to Be In A Wheelchair - The TED Talk That Comes With a Warning" I showcase Dr. Terry Wahls who successfully reversed her debilitating multiple sclerosis with the application of nutrients and meditation. She talks about the importance "minding your mitochondria" and how lifestyle, diet and environment can switch genes on or off. Similarly, there are people reversing ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease using similar methods.
What's cellular protein got to do with it? A whole lot! Turns out, you can influence it with food. In order to drum up more money for research and drugs, researchers also kind of have to admit the power of food.
Below, I'd like to show two recent, similar but unrelated studies about how cells deal with protein production and disease. One of them demonstrates a type of protective protein and how nutrients from superfoods influence it to keep watch over cells.
With all of this information one can see some patterns: a tipping point that leads to disease manifestation, either a clogging of or lack of protein at the cellular level, and how nutrient dense foods play a role in rebalancing the cell.

Beck Sidekicks Attempt To Debunk Diet Coke Controversy
Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com
October 11, 2010
Infowars.com
October 11, 2010
Glenn Beck radio show sidekicks Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere waded in on the controversy surrounding Beck’s poor health today after an article which was featured on the Drudge Report warned that Beck’s poor eyesight was probably related to the amount of aspartame he consumes in drinking large amounts of Diet Coke.
Watch the clip.
Gray and Burguiere attempt to debunk concerns about the health dangers of aspartame by pointing out that Donald Rumsfeld, who was instrumental in pushing aspartame on drinks manufacturers in the early 80’s, would have had no motivation in sickening consumers of coca-cola because he would have been killing his clients.
But Rumsfeld was head of a pharmaceutical company – G. D. Searle – the manufacturer of aspartame – which was eventually absorbed by big pharma giant Pfizer. If everyone was healthy all of the time, pharmaceutical companies would all but cease to exist. Big pharma makes profit from sickness not health, so Rumsfeld’s motivation for pushing a known carcinogen makes perfect sense.
The two sidekicks sophomorically attempt to dismiss the issue by making out as if Infowars had claimed that Donald Rumsfeld had directly poisoned Beck’s soda with a plague. They also claim that the evidence Infowars had collated for the piece comprised of “one sentence in a New York Times article”.
In reality, Kurt Nimmo’s story cited numerous health professionals warning of the very serious and documented side-effects caused by aspartame, including the principle threat, aspartame by-product methanol, which is metabolized by the body to create formaldehyde, a cancerous carcinogen.
Burguiere then goes on to list a number of studies that claim aspartame is completely safe to consume, without mentioning the fact that the vast majority of them were funded by, you guessed it, the aspartame industry.
In 1996, Dr. Ralph Walton found that every single one of the 74 studies conducted on aspartame that was funded by the aspartame industry, groups like Monsanto, G.D. Searle and ILSI, concluded that aspartame posed no health risks. Therefore Burguiere’s citation of these studies is about as credible as pointing to a study conducted by Marlboro, Camel and Winston dismissing the link between cigarette smoking and cancer.
Numerous independent controlled studies (not ones conducted by corporations who sell aspartame products) using human subjects have concluded that aspartame is deadly. They are Camfield (1992), Elsas (1988), Gulya (1992), Koehler (1988), Kulczycki (1995), Spiers (1988), Van Den Eeden (1994), Walton (1993). Indeed, out of 90 independently-funded studies, 83 of them found one or more problems caused by aspartame.
Glenn Beck’s own Fox News reported in 2005 that artificial sweeteners had been linked to a “wide range of cancers” after a study involving rats conducted by researchers from the European Ramazzini Foundation.
Beck’s sidekicks also point to FDA studies dismissing the dangers of aspartame in an attempt to debunk health concerns.
A story by Rishi Mehta, associate commentary editor for the University of Connecticut Daily Campus newspaper, puts the FDA studies in context: “In 1981, after over 15 years of FDA disapproval of aspartame, (Donald) Rumsfeld said in a Searle sales meeting that he would use ‘political rather than scientific means’ to finally get FDA approval. Only 20 days later, Ronald Reagan was sworn in as 40th President of the United States, appointing Rumsfeld as Special Envoy to the Middle East and Arthur Hayes Hull Jr. – a friend of Rumsfeld’s – to FDA commissioner.”
The FDA has also been caught removing negative data from government studies that indicated aspartame was dangerous to humans.
According to consumer rights group Mission Possible, “Since its 1981 approval, the FDA has published a list of 92 symptoms of aspartame poisoning, which includes headaches, vision loss including blindness, seizures, neurological problems, cardiovascular problems and death. The FDA admits adverse reactions to aspartame comprise about 80 percent of consumer complaints it receives each year.”
The FDA knowingly approves drugs every year that have been proven to contribute to deadly health problems. Being forced to cite studies conducted by the completely politicized, bought off and corrupt Federal Drug Administration reveals the desperation of Gray and Burguiere’s argument.
Almost all the You Tube comments in response to the video express vehement disagreement with Gray and Burguiere and the majority of respondents on Beck’s own website also point out that aspartame is no laughing matter.
“My husband and I both started getting strange neurological symptoms when we started drinking aspartame drinks. As a chemist, I narrowed it down to the aspartame so we both went off it. Problem solved. He has drunk Diet Coke a few times since and the problem always reappeared,” writes one listener.
Another talks about how a myriad of different undiagnosed health problems, including eye problems, were solved when he stopped drinking diet sodas containing aspartame.
“I didn’t believe it then I overheard my daughter’s friend saying how bad aspartame was and quit drinking diet drinks. I haven’t had any symptoms since I quit. It has been several years now and I am symptom free. My husband thought he was slowly watching me die when all this was happening,” writes Terry Waldrop.
We would urge Glenn Beck to follow the advice of many of his listeners and stop consuming diet drinks containing aspartame for a trial period of one month. Once Beck feels the improvement in health for himself, he will know that aspartame is no laughing matter, and it will be the people who cared enough to deliver this warning – and not the sophomoric denial of co-hosts Gray and Burguiere – who are to thank for this transformation.
But aspartame is not only found in Diet Coke, it now appears in some 6,000 food and drink products, including all brands of children’s chewing gum.
The challenge is set not just for Glenn Beck but for the millions of people who became informed about this issue as a result of our original article hitting the Drudge Report – stop drinking coca-cola for a month, stop consuming aspartame products, and see how much better you feel. Read the label and refuse to buy anything containing aspartame or similar artificial sweeteners. You will then begin to understand how food is being used as a weapon to keep us all sick while ensuring the pharmaceutical industry continues to make vast profits from the one thing that keeps them thriving – sickness and disease.
You will then begin to understand how food is being used as a weapon to keep us all sick while ensuring the pharmaceutical industry continues to make vast profits from the one thing that keeps them thriving – sickness and disease.
If you still need convincing, we suggest you watch the excellent documentary below which features numerous health professionals warning about the dangers of aspartame.

Chemical Relations: Monsanto and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation
BILL BERKOWITZ FOR BUZZFLASH
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation recently bought some 500,000 shares of Monsanto stock. It is also working in collaboration with Cargill. Why is the foundation, considered one of the world's leading philanthropic organizations, working so closely with corporate outlaws?
By most mainstream media accounts - especially the recent segment about her on CBS' "60 Minutes" - Melinda Gates, the wife of Microsoft's Bill Gates, is a smart, caring, highly-motivated and well-organized woman seeking to do great good both at home and abroad. As the co-founder and co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, she, along with her husband, are the world's most generous philanthropists. They have given away of hundreds of millions of dollars to such diverse efforts as improving education in the U.S., the elimination of diseases like Malaria in underdeveloped countries, fighting HIV/AIDS, and the prevention of mother and child deaths around the world.
"I have to be here. To see it, and to feel it, and to understand, you know, what motivates these people," Melinda Gates told "60 Minutes'" Scott Pelley, during a Foundation trip to north India. "What is it that they're doing for their livelihood? Unless I see it and feel it and touch it, I just don't feel like I can do the foundation justice in terms of what we're trying to accomplish."
For the most part, the work of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation gets the positive recognition that it deserves. However, every once in a while something comes up that makes you wonder exactly how much attention the Gates' are paying to some nitty-gritty details, like its investments portfolio.
Gates Foundation and Monsanto: Unlikely or unholy relationship?
According to a late-September post at the Guardian's Poverty Matters blog, the Foundation -- which sponsors the Guardian's Global development site - "is being heavily criticized in Africa and the US for getting into bed not just with notorious GM company Monsanto, but also with agribusiness commodity giant Cargill."
The criticism was set off when a financial website in the U.S. "published the foundation's annual investment portfolio, which showed it had bought 500,000 Monsanto shares worth around $23m," in the second quarter of 2010. Apparently the purchase was "a substantial increase in the last six months and while it is just small change for Bill and Melinda, it has been enough to let loose their fiercest critics," the Guardian reported.
One of the Foundation's most persistent critics is the Seattle-based Agra Watch (http://agrawatch.wordpress. com/) -- a project of the Community Alliance for Global Justice (http://www. seattleglobaljustice.org/). According to a late-August Agra Watch press release titled "Gates Foundation Invests in Monsanto: Both will profit at expense of small-scale African Farmers," "Farmers, and civil society organizations around the world are outraged by the recent discovery of further connections between ... [the foundation] and agribusiness titan Monsanto."
The press release pointed out that "Monsanto has already negatively impacted agriculture in African countries. For example, in South Africa in 2009, Monsanto's genetically modified maize failed to produce kernels and hundreds of farmers were devastated. According to Mariam Mayet, environmental attorney and director of the Africa Centre for Biosafety in Johannesburg, some farmers suffered up to an 80% crop failure. While Monsanto compensated the large-scale farmers to whom it directly sold the faulty product, it gave nothing to the small-scale farmers to whom it had handed out free sachets of seeds."
Mayet said that "When the economic power of Gates is coupled with the irresponsibility of Monsanto, the outlook for African smallholders is not very promising." Agra Watch's press release also noted that "Monsanto's aggressive patenting practices have also monopolized control over seed in ways that deny farmers control over their own harvest, going so far as to sue - and bankrupt - farmers for 'patent infringement.'"
"The Foundation's direct investment in Monsanto is problematic on two primary levels," said Dr. Phil Bereano, University of Washington Professor Emeritus and recognized expert on genetic engineering. "First, Monsanto has a history of blatant disregard for the interests and well-being of small farmers around the world, as well as an appalling environmental track record. The strong connections to Monsanto cast serious doubt on the Foundation's heavy funding of agricultural development in Africa and purported goal of alleviating poverty and hunger among small-scale farmers. Second, this investment represents an enormous conflict of interests."
"Monsanto has a history of blatant disregard for the interests and well being of small farmers around the world... [This] casts serious doubt on the foundation's heavy funding of agricultural development in Africa."
In 2008, Agra Watch "uncovered many linkages between the Foundation's grantees and Monsanto," the press release pointed out. "Some grantees (about 70% of the grantees in Kenya) of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) - considered by the Foundation to be its 'African face' - work directly with Monsanto on agricultural development projects." In addition, several high-ranking Foundation operatives, including Rod Horsch, formerly Monsanto Vice President of International Development Partnerships, is now the Senior Program Officer of the Gates Agricultural Development Program.
According to The Oread Daily's (http://oreaddaily.blogspot. com/) Randy Gould, "In 2006 the Bill and Melinda Gates and Rockefeller Foundations launched the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA), which is based in Nairobi, Kenya. Their aim 'is to alleviate poverty and hunger in Africa by increasing food production.' Much like the original green revolution, which still plagues farmers throughout India and Latin America, their mission is to increase production by increasing the amount of chemical fertilizers, herbicides, and chemical dependent high-yield seed varieties farmers use. They are also aggressively pushing genetically modified seeds and the involvement of agribusiness giants such as Monsanto."
Marie-Monique Robin's 'The World According to Monsanto'
Marie-Monique Robin, a French journalist who has produced several books and documentaries, and is the daughter of small farmers, "dedicate[d] four years of her life to investigating the leading global company in the transgenic industry, Monsanto, which now owns 90% of GMOs grown worldwide (mainly soy, corn, cotton and canola)," the Organic Consumer Association's Laura Stefani wrote in 2009. In an interview, Robin told Steffani that while she has "always been interested in human rights and agriculture ... [she] began to work on the dangers facing biodiversity: here the three issues are interlinked to an incredible extent."
Robin's work resulted in "The World According to Monsanto
," which Steffani described as "an investigative book which covers the history, hidden strategies and true objectives of the controversial multinational" (http://www.organicconsumers. org/articles/article_18084.cfm ).
The book was published in Italy and translated into 13 languages, and the DVD film version has been distributed in 22 countries. In an interview with Robin, Steffani asked her whether Monsanto can be trusted, given its record of lying "on many occasions, particularly regarding the toxicity of its products, from PCBs (polychlorobiphenyls) to dioxin, and Agent Orange used in Vietnam.... [and] now [with its] genetically manipulating [of] seeds entering our diet."
Robin answered that Monsanto had "lied in the past and are continuing to do so, even if their website says things like 'we help small farmers to produce healthier food with reduced environmental impact.' In fact none of this is true, just look at Roundup Ready seeds (RR). GM soy, for example, the first GMO launched on the market, now constitutes 90% of all soy grown in the US. It has been manipulated to resist a powerful glyphosate-based herbicide called Roundup which has been produced by Monsanto since the 1970s (since 1988 there has also been a version for home gardens).
"The multinational maintained that it was a 100% biodegradable herbicide that was completely harmless for humans and the environment. Too bad that it has been found guilty, first in the US and recently in France, for misleading advertising. Last year a confidential Monsanto study was made public where it was stressed that only 2% of Roundup decomposes in the soil, and then only after 28 days! A far cry from the concept of biodegradability. This is a crucial lie, since 70% of GMOs currently grown in the world have been genetically manipulated so they can be sprayed with Roundup."
To add injury to injury, the Guardian's Poverty Matters blog also pointed out that the "South Africa-based watchdog the African Center for Biosafety then found that the foundation was teaming up with Cargill in a $10m project to 'develop the soya value chain' in Mozambique and elsewhere. Who knows what this corporate-speak really means, but in all probability it heralds the big time introduction of GM soya in southern Africa."
The Gates' involvement withy Monsanto and Cargill "raise a host of questions for the foundation," Poverty Matters pointed out. "Few people doubt that GM has a place in Africa, but is Gates being hopelessly naïve by backing two of the world's most aggressive agri-giants? There is, after all, genuine concern at governmental and community level that the United State's model of extensive hi-tech farming is inappropriate for most of Africa and should not be foist on the poorest farmers in the name of 'feeding the world.'
The fact is that Cargill is a faceless agri-giant that controls most of the world's food commodities and Monsanto has been blundering around poor Asian countries for a decade giving itself and the US a lousy name for corporate bullying. Does Gates know it is in danger of being caught up in their reputations, or does the foundation actually share their corporate vision of farming and intend to work with them more in future?"
Poverty Matters noted that "the foundation has never been upfront about its vision for agriculture in the world's poorest countries, nor the role of controversial technologies like GM. But perhaps it could start the debate here? In the meantime, it could tell us how many of its senior agricultural staff used to work for Monsanto or Cargill?"

Warning to Glenn Beck: Don’t Drink Diet Coke
Kurt Nimmo

October 9, 2010
On Friday, Glenn Beck announced on his radio show that he will be taking a brief leave of absence for medical reasons. “There is something wrong with my voice, and we’re not sure what it is,” Beck said, according to a transcript on his website. “They’re going to be doing CAT scans and MREs or MRIs and PET scans and they’re going to be doing blood work like crazy.”
![]() | |
| As a Mormon, Beck is forbidden to drink coffee, but he drinks a large amount of Diet Coke. | |
In July, the Fox News host admitted that he is suffering from macular dystrophy, an eye disorder that causes vision loss. “Yes, I have a problem with my eyes,” Beck told an audience of 6,000 in Salt Lake City. “A couple of weeks ago, I went to the doctor because I can’t focus my eyes … So I went to the best doctor I could find… he did all kinds of tests, and he said I have macular dystrophy.”
Glenn Beck may not know it, but it is almost certain he is another victim of Rumsfeld Plague. On September 29, the New York Times published a long article about Beck. “His Mormonism forbids coffee, but he consumes a lot of Diet Coke and chocolate,” writes Mark Leibovich.
Coca-Cola began putting the “sugar substitute” aspartame in Diet Coke in 1982. According to the Department of Health and Human Services, aspartame accounts for over 75 percent of the adverse reactions to food additives reported to the FDA. Many of these reactions are very serious including seizures and death.
In 1999, the Independent on Sunday discovered that the maker of aspartame, Monsanto, uses genetically engineered bacteria to produce the “sweetener” at its U.S. production plants. Aspartame is made by combining phenylalanine, which is naturally produced by bacteria, with another amino acid. To make the bacteria produce more phenylalanine, Monsanto has genetically engineered them. “Increasingly, chemical companies are using genetically engineered bacteria in their manufacturing process without telling the public,” said Dr. Erik Millstone, of the Science Policy Research Unit at Sussex University, and a member of the National Food Alliance, told the newspaper.
Here’s what Glenn Beck needs to know — aspartame is linked to blindness. It is made up of 50% phenylalanine, 40% aspartic acid and 10% methyl alcohol. Methyl alcohol inevitably affects vision. Back when the government imposed prohibition on the country, thousands of people went blind due to the use of wood alcohol/methanol in spirits.
The late Dr. Morgan Raiford, a specialist in methanol toxicity, warned about the danger of blindness associated with the consumption of aspartame. “This product [NutraSweet] has some highly toxic reactions in the human visual pathway and we are beginning to observe the tragic damage to the optic nerve, such as blindness, partial to total optic nerve atrophy. Once this destructive process has developed there is no return of visual restoration,” Raiford wrote in an aspartame factsheet. “When this drug enters the digestive tract, largely the upper portion [the] aspartame molecule spins off a by product known as methanol or methyl-alcohol.”
Methanol “is an extremely powerful neurotoxin. It can produce blindness, it can produce cellular destruction in the brain and spinal cord in particular the optic nerves that has to do with our vision,” the neurosurgeon Dr. Russell Blaylock explained during a radio interview. In his book, Health and Nutrition Secrets That Can Save Your Life, Dr. Blaylock discusses a study explaining why diabetics who drink large amounts of aspartame drinks are more likely to go blind. Diabetic retinopathy is a leading cause of blindness.
In addition to blindness, a report produced by the Department of Health and Human Services lists over 90 symptoms related to aspartame, including: migraine headaches, dizziness, seizures, nausea, numbness, muscle spasms, weight gain, rashes, depression, fatigue, irritability, tachycardia, insomnia, vision problems, hearing loss, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, anxiety attacks, slurred speech, loss of taste, tinnitus, vertigo, memory loss, and joint pain. The following chronic illnesses are triggered or worsened by ingesting aspartame: Brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, chronic fatigue syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s, mental retardation, lymphoma, birth defects, fibromyalgia, and diabetes.
It is now estimated that over 6,000 food and drink products worldwide contain aspartame. “You might be surprised to learn about some of the foods you consume that contain aspartame. Besides the obvious products like diet sodas, there are many brands of chewing gum that contain aspartame. Most non-fat diet foods contain an amount of aspartame and the same goes for most sugar-free candy,” reports the FoodFacts website. Many brands of cereal, ice cream, yogurt, iced tea, powdered power drinks, nutritional bars, pudding, vegetable drinks, and many more food products contain aspartame.
Earlier this year, Glenn Beck talked about eugenics on his show, but he only scratched the surface. There is a mountain of evidence confirming that the globalists are cynical eugenicists. They are now using food as a soft kill weapon to reduce the population of the planet.
“People the world over, but especially in the United States are under chemical attack,” Alex Jones and Aaron Dykes wrote in July. “Deadly and dangerous toxins ranging from aspartame to fluoride, GMO, mercury-tainting, pesticides, cross-species chimeras, plastic compounds in chicken, high fructose corn syrup, cloned meat, rBGH and new aggressive GM species of salmon have all entered into our diets and environments — whether we want it or not.”
Food is a weapon and Glenn Beck is a victim.
Glenn Beck routinely attracts millions of viewers every week. If he understands the fact his medical problems are directly related to aspartame and he informs his audience of this, it will be a major victory for truth and a massive defeat for the elite eugenicists and their long held plan to not only enslave humanity, but reduce its numbers significantly.

FDA refuses to require labeling of genetically modified salmon
As the FDA stands poised to approve genetically modified (GM) salmon safe for public consumption, the next logical question concerns how GM salmon would be labeled. Would the fish come with a large red warning that says, “Genetically modified salmon”?
![]() |
| The FDA has already gone on the record stating it will not require any special labeling of genetically modified salmon. Photo: Woodley Wonderworks. |
As it turns out, no. In fact, the FDA has already gone on the record stating it will not require any special labeling of genetically modified salmon. You, the consumer, just have to take a wild guess because you’re not allowed to know what you’re really eating.
The biotech industry takes this absurdity one step further by claiming that labeling GM foods would just “confuse” consumers. David Edwards, the director of animal biotechnology at the Biotechnology Industry Organization, explained it in this way: “Extra labeling only confuses the consumer,” he says. “It differentiates products that are not different.”
Except that they are different. If they were really no different, then AquAdvantage company wouldn’t be growing them. The whole point of genetically modified salmon is that they are modified with extra growth hormone genes to make them grow more quickly. I don’t know where David Edwards is getting his information, but in the rest of the world, when something is different, that means it’s different.
If it’s no different, then why are so many GM salmon processes patented? If it’s no different, there would be nothing to patent. The entire purpose of a patent is to make a legal claim that “we invented something different” and we own the monopoly rights to it.
The GM salmon industry can’t have it both ways, you see. They can’t claim it’s so unique that their technologies and animals should be proprietary or patented, yet when it comes to food labeling, they claim there are no differences. It’s either different or it isn’t, and in the case of GM salmon, only an outright liar would look you in the eye and claim GM salmon is identical to regular farmed salmon or wild-caught salmon.
FDA insists on keeping people in the dark
The FDA, for its sad part in this saga, claims that it would be against the law to require the honest labeling of GM foods. This agency claims that since GM salmon is identical to regular salmon (it’s “no different” once again, they say), they can’t require it to be labeled any differently.
Except, of course, it is different. The genetic code of GM salmon is provably different, and since that genetic code is imprinted in every cell of the fish flesh, consumers are buying genetically modified fish with a different genetic code whose sole purpose was to alter the biochemistry of that fish so that it would grow larger more quickly. Thus, the physical expression of GM salmon is, by definition, different from the physical expression of regular salmon.
When you eat genetically modified salmon, you are eating something that’s different from regular (natural) salmon.
Word game trickery
What the FDA and biotech industries are doing with the GM salmon issue is playing word games, trying to confuse consumers with sleight-of-mouth language intentionally designed to mislead and misinform. They’ve already decided they want to approve GM salmon and they don’t want it to be accurately labeled. In essence, they want to trick consumers into buying GM salmon by making them think it’s natural salmon.
The trouble with this FDA hucksterism is that the people aren’t as stupid as the FDA thinks, and they aren’t going to be fooled by this genetically engineered salmon. That’s because the minute the FDA approves this Frankenfish, NaturalNews.com and a long list of other websites are going to alert the whole world to the simple truths of the matter:
Truth #1) Genetically engineered salmon is different from regular salmon.
Truth #2) The FDA is going out of its way to make sure GM salmon isn’t accurately labeled.
This is a Frankenfood cover-up, pure and simple, and the public is going to be outraged that the FDA would introduce a genetically engineered fish into the food supply without even requiring it to be accurately labeled!

We’ll be watching this issue very closely, waiting for the FDA’s final decision. If the FDA decides to yet again betray the American public over this issue, we won’t be at all surprised. But we will be vigilant, and we will ask for your help to spread the word and take action to demand that genetically modified salmon be accurately labeled so that consumers know what they’re actually buying.
Gee, you would think the FDA might be interested in food labeling honesty. But of course, the more you learn about the FDA, the more you realize every decision the agency makes is a political decision that betrays the rights and safety of the American people.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to eat genetically modified salmon. And I don’t want the FDA shoving this down my throat by making me try to guess which salmon is real versus artificially engineered. This Frankenfood shell game must end!

Conquering your cravings
Steve and Darren
Let's admit it, we have all had them at some point in our lives. How to come to terms with them, understand why they occur and eventually gain control of them, is an important topic in our goal for long-term health. Cravings see us reaching for chocolate, beer, sugary snacks, excessive carbs and a sundry of other foods that are rarely good for us. In this article we will explore why we crave what we do and what strategies we might employ to gain the upper hand.
Cravings in general reflect a signal from the body, physically or emotionally, that something is missing. In the case of physical signals, it normally refers to one of two missing substances. The first is water and is frankly the one to satisfy before exploring whether the craving has been satisfied. More often than not, if we feel a craving coming on and first drink some water, the unexpected or unrecognized dehydration is the true craving signal. Of course the kind of water you drink is very important. Drinking high quality filtered water is essential to good health and also cleansing. Secondly, if you satisfy your thirst whether you realize you are thirsty or not, you should then wait five minutes. If you are still craving, the most likely reason is that you are lacking certain nutrients; most often these will be vitamins, minerals or good fat. When I feel any kind of craving I first drink water and if the craving persists I eat a spoonful of coconut milk powder. The good fats will quite often eliminate your cravings, since our bodies need good fat. For years the western world has been on a proverbial witch-hunt against anything that contains fat, yielding a plethora of supposedly healthy low fat versions of everything. Since the body needs fat for the liver to produce cholesterol, an essential cell and brain repairer and for the body to make hormones, if we don't get it we crave it. If the fat does not calm the cravings my next approach is to replenish my stock of essential vitamins and minerals which I am convinced can only be accomplished with a good food based formula comprised of super foods that are themselves densely packed with these essential nutrients. When your body is thus well nourished it is very unlikely that you will be craving any longer. If you are and your craving is of the sweet kind, it is quite possible that you have an overgrowth of yeast such as Candida and it will be necessary to cut drastically down on your sugar consumption, consume more coconut and take an anti fungal formula. When you have conquered the sugar cravings in this manner and those mentioned above, future cravings might have a strong emotional component. We often reach for certain foods or substances that conjure up cozy feelings of stress free childhood moments. Being conscious of when we reach and what we reach for can help us understand and eventually redirect our choices, along with the wise dietary suggestions above. So good luck! Follow the advice above and you should soon find yourself more in charge of your cravings.
