Are you ready for rampant inflation? Well, unfortunately it looks like it might be headed our way. The U.S. monetary base has absolutely exploded over the last couple of years, and all that money is starting to filter through into the hands of consumers. Commodity prices are absolutely skyrocketing, and it is inevitable that those price increases will show up in our stores at some point soon. The U.S. dollar has already been slipping substantially, and now there is every indication that the Fed is hungry to start printing even more money. All of these things are going to cause a rise in inflation. Not that we aren’t already seeing inflation in many sectors of the economy. Airline fares for the holiday season are up 20 to 30 percent above last year’s rates. Double-digit increases in health insurance premiums are being reported from coast to coast. The price of food has been quietly sneaking up even at places like Wal-Mart. Meanwhile the U.S. government insists that the rate of inflation is close to zero. Anyone who actually believes the government inflation numbers is living in a fantasy world. The U.S. government has been openly manipulating official inflation numbers for several decades now. But we really haven’t seen anything yet. As increasingly larger amounts of paper money are dumped into the economy, we are eventually going to see the worst inflation in American history. The only real question is how far down the road are we going to get before it happens.
Take a few moments and digest the chart below. It shows just how dramatically the U.S. monetary base has been expanded recently….
Up to this point this dramatic expansion of the U.S. monetary base has not caused that much inflation because U.S. government borrowing has soaked most of it up and U.S. banks have been hoarding cash and have been building up their reserves.
However, this situation will not last forever. Eventually all this cash will make its way through the food chain and into the hands of U.S. consumers.
But what is even more troubling is the dramatic spike in commodity prices that we have seen in 2010.
Wheat futures have surged 63 percent since the month of June. Wheat has recently been selling well above 7 dollars a bushel on the Chicago Board of Trade.
But wheat is far from alone. In his recent column entitled “An Inflationary Cocktail In The Making“, Richard Benson listed many of the other commodities that have seen extraordinary price increases over the past year….

Now, as those price increases enter the chain of production do you think that there is any chance that they will not cause inflation?
Do you think there is any chance at all that producers and retailers will not pass those costs on to consumers?
It is time to face facts.
Those cost increases are going to filter all the way through the system and your paycheck is soon not going to stretch nearly as far.
Inflation is coming.
Many savvy investors understand what is going on right now. That is one reason why gold and silver are absolutely soaring at the moment.
The price of gold set another record high on Friday for the sixth straight day.
Silver has also experienced extraordinary gains recently, and the U.S. Mint has officially raised their wholesale pricing above spot on American Silver Eagles from $1.50 to $2.00.
Meanwhile, there are even more rumblings that the Fed wants to print lots more money. On Friday, the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, William Dudley, stated that the high unemployment and the low inflation that the United States is experiencing right now are “wholly unacceptable”….
“Further action is likely to be warranted unless the economic outlook evolves in such a way that makes me more confident that we will see better outcomes for both employment and inflation before long.”
During his remarks, Dudley even mentioned what the effect of another $500 billion increase in the Fed’s balance sheet would be.
Now keep in mind, this is not just another “Joe” who is making these remarks.
This is the president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York – the most important of all the regional Fed banks.
In recent weeks it is almost as if you can hear Fed officials salivate as they consider the prospect of flooding the economy with even more money.
Up to this point, very little has worked to stimulate the dying U.S. economy. The Federal Reserve and the Obama administration are getting nervous as the American people become increasingly frustrated about the economic situation.
So will flooding the economy with even more money and causing even more inflation do the trick?
Well, no, but what inflated GDP figures will do is enable Obama and the Fed to say: “Look the economy is growing again!”
But if a flood of paper money causes the value of goods and services produced in the U.S. to go up by 5 percent but the real inflation rate is 10 percent, are we better off or are we worse off?
It doesn’t take a genius to figure that one out.
So don’t get fooled by “economic growth” numbers. Just because more money is changing hands doesn’t mean that the U.S. economy is doing better.
In fact, many American families are going to be financially shredded by the coming inflation tsunami.
Just think about it.
How far will your paycheck go when a half gallon of milk is 10 dollars and a loaf of bread is 5 dollars?
Already, it is incredibly difficult for the average American family of four to get by on $50,000 a year.
So how much money will we need when rampant inflation starts kicking in?
And do you think that your employers will actually give you pay raises to keep up with all of this inflation?
Not in these economic conditions.
In fact, median household incomes are declining from coast to coast all over the United States.
Earlier this year, Ben Bernanke promised Congress that the Federal Reserve would not “print money” to help the U.S. Congress finance the exploding U.S. national debt.
Did any of you believe him at the time?
Did any of you actually believe that the Federal Reserve would act responsibly and would attempt to keep the money supply and inflation under control?
The reality is that the entire Federal Reserve system is predicated on perpetual inflation and a perpetually expanding national debt.
Whatever wealth you and your family have been able to scrape together is going to continue to be whittled away month after month after month by the hidden tax of inflation.
And unfortunately, as discussed above, inflation is about to get a whole lot worse.

Pastor Terry Jones was recently sent a security bill of $180,000 by the local authorities for his "burn the Koran" uproar. Pastor Jones is clearly another religious hack pushing hatred and division instead of love and peace, but he is still an American citizen with the right to protest and burn whatever book he wishes. His stunt was divisive and an obvious attempt to stir the pot, but for the police to charge a tax-paying citizen for securing an event that never happened is just, well, mind-boggling.
Sure some people who may be disturbed by Jones' prejudice and hate will say, "Right on, the public shouldn't have to pay for protecting that idiot." Much like they did when the Balloon Boy's father was charged restitution for the turmoil he caused. Ultimately, both turned out to be fabricated non-events driven by ridiculous levels of media hype. If the public seeks compensation, it seems more appropriate to target the mainstream media's advertising sales during their 24-hour media glorification of these non-events.
Charging private citizens seems to be a growing trend by public police forces, apparently to cover their budget shortfalls. Anchorage police have begun sending bills to people if officers have to make more than eight trips per year to their homes. In the UK, police sent a man a bill when their car was damaged pursuing the victim's stolen vehicle. These are extreme cases but the precedents threaten to turn the police into a "private" security force.
Consequently, as police and sheriff departments face more cutbacks, they are also increasingly telling citizens (and criminals) what types of crimes they'll respond to. In a recent article titled Third World America, Macleans reported:

In February, the board of commissioners of Ohio’s Ashtabula County faced a scene familiar to local governments across America: a budget shortfall. They began to cut spending and reduced the sheriff’s budget by 20 per cent. A law enforcement agency staff that only a few years ago numbered 112, and had subsequently been pared down to 70, was cut again to 49 people and just one squad car for a county of 1,900 sq. km along the shore of Lake Erie. The sheriff’s department adapted. “We have no patrol units. There is no one on the streets. We respond to only crimes in progress. We don’t respond to property crimes,” deputy sheriff Ron Fenton told Maclean’s. The county once had a “very proactive” detective division in narcotics. Now, there is no detective division. “We are down to one evidence officer and he just runs the evidence room in case someone wants to claim property,” said Fenton. “People are getting property stolen, their houses broken into, and there is no one investigating. We are basically just writing up a report for the insurance company.”
Coincidentally, governments are being forced into more cutbacks just as police units are introducing the idea of charging victims for their security services. In other words, as local and state economies worsen by design, we can expect to see more cutbacks and more "billing" for public security. Some experts have predicted "IMF riots" to take place in America if the economic collapse continues.
We know that big corporations like Monsanto and Disney can afford private mercenaries such as Blackwater -- fully equipped for high-level espionage, with a full-blown private air force, and even tactical weapons. But who will protect average American citizens against such corporate-government thuggery, let alone desperate petty thieves, if not the local public servants?
As America continues to implode, it appears that security will go to the highest bidder, leaving average citizens to fend for themselves. Perhaps we should have seen it coming with the start of the privatization boom of security and intelligence gathering since the War on Terror was declared, which resulted in a massive "Top Secret" Surveillance-Industrial Complex. The ramifications of this privatization are only now becoming clear, as it was reported that an Israeli-owned organization was in charge of tracking, tracing, and databasing peaceful American activists on behalf of the oil and gas industry in Pennsylvania. It's already obvious that property taxes are no longer sufficient to pay the security bills.
Paul Craig Roberts warned in his article "The Year America Dissolved" that local security will likely be controlled by warlord clans after the collapse. First, it seems be taking the form of local mafia gangs collecting "protection" money from businesses, churches, and citizens. Perhaps it is time we listen to Ohio Judge Alfred Mackey who, after deep cuts to the local sheriff's department, advised citizens to carry guns for protection.

“Moderate” RINO Colin Powell Calls for Tidal Wave of Illegal Students

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell said over the weekend that he has illegal immigrants working on his house.
“;They’re all over my house, doing things whenever I call for repairs, and I’m sure you’ve seen them at your house. We’ve got to find a way to bring these people out of the darkness and give them some kind of status,”; he said on NBC’s Meet the Press.
The DREAM effort to legalize criminal behavior is “;bi-partisan.”; It was cooked up by Sen. Orin Hatch, a Utah Republican, and Sen. Richard Durbin, an Illinois Democrat.
The DREAM Act web portal teaches “;undocumented students”; how to break the law, including how they can receive in-state tuition and fleece legal U.S. citizens. The site also urges illegal aliens to contact Congress and tell them to pass the DREAM Act.
Last week Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid announced he will add the amnesty legislation as an amendment to the defense authorization bill. Reid had previously expressed doubt that he could find the votes to pass the act.
Polls reveal Americans are opposed to allowing illegal aliens from attending public colleges. AQuinnipiac University national poll conducted earlier this month indicated 68% of Americans oppose granting “;amnesty”; to illegal immigrants and favor stricter enforcement of immigration laws. By a 60%-to-28% margin, respondents disapproved of the way Obama is handling illegal immigration, the poll found.
A McClatchy-Ipsos poll conducted in May showed that 64 percent of registered voters support Arizona’s immigration law and would back similar laws in their own states.
Moreover, a Rasmussen poll determined in 2007 that voters oppose the Dream Act Amnesty by 59% vs. 22%. “;Parallel polling also indicated that support for versions of Amnesty was much softer than the intense opposition to Amnesty. Many Americans fervently oppose illegal immigration and any form of Amnesty for illegal immigrants because they are aware of the detrimental impact both have on American citizens and the health of America as a nation,”; notes ALIPAC, the Americans for Legal Immigration PAC.
On Sunday, Powell chastised Americans for opposing illegal immigration. “We can’t be anti-immigration,” Powell told NBC, blurring the line between illegal and legal immigration. “Immigrants are fueling this country. Without immigrants, America would be like Europe or Japan with an aging population and no young people coming in to take care of it. We have to educate our immigrants. The DREAM Act is one way to do that.”
Powell did not address the fact that allowing illegal immigrant students will encourage even more illegals to enter the country.
“;Congress needs to look toward an immigration system that enforces rule of law, maintains security, and promotes the economy. Such a system can be achieved by robustly enforcing immigration laws, securing the border, reforming the visa system, and working with Mexico and other appropriate countries on law enforcement/public safety issues as well as free market initiatives,”; the Heritage Foundation explains on its website.
Following negative reaction to his comments, Powell’s office said that he “;misspoke.”;
“;I don’t hire illegal immigrants,”; Powell said in a statement today. “;On Meet the Press yesterday, I referred to illegal immigrants working around my house. I was referring to the many service contractors who work in my neighborhood, using mostly immigrant workers, who do good work. Some may well be ‘illegal.’ There are 11 million illegal immigrants in this country and most are working somewhere in our economy,”; reports USA Today.

Drug-resistant 'superbugs' hit 35 states, spread worldwide

Bacteria that are able to survive every modern antibiotic are cropping up in many U.S. hospitals and are spreading outside the USA, public health officials say.
The bugs, reported by hospitals in more than 35 states, typically strike the critically ill and are fatal in 30% to 60% of cases. Israeli doctors are battling an outbreak in Tel Aviv that has been traced to a patient from northern New Jersey, says Neil Fishman, director of infection control and epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania and president of the Society of Healthcare Epidemiologists.
The bacteria are equipped with a gene that enables them to produce an enzyme that disables antibiotics. The enzyme is called Klebsiella pneumoniae carbapenamase, or KPC. It disables carbapenam antibiotics, last-ditch treatments for infections that don't respond to other drugs.

One Fired; Chief Seeks Charges in Taped Beating

Three Dallas officers may face charges in connection with assault

One Dallas police officer has been fired and three may face felony charges in the taped beating of a chase suspect.
Officer Kevin Randolph was fired Wednesday in connection with the excessive force investigation. He, along with Officer Paul Bauer, may face misdemeanor assault and official oppression charges, as well as felony charges of tampering with or fabricating physical evidence in connection with the Sept. 5 beating of Andrew Collins.
Officer Henry Walter Duetsch may also face a felony charge for tampering with evidence. He returned to a squad car and turned the dashboard camera away from the assault, said Dallas Police Chief David Brown.
Brown said Wednesday he is recommending the charges to the Dallas County district attorney.
The officers pursued Collins for allegedly riding his motorcycle on a South Dallas sidewalk at about 9:15 p.m. After he was stopped in the 4900 block of South Lamar Street, officers beat him with a police baton and fists while he was on the ground. It is not clear from the video if Collins voluntarily pulled over or was bumped by the squad car.
Randolph hit Collins repeatedly with his baton and his partner, Bauer, struck Collins with his fist, police said. Off camera, Collins can be heard begging for mercy.
Collins had visible bruises on his thigh and blood-clotting, police said.
Video from a second car arriving after Collins was handcuffed recorded the scene for several minutes. Then an officer can be seen walking toward the car, whistling. The camera then moves so Collins and the officers are no longer visible.
The next day, an anonymous tip left on the desk of a Dallas police sergeant asked the officer to pull video of the chase and crash. On Sept. 8, Brown viewed the video and called in the FBI to investigate possible civil rights violations.
By Monday, police had interviewed 30 people about Collins' arrest, including all of the 22 officers who responded. None of the officers were supervisors.
Brown asked for calm and trust in the police department from Dallasresidents when they see the video, which was released after his news conference Wednesday.
"Every citizen deserves a measure of respect," he said. "As chief of police for the city of Dallas, I expect citizens to hold me accountable for insuring that Dallas officers treat all citizens with fairness and compassion. No one is above the law of this great country. I am appealing to the calmer voices of the community and the police department to examine the evidence in this case and the department's investigative thoroughness and transparency."
Brown added that though there was early speculation the assault was race-related, the investigation has not revealed evidence to support those claims.
"We currently don't have evidence to that effect, and we have to deal with the facts, and the facts have to matter before we jump to those conclusions," said Brown.
Collins is black. Of the 22 total officers who responded to the scene, at least two are Hispanic. One of the 22 officers is black. She arrived at the scene after the arrest to wait with the motorcycle for a wrecker, Brown said.
Brown cited a transcript of the dash-cam video during the pursuit to indicate that raw emotion and premeditation were factors in the assault, not Collins' race.
"'Keep us going, I'm gonna kick the sh*t out of him,'" Brown read from transcript.
No racial slurs were heard on the radio transmissions or recordings, he said.
In addition to the three officers facing charges, three additional officers -- Jeremy James Francis, Robert James Kamphouse and Daniel Stephen Malouf -- have been placed on restricted duty while the investigation continues.
Those officers were seen in the video on top of Collins, but Brown said investigators weren't able to make out what the men were doing because the red and blue police lights distorted the video.
Brown said he delayed release of the dash-cam video for 10 days because investigators continued to find evidence, including seven additional dash-cam videos and witness reports. He also said he wanted to release the video near the end of the investigation, when there was a resolution for the officers involved.
Other officers who arrived at the scene will be interviewed during the Internal Affairs investigation. In addition, the FBI will conduct a concurrent investigation into possible civil rights violations.
"I expect officers observing any of their peers violating the law or the department's rules to report these violations immediately," Brown said. "No one incident should define the integrity or leadership or character of the Dallas Police Department. The public's trust and confidence in the police department cannot and will not be compromised by the misconduct of a few officers."
Brown showed the video to civil rights and community leaders in a closed-door meeting and let them voice concerns.
"I have seen the video, and I realize we are still facing some issues in this nation and in this city," said Karry Wesley, the pastor of Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.
Collins attends Wesley's church. Wesley said Collins and his family are struggling with the assault.
"I am talking to the family and letting them know Chief Brown has made it perfectly clear, whatever they can do to cause them to feel at ease with whatever steps they need to take, he's available," he said.
Brown dropped a charge of resisting arrest against Collins on Monday.
Collins has an extensive criminal record that includes convictions on drug, weapons and drunk driving charges, according to Texas Department of Public Safety records. Five of his previous eight arrests were by Dallas police, including one in April on drug charges.
Randolph had been with the Dallas Police Department for a year and a half. Bauer has been on the force for less than two years, and Duetsch is a two-year DPD veteran.
Brown said he wants to review the pairing of young officers. All of the six officers who were disciplined were rookies.
J.J. Koch, Randolph's attorney, told the Associated Press his client was fired because he had not completed his probationary period.
Randolph is "considered an at-will employee and they don't have the appeals rights that other officers have," Koch said. "Right now, it's simply a matter of waiting for the criminal process and waiting for the completion of the investigation and we'll address issues as they come up."
