Despite massive protests, US Senate passes S 510 Food Safety Bill

(NaturalNews) The new Food Tyranny Act -- called the "Food Safety Modernization Act" in the U.S. Senate -- has been passed by the senate today. It would give the FDA vast new powers to criminalize and imprison farmers and food producers while doing absolutely nothing to address to real root of the food contamination problem: Factory animal farm operations (which are regulated under the USDA, not the FDA).

The bill passed 73 to 25, with Sen Tom Coburn (R-Oklahoma) emerging as the greatest "voice of reason" in the debate. His last-ditch amendment to reduce the scale of the bill was defeated this morning.

Here's the official vote record:http://www.senate.gov/legislative/L...

Notably, there wasn't a single Democrat who opposed the bill.

This bill, as originally written, would have outlawed most nutritional supplements through "harmonization" with European laws. It also would have authorized ten-year prison sentences for farmers sellingraw milkto their neighbors. Both of those provisions were eventually stripped out of the bill thanks to some last-minute amendments, but it gives you an idea of the outright police state mentality of the original bill authors who attempted to put in place completegovernmentcontrol over food, gardens, rawmilkand more.

To give you an idea ofhow cluelessU.S. Senators are aboutfood, the New York Times is reporting that whenSenatestaff members met to discuss this bill, they would eat Starburst candies and jellybeans. As the NYT reports, "In the midst of negotiations, the negotiators -- nearly allwomen-- took a field trip to a nearby food market so that a Republican staff member could teach theDemocratshow to buy high-quality steaks."

So what we have here is a new foodtyrannylaw that was essentially negotiated by a group of women who eatdeadfoods, animals products and candy.

No wonder they still don't get it. Thecontaminationof lettuce and other fresh produce is caused byfactory animals farms, not by produce farms. (E.coli can only thrive in the digestive tracts of animals, not plants.)

The "small farms" exclusion will soon be meaningless

The Tester Amendment of the bill did manage to excludesomesmallerfarmersfrom the more tyrannical provisions of the bill. As currently stated, this would exclude small farms that sell less than $500,000 worth of food and which sell most of their food locally.

However, Senators failed to consider what's going to happen when theFederal Reservekeeps printing counterfeitmoney, devaluing the dollar and causing massive food price inflation. A farm that right now produces merely $100,000 worth of food (which could be a small, two-person farm) will soon find itself producing $500,000 worth of food (or more) due to the rapidly falling value of the U.S. dollar.

This is how the Federal Reserve's money counterfeiting actions will further destroyAmericaand place small family farms under the tyranny ofthe FDA.

What's next: Defeat the bill in committee

The Senate version of the bill must now be reconciled with the House version that was passed last year. This reconciliation committee must hammer out the differences between the two bills.

Democrats are urgently rushing to do this during their "lame duck" session in order to avoid moreRepublicansgetting involved who would seek to scale back thepowerand size of the federal government.

Some House Democrats are even suggesting they would support passing the Senate version of the bill as it is written, without requiring any changes whatsoever, just to rush it through before the end of the year.NaturalNewsand other health freedom organizations intend to fight this effort, hoping to stall the bill until the newCongresscan enter the picture and hopefully interject some common sense into the negotiations.

Please don't feed the monster

If signed into law by the President (who is sure to sign it), this Food Safety Bill would provide yet more power and funding to one of the most dangerous monsters our nation has ever known: TheFDA. This is the agency responsible for the death of more Americans than all the wars our nation has ever been involved with -- combined! (http://www.naturalnews.com/030461_S...)

The idea that we're going to save a few lives from food poisoning while subjectingeveryoneto yet another layer ofBig Governmenttyranny is so abhorrent and downright evil that if our country's founding fathers saw all this going on, they would be stunned into silence that it's happening in "the land of the free." Fresh milk being criminalized? You've got to be kidding...

Only they're not kidding. The FDA is the agency that has raided vitamin companies (http://www.naturalnews.com/021791.html), arrestednutritional supplementmanufacturers and ordered the destruction of books containing stevia recipes. This is the agency that censors the scientific truth aboutnaturalfoods like cherries and walnuts (http://www.naturalnews.com/029698_c...) while promoting the outright fraud and quackery of the pharmaceutical industry.

And now the FDA is to be rewarded for its malfeasance with yet MORE power andauthority?

This is how Washington works, folks. The government always thinks it's here to save you, and the Democrats want Big Government to be your nanny and "take care of you." (The Republicans, for their part, just want to bail out the wealthy banksters with your money.) And yet, when it all comes down to it, these people are justtyrantswho have forgotten American history and abandoned the Constitution and its founding principles.

Mark my words: Five years down the road, when the FDA's armed "food police" are running rampant across America, arresting farmers and imprisoning lettuce growers, people will be appalled, and they'll wonder, "How could we have let this happen!?" The answer is right here: You let it happen because you allowed Big Government to rule overthe food supply. And if there's one thing we know about Big Government, it's thatit always wants to get bigger.

It always wants more power. More authority. More funding. And more excuses to function as a dictatorship that rules over the American people.

The Food Safety Modernization Act is to thefood supplywhat the Patriot Act is to the Bill of Rights. We must make every effort to prevent this from becoming law, lest we find ourselves living under afood dictatorshipwhere only dead, fumigated or irradiated food will be allowed to be sold to the public. The "food irradiation plot" has been the plan from the very beginning of all this (http://www.naturalnews.com/023015_f...).

Of course, once the real food is all criminalized and outlawed, there's alwayssoylent green. That might not be too far off, come to think of it.

Raiding and Regulating the New Enemy in the War on Drugs: Rawesome 'Foodies'

Eric Blair
Activist Post

As if the prohibition of non-corporate drugs wasn't already enough of a tragedy of liberty, the Feds are now increasingly arming themselves to raid peaceful organic farms, food Co-Ops, and even Amish dairies over raw milk.

This past week the Los Angeles Times reported that policeman, with guns drawn, raided a private organic food store in Venice California called Rawesome Foods:

With no warning one weekday morning, investigators entered an organic grocery with a search warrant and ordered the hemp-clad workers to put down their buckets of mashed coconut cream and to step away from the nuts.
Then, guns drawn, four officers fanned out across Rawesome Foods in Venice. Skirting past the arugula and peering under crates of zucchini, they found the raid's target inside a walk-in refrigerator: unmarked jugs of raw milk.

One of the shocked owners was quoted saying, "There's a medical marijuana shop a couple miles away, and they're raiding us because we're selling raw dairy products?"  As if either one being raided by the armed thugs of Corporate-Federal tyranny is acceptable. This would seem to be the most obvious abuse of our inalienable human rights, and the sovereignty over our own physical being; purely designed to intimidate those who wish freely to choose what they ingest into their own bodies.

When we witness the utter absurdity of the war on marijuana, and now raw milk, the hypocrisy over health safety clearly tells us that much more is behind their continued prohibition in many of the United States.  The corporate masters simply can't allow us to have these rights or their cartels would lose control over our bodies.  Incidentally, it is estimated that at least 75% of our diet is now patented GMO foods.

The controllers know that this health-safety hypocrisy is too obvious to continue legislating against overwhelming public will, so they must create commercial statutes and regulations written by the chemical and food cartels themselves.  Then they use the local authorities to enforce their monopolies to the detriment of true free markets, authentic health safety, and individual liberty.

Now that it is becoming clear that marijuana will indeed be legalized in California or elsewhere -- perhaps not this year, but soon -- the corporate robber barons are rushing in regulations to squeeze out the small farmer.  In a recent Associated Press story this process was referred to as the "Wal-Marting" of weed:

After weathering the fear of federal prosecution and competition from drug cartels, California's medical marijuana growers see a new threat to their tenuous existence: the 'Wal-Marting' of weed.
The Oakland City Council on Tuesday will look at licensing four production plants where pot would be grown, packaged and processed into items ranging from baked goods to body oil. Winning applicants would have to pay $211,000 in annual permit fees, carry $2 million worth of liability insurance, and be prepared to devote up to 8 percent of gross sales to taxes.
A similar bullying tactic occurs with raw milk sales, where "commercial feed licenses" must be applied -- a process which varies from state to state.  Additionally, there are also proposals that will make the small commercial farmer register and tag individual livestock, while large multinationals will need only one tag per barn load, yet again defeating the little guy through economics. Whenever a new grassroots trend business begins its free-market climb, the elite find a way to coral the market.  It's happening to organic foods, natural supplements, and even biofuels.

It's worth noting, the strategy they use to dominate products like biofuels is to create a quality standard to qualify for commercial sales, where the producer must have each batch tested to meet these standards before selling their product.  The catch is that these tests can run in the thousands of dollars, therefore a small producer who may only produce 5000 gallons per batch can no longer afford to test their product and sell for a profit, while the big boys can.

And once the elite have total control they can easily manipulate food shortages for a number of desired outcomes to benefit their agenda.  These are the small battles that "free market" Libertarians refer to when they scream about big government and over-regulation.  Surely, some liberal raw "foodies" are now getting the message when their freedom to be healthy is being threatened by tyrannical corporate regulation.

"This is about control and profit, not our health," said Aajonus Vonderplanitz, co-founder of Rawesome Foods. "How can we not have the freedom to choose what we eat?"  Incidentally, John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods, describes his awakening from liberal to libertarian views in his book Be the Solutionprecisely because of this Corporate-Federal hijacking of healthy products.  The owners of Rawesome foods and others like them must realize that they are in the same battle as private medical marijuana Co-Ops and small organic farmers.  They all must continue to thrive as they play a key role in defeating the multinational food powerhouses, building local self-sufficiency, and restoring personal freedom.

Of course, all of this "regulation" is done in the name of our safety because, you know, the sheep need their shepherd. That is why the U.N. and the World Health Organization have been working hard for many years (since 1963) to quietly create an international standard for controlling natural foods and health products called Codex Alimentarius -- Latin for "food code."  Many good pro-natural health progressives and and civil libertarians are teaming up to defeat proposed freedom-shredding regulations.

Using Local Organic Cooperatives to Defeat Globalists

Eric Blair
Activist Post

When I count from zero to five, you will become wide awake and feeling great; your vision will be clear, your consciousness will easily decode this illusory matrix, your humanity will return, and your fierce determination to be a free sovereign individual will be fully restored.

Zero...one...two...three...four...FIVE. Wakey, wakey, wide awake and feeling great!

Okay, you're awake, back among the human tribe.  Now what? You are not alone in wondering what is the best way to fight the globalists.  There is a vastly growing human tribe that understands your frustration of feeling like a helpless fly caught in an inescapable spider web.  It can seem defeating the more we learn about the criminal nature of the ruling elite; their plans, their desire to have absolute control, and their infrastructure that's darn near complete to achieve their goals.  However, there is an incredibly easy solution and powerful weapon for defeating the elite -- it's called local food.

You see, the origin of this control system goes way back to when one tribe put food under lock and key, then subsequently gained wealth and a near monopoly on all human sustenance.  It's very simple really:  who ever controls the food controls humanity.  More recently, this sinister elite tribe also figured out that they can control humanity through money, ultimately through debt, serviced by their mind-control propaganda media machine.  However, this system of money creation and the resulting prison of debt is an elaborate illusion, while food and water, and liberty and love are real. This is precisely why we will be triumphant against the New World Order.

The local food revolutions happening all over the world are scarring the daylights out of the elite controllers.  Many small communities have formed quasi-underground organic cooperatives, where one neighbor may provide eggs, another vegetables or salsa, another homemade pasta, and another makes blankets and so on. There are many great resources on how to start and support a local co-op, but the concept is very easy.  Create a menu of what local producers can provide, then locals can place weekly orders from them, as well as add their own prepared items to the menu.  The group can support this cooperative with a blog or website for up-to-date orders and menu changes.

These co-ops can act as trading posts in private homes where currency is not really necessary. Sure, it may be easier to peg an item's value to the dollar for easier valuations, but money doesn't necessarily have to exchange hands. Additionally, it represents a truly free market which can potentially grow to provide for all of the necessities and desires of the community's participants -- fulfilled by the participants themselves, thus creating self-sufficiency at the local level. Are you starting to see how this is a stake in the heart of the elite's control grid?

Incidentally, the globalists know how powerful this movement can become, and they are working very hard to squeeze the small backyard food producer wherever they can.  A recent example of their methods is wonderfully outlined in Mike Adams' article The government war on raw milk is an attack against food freedom, where he writes:
State and federal regulatory agencies, spurred on by the monopolistic business practices of the dairy industry, have set out to criminalize the sale of raw milk. They've raided raw milk resellers, arrested raw milk marketers and seized countless gallons of raw milk to be destroyed.
Raw milk, the bureaucrats say, is dangerous because it hasn't been sanitized yet. Raw milk is "dirty" while cooked, pasteurized or irradiated milk is "clean." And Big Brother thinks you're not supposed to eat "dirty" foods like raw milk.
Sure, you can smoke yourself into a lifetime of cancer -- that's fully approved by the government. You can slather your body with personal care products laced with cancer-causing chemicals, because that's also approved by the government. You can drink brain-busting aspartame, chow down on diabetes-promoting MSG, or swallow any number of mouthfuls of processed foods laced with a thousand different synthetic chemicals that probably cause everything from cancer to Alzheimer's. Go take a swim in the Gulf of Mexico and soak up some Corexit dispersant chemicals -- the government doesn't protect you from any of that.
There is also draconian legislation proposed that will make the small commercial farmer register and tag individual livestock, while large multinationals will need only one tag per barn load, thus defeating the little guy through economics. They plan to use "food safety" as the excuse to slow down this movement; however, the small passage above clearly states the ridiculous nature of any such safety motivations for this legislation.  We have truth on our side and we must demand food freedom.  In fact, as sovereign human beings, we should have full liberty over what we ingest regardless of the "possible" damage it may cause us.  There is plenty of what former Monsanto executive and current head of the FDA, Michael Taylor, approves for our consumption that should be openly labeled premeditated poisoning, while things like raw milk and marijuana are being prohibited.  The very word prohibition means "Screw your freedom!"

So folks, have you recently been reborn into the human race from your deep slumber as sheep and want to defeat the New World Order?  Here are your marching orders:  Find your local co-op and contribute anything you can; a product, a service like blog development, or simply volunteer your time to solicit new participants. It's an easy sell as people don't necessarily have to be fully-awake to see the benefits of such a program, especially as food shortages and increased prices become more evident. Use your energy to make the cooperative grow to be as cashless and self-sufficient as possible, while serving as much of the community as possible. And, finally, organize your co-op to lobby for food freedom on a political level.  (Obviously, if your local community doesn't have a cooperative, start one, perhaps piggy-backing off a nearby co-op).  Below is a powerful example of what a single family has been able to achieve on a tiny suburban lot.
If fully developed, free-market cooperatives could expand beyond food and products to cover services like mechanics, alternative wellness, or house painting -- and perhaps even alternative energies. Once established, there is nothing the globalists can do to stop it (especially if barter systems are used and no money actually changes hands).  The manipulators may take away the value of the dollar, or your job, and they'll surely engage in all of their other inhumane endeavors, but they will never be able to take away your community's basic human necessity if it's provided by strong local cooperatives.

With local self-sufficiency we will defeat the globalists and Liberty, Love, and Peace will Prevail, because everything else is their manufactured illusion.  Take one red pill and call me in the morning.
