Decentralized Network of “Time Banks” Keep Spain’s Jobless Afloat

| Tough economic times brings back barter systems |
Just over a month ago I wrote an article titled Decentralized currencies thrive in Greece during Eurozone crisis, which discussed some of the creative ways that people were finding to trade with eachother in the absence of a reliable currency.
As the dominos begin to fall, and the devaluing of the Euro and US dollar becomes sharper, more and more areas will be affected in the same way that Greece has. As this process takes place we will be able to witness different strategies that communities can use to bring safety, comfort and sustainability to one another in a self-sufficient way.

Trouble for the Establishment in Europe, Protests Spread to France (Video)
We Are Change
Luke Rudkowski reports from the new protests in France. He interviews a stunningly-aware crowd. They truly know the score and what the root problem of the system is: Banskter-Goverment collusion resulting in their enslavement. Great on-the-ground reporting by Rudkowski.

People power: Thousands defy Spanish protest ban as demonstrations go on into the night

An order by the Spanish government banning protests after midnight last night was held up to ridicule when tens of thousands of demonstrators continued protesting after the curfew supposedly kicked in.
Yesterday was the last day for candidates to campaign for the election for municipal and regional government positions in much of the country. Citing the mandatory end of campaigning, the national election commission banned protests today and tomorrow - voting day.
But as city clocks chimed the beginning of a new day, thousands of demonstrators condemning government spending cuts - stood their ground. Some kept quiet, many with sticky tape over their mouths in a gesture to illustrate they were being gagged by the ban.
The government avoided saying if it would order police to break up the crowds in the early hours of this morning, but at the stroke of midnight officers kept a discreet presence on the edges of the demonstrations.

Economic Hitmen Strike Again: Spain Planning to Privatize Airports

Dow Jones Newswires
MADRID -(Dow Jones)- The Spanish government plans to privatize the country's top two airports, as part of a series of measures seeking to jumpstart anemic economic growth, Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said Wednesday.
Zapatero told legislators in Parliament that Madrid's Barajas and Barcelona's El Prat airports will be run by private operators under a licensing, or concession system. Both airports have been recently remodeled and expanded to absorb increased passenger traffic in coming years.
The measures announced by Zapatero seek to foster investment and growth after Spain's timid economic recovery stalled in the third quarter, as government austerity measures, high unemployment and weakening exports weighed on output.

Google has admitted that its Street View cars had “accidentally” collected data from unsecured wi-fi networks in more than 30 countries.
A Google representative has now been summoned to appear before a judge in Madrid on 4 October.
It is in response to a complaint by a privacy watchdog called Apedanica.
The Google representative has been summoned to explain what data was collected, how it was obtained and the number of people affected.
“We are working with the authorities in Spain to answer any questions they have,” said a spokesperson for Google.
