While it has not been verified, an alleged audio recording of the shooting of Michael Brown, the unarmed teenager shot down by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, on August 9, has surfaced:
A man who lives near the scene of the shooting says he inadvertently recorded the shots that killed Brown, his lawyer, Lopa Blumenthal, told CNN. The man, who wished to remain unidentified, was recording a video chat with a friend when gunfire rang out in the background. Blumenthal said her client has already been interviewed by the FBI about the recording.
On the tape, you can hear six shots being fired, a short pause and than an addition four or five shots. An autopsy report released last week said that Brown was shot at least six times.

by Alice Speri An out-of-towner driving through Ferguson, Missouri on West Florissant Avenue on Friday morning might easily have missed the signs of the protests and clashes that have dominated this stretch of suburbs for the past two weeks. In fact, the signs are there: most stores are boarded up, with "open" signs sprayed over the wooden panels that used to be glass windows. The burnt down shell of the Quiktrip gas station — which is at once Ferguson's "Ground Zero" and its "Maidan" — is still there, surrounded by a metal fence that was not there a few days ago. The area got brand new "I heart Ferguson" signs, planted in every courtyard and hanging from every pole, and messages of hope and love are all over town — on colored signs drawn by children, or on the boards covering up the Ferguson Market and Liquor store, the site of looting last week.
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Authorities are responding to a report of an officer involved shooting in north St. Louis. It happened just before 1 p.m. Tuesday at McLaran and Riverview outside a market. Authorities say a man tried to rob the 5-Star Market convenience store with a knife. The store owner says he got into a dispute with the man. Police were called but the suspect refused to put down the weapon. He tried to attack police and was shot and killed.

CNN aired the footage Monday during an interview with eyewitness Piaget Crenshaw, who said she recorded it following the Aug. 9 shooting.
According to Crenshaw, the footage shows Michael Brown's body laying in the middle of the street as Wilson stood over him speaking to another officer.
"God bless his soul, the police shot this boy outside my apartment," Crenshaw could be heard saying on the video while crying. The video also picked up the voices of spectators near the crime scene.

A clash between the protesters and dozens of police officers in riot gear began less than 30 minutes after the curfew took effect and ended about 45 minutes later with the arrest of seven people, all charged with “failure to disperse,” officials said. A Twitter user who goes by the handle @TheePharoah and whose profile says he lives in St. Louis, Missouri, may have live-tweeted the killing of unarmed teenager Michael Brown. Rolling Stone national-affairs reporter Tim Dickinson curated this series of tweets from @TheePharoah, which all have time stamps that match up with the timeline of Brown's death. The alleged witness also tweeted a photo of Brown lying dead in the street while two police officers stand over him. The man claims to live on the residential street where the shooting occurred, and some of the photos show that he took the pictures from behind what appears to be the wooden slats of a porch.

The massacre of 20 children and 7 adults at the Sandy Hook elementary school last Friday was one more in a long line of atrocious mass murders committed in the USA. By now, four days later, an official version of events has more or less solidified to explain the chain of events. The familiar 'lone gunman' narrative has once more stoked the hot-button issue of gun control and left the general population as clueless as ever as to why people suddenly 'go postal' and target the most vulnerable members of society.
On closer inspection, however, there is clearly more to many of these mass shootings than meets the eye. Very often the earliest reports present information that directly contradicts key foundations of the final 'official' analysis of events. Granted, confusion is natural when a story breaks, but some of the initial reports conflict so completely with the lone gunman narrative that I'm going to compile them here and then try to put this tragedy in a more objective context. In his speech at the Sandy Hook Interfaith Prayer Vigil in Newtown, Connecticut on Sunday night, President Obama quoted the following biblical passage:
"So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

The traumatised Newtown community deserves the facts without the spin. Everyone touched by this brutal event deserves to know what really happened, so let's fix our eyes on what remains unseen...
An official with knowledge of a school shooting in Newtown, Conn. says 27 people were killed, including 18 children. The superintendent's office said the district had locked down schools in the city about 60 miles from New York City.
At least two people have reportedly died and eight more have been injured as a shooting broke out outside the Empire State Building in Manhattan, say police. The suspected attacker is said to be one of the dead.
Two people sustained shooting wounds and six more were injured in what the local affiliate of ABC channel describes as "a workplace dispute that spilled out onto the street."
The suspected gunman was fatally shot by the police and died on the scene. A weapon has been found near his body. Witnesses decribe the suspect to NBC as a tall Caucasian male in his twenties wearing a grey suit.
People at the scene say at least seven shots were heard.
"By the time I got there that man was lying dead, I was three feet in front of him. I heard a noise of like seven shots go off I thought it was a truck delivering materials, like they do in the morning. But when I turned my head I saw a man fall and he had a helmet in his hand so I just ran and I told everyone to run," an eyewitness told the Guardian.
The other person dead is a by-stander. Images from the street show a dead body of a white man in his middle ages wearing jeans and a cheked shirt; a red and black backpack is lying near him.
Some of the victims were found inside the lobby of the Empire State Building, say US media outlets, while some others were found in the street. The FDNY says their conditions range from minor injuries to not urgent.
The shooting happened near the intersection of 33rd Street and Fifth Avenue around 9:00 am local time, says CBS 2 broadcaster. It is not yet clear what led to the shooting and whether it was pre-mediated or not.
So far there is no apparent link to terrorism, the NYPD tells Reuters. Preliminary findings show the suspect had been fired the day before. Friday, as he returned to his workplace, he was stopped by the security who knew he had been sacked, so he decided to wait for his boss outside.
Mayor Bloomberg has arrived at the scene.
The FBI and police have drawn multiple forces to the scene. The area is cordoned off with the law enforcers not allowing people either to enter or leave the scene.

New York City officials say several people have been shot outside the Empire State Building and that the gunman is dead.
City police say three or four civilians have been wounded in the Friday morning shooting and that the shooter is dead.
A fire department spokesman says it received a call about the shooting just after at 9 a.m. Friday and that emergency units were on the scene within minutes.
The spokesman had no information about how many people were wounded or their conditions.

Within hours of the tragic shooting in Aurora, Colorado at a screening of the new Batman movie, the political machine is already gearing up to exploit the incident as a tool to demonize the second amendment and characterize Americans who are against big government as extremists.
A 6ft tall man dressed in black body armor and wearing a gas mask burst through an emergency exit door at the theater during a midnight screening of ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Batman movie, before making his way up the stairs and shooting people at random, according to reports.
The man also apparently set off a smoke or tear gas bomb, killing at least 14 people and injuring dozens more.
The gunman was arrested and early reports suggested an accomplice was still on the run, but police now say there was only one shooter.
“A 24-year-old suspect in is custody and an apartment building in north Aurora connected to the suspect was being evacuated and searched for possible explosives, “ reports the Denver Post.

A shooting at the University of Texas campus that was initially blamed on a lone nut took on a political aspect after it emerged that the incident coincided with a speech by second amendment expert John Lott about the right to concealed carry that was due to take place tonight but has since been cancelled.
The Associated Press is now reporting that police are investigating two separate crime scenes after a gunman opened fire inside a library then fatally shot himself early this morning. Authorities are still searching for a second suspect and the University is on lock down with all classes having been cancelled.
Shortly after the incident, the Austin-American Statesman somewhat sardonically reportedthat the John Lott event, which was organized by UT Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, had been cancelled as a result of the “unfortunate coincidence” of it falling on the same day as this morning’s incident.
“I don’t want to comment on any political aspects of this,” said Jeff Shi, the president of UT Students for Concealed Carry on Campus, “I hope everything turns out well and the only casualties are the bad guys.”
Was the timing of the shooting just an “unfortunate coincidence” or a deliberate ploy to undermine and cancel the Lott event amidst a nationwide push to allow students the right to concealed carry? With robberies and other crimes on campus soaring, more students are demanding they be authorized to protect themselves.
The timing of mass shootings, although thankfully in this case there were no victims aside from the gunman, routinely coincide with the passage of stringent gun laws or debates about concealed carry on campus.
The 2007 Virginia Tech massacre, in which the perpetrator Seung-Hui Cho, killed 32 people and wounded many others, was preceded by a campus gun ban that prohibited “unauthorized possession, storage or control” of firearms on campus. This prevented the dozens of victims from being able to properly defend themselves against the killer.
The only “political aspect” behind the “coincidence” of the shooting happening on the same day as the second amendment event is the fact that if the gunman or gunmen had been more successful in their rampage, students who had exercised their gun rights and adopted concealed carry would have been far more protected than those who had not.
Indeed, presuming that the danger is now over with the gunman dead, there would have been no better time than tonight for Lott to give his speech about Second Amendment issues on campus.
However, as a consequence of this amazing “coincidence,” Lott’s presentation has been postponed with no indication of when it will be rescheduled.
It remains to be seen whether the corporate media will play up the connection between the shooting and the Lott speech as a means of demonizing the Second Amendment, but given how the establishment has ceaselessly exploited mass shootings in the past to attack the rights of the victims to defend themselves, don’t be surprised if the talking points in reaction to this story start to take on this very character.

Austin has been a hot-bed of debate over the potential of state laws being passed that would make it legal for a person to carry a concealed handgun on college campuses.
