During Food Safety Vote: Hot mic catches senator saying agenda is "all rigged"
Chris Moody
The Daily Caller
A hot mic left on during a Senate vote Tuesday morning on the Food Safety Act caught a senator complaining that process of setting the agenda during the lame-duck session is “rigged.”
“It’s all rigged. The whole conversation is rigged,” said Colorado Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet. “The fact that we don’t get to a discussion before the break about what we’re going to do in the lame duck. It’s just rigged.”
The remark was picked up live on C-SPAN 2, although microphones are usually turned down during voting times. An aide quickly realized the mistake, jumped up and had the sound cut off.
Bennet Chief of Staff Guy Cecil stood by the senator’s comments.
“It’s something he’s been talking about from day one,” Cecil told The Daily Caller in an interview outside the Senate chamber. “The whole process being rigged against having a real conversation about tax cuts, the estate tax and the defense authorization. We’re not having a lot of those conversations. It’s just a symptom of Washington being broken.”

Nevada voting machines check Harry Reid’s name; voting machine techs SEIU members

Clark County is where three quarters of Nevada’s residents and live and where Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s son Rory is a county commissioner. Rory is also a Democratic candidate for governor.
Since early voting started, there have been credible reports that voting machines in Clark County, Nevada are automatically checking Harry Reid’s name on the ballot:
Voter Joyce Ferrara said when they went to vote for Republican Sharron Angle, her Democratic opponent, Sen. Harry Reid’s name was already checked.Ferrara said she wasn’t alone in her voting experience. She said her husband and several others voting at the same time all had the same thing happen.“Something’s not right,” Ferrara said. “One person that’s a fluke. Two, that’s strange. But several within a five minute period of time — that’s wrong.”Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax said there is no voter fraud, although the issues do come up because the touch-screens are sensitive. For that reason, a person may not want to have their fingers linger too long on the screen after they make a selection at any time.

Tea Party Express Senate Candidate Has Critic Muzzled

Alaska’s Joe Miller is described by the corporate media as the “insurgent candidate” and a “Tea Party favorite.” He was approved by the titular head of the trademark Tea Party, Sarah Palin, and received support for his Senate race from the Tea Party Express PAC, a neocon RINO organization masquerading as patriots.

On Sunday, it was reported that the editor of an online Alaska news site was roughed up and handcuffed at an event after he attempted to ask Miller a question.
“Tony Hopfinger, editor of the online Alaska Dispatch, told KTUU-TV that security pushed him as he tried to question Miller. He said he pushed back and that guards then detained him, accusing him of trespassing at the public event in Anchorage,” reports theAssociated Press. The security guards worked for Miller.
Hopfinger’s site is among the media outlets suing for access to Miller’s personnel record from his time as a government attorney. “Hopfinger was reportedly pressing Miller on whether the candidate had ever been reprimanded for politicking while working at the Fairbanks North Star Borough in 2008. Alaska Dispatch and other media have sued for the release of records related Miller’s time at the borough,” the Alaska Dispatch reported on Sunday. Questions have been raised about whether Miller resigned to avoid being fired and whether he once used borough computers for his own political activities.
Tony Hopfinger also writes for the Huffington Post.
Shannyn Moore, writing for the Huffington Post today, claims Joe Miller has his own “personal militia,” an obvious attempt to characterize Miller as a “rightwing extremist” and a radical Tea Party member. “Joe Miller’s narcissistic, militant disorder has come to full light with the detainment of journalist Tony Hopfinger. Political candidates with their own mercenaries are a recipe for disaster,” Moore writes.
As noted above, Miller is supported by the trademark version of the Tea Party where RINOs are the order of the day. He was blessed by Sarah Palin, who is supported by top neocons and talks about bombing Iran.
The Tea Party Express was formulated by Russo Marsh & Rogers, a neocon public relations firm based in Sacramento, California. In 2004, the PAC created Move America Forward, a pro-Iraq slaughter organization that has Melanie Morgan as chairperson. In 2006, Morgan suggested that New York Times editor Bill Keller be killed for the crime of “treason” after the Times’ reported on the government spying on Americans.
It does not look good. A trademark Tea Party candidate is funded in his Senate run by the usual neocon warmongers. He has hired a goon squad that acts like ushers at a Mussolini event. It is another example demonstrating that the trademark RINO Tea Party is more of the same. It hijacked the real Tea Party and now sells the same old Republican Party snake oil.
If these guys get into office in November, it will be business as usual.

Senate Bill on Food Safety Stalls
Editor's Note: This is some major league propaganda. This article is clearly biased toward trusting our government regulatory agencies to behave with an even hand. They want more control over food and they want it now. Start with an innocent death, and then jump to put the "blame" on a "stubborn" senator and an "unusual coalition of left-and-right-wing advocates." The sentence in bold says it all. Sure we need to protect our food, but at what expense to our freedoms?
Gardiner Harris
NY Times
WASHINGTON — After his mother died from eating contaminated peanut butter, Jeff Almer went to Washington to push for legislation that might save others from similar fates. And then he went again. And again. And again.
Nearly two years have passed since Shirley Almer’s death. In that time, food contamination involving chocolate chip cookie dough and eggs has sickened thousands more.
But the Senate has still not acted to fix many of the flaws in the nation’s food safety system — although a bill to do so has broad bipartisan support, is a priority for the Obama administration and has the backing of both industry and consumer groups. The House passed its version of the bill more than a year ago.
“It’s so frustrating,” said Mr. Almer, of Savage, Minn. “I don’t even know who to blame.”
The blame lies with a tight Senate calendar, a stubborn senator from Oklahoma and an unusual coalition of left- and right-wing advocates for small farmers who have mounted a surprisingly effective Internet campaign. Their messages have warned, among other untruths, that the bill would outlaw organic farming.

Senate Blocks BP Investigation
Comment: I guess BP loaded the Republicans coffers this time. Brilliant attempt to rouse the "Rustics" into action. Unfortunately, it will, as usual, fall on deaf and dimwitted ears! Thanks, Kurt! Keep up the good work!

Damn Rustics. It seems they think it is doable to investigate a transnational oil corporation owned by the Square Mile London financial district, the House of Windsor, the Club of the Isles, and last but not least the Lord of Mann, known to you commoners as Queen Elizabeth II, England’s Lord Proprietor.
The Merry Old Monarchs have come a long way since Queen Victoria acquired Jardine Matheson Holdings, the company responsible for addicting millions of Chinese to opium.
The Richest Lady in the World, through her Venetian-style fondo (trust), owns castles, jewelry, gobs of art, and a portfolio of blue chip stocks and bonds and real estate investments around the world. Her investment portfolio, as of the late 90s, was estimated to be worth £3 billion (for you Rustics, that is $4.66 billion). As the Doge of the financier-oligarchy, she is the largest land-holder in the world. Most of it was stolen from natives.
Do you think the Black Nobility of Germany and the City of London are about to allow a few lowly senators in a former colony investigate the largest environmental disaster in history? Not.
Now please move along. Nothing to see here.
