Former CIA Agent Is Being Charged with Terrorism and Murder Over Drone Strike

Two former CIA employees will be charged with murder, terrorism, conspiracy, and waging war in Pakistan regarding the agency’s highly-criticized drone program in the Middle East. This week, Judge Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad high court in Pakistan ordered former CIA station chief, Jonathan Banks, and former CIA general counsel, John Rizzo (who gave the legal approval for the strikes), to be charged.

Though the United States has performed over 400 drone strikes in Pakistan since 2004, the charges stem specifically from a 2009 incident that killed the son and brother of Kareem Khan, a tribesman in North Waziristan. The United States and Pakistani governments claimed those killed were militants but offered no proof. Khan denies those allegations.

Army Staff Sergeant Joseph Hickman joined the Marines in 1985, and was on duty when three detainees held at a black site in Guantanamo Bay supposedly committed suicide. He insists the official version of events is impossible.

At the time of their deaths, Salah Ahmed Al-Salami, 37, from Yemen, Mani Shaman Al-Utaybi, 30, from Saudi Arabia, and Yasser Talal Al-Zahrani, 22, also from Saudi Arabia, had not been charged with any crimes.

In an interview with Vice News Hickman explained why he thinks the suicide version of events is impossible:

By analyzing CIA documents from earlier days, we can understand the programs of the Agency and its government cousins. 

Given the fact that the CIA’s umbrella research program, MKULTRA, went completely dark in 1962, and given the technological advances that have been made in the intervening years, we can draw inferences about present-day covert ops. 

Document: May 20, 1975; sent by CIA Inspector General, Donald F. Chamberlain, to the Director of Central Intelligence, William Colby. 

Subject: CIA activities at Fort Detrick, Maryland [in the 1952 period]. 

Fort Detrick was the center of US government chem/bio warfare research.

When will the American people learn that the government is filled with liars? The good news is that in the information age denial of facts is becoming much more difficult.

Today, the head of the CIA John Brennan apologized for hacking into US Senate computers to cover-up torture investigations, a charge he mockingly dismissed earlier this year.

Using very political language the CIA admitted their officers "acted improperly" and "inconsistent with the common understanding" of sharing classified data, and Brennan was forced to apologize to leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee for the breach.

What's most striking about this apology, is that Brennan told a bald-faced lie about these very allegations in March at the Council on Foreign Relations when he said:

"As far as the allegations of CIA hacking into the senate computers, nothing could be farther from the truth. We wouldn't do that. I mean, that's just beyond the scope of reason in terms of what we would do."

Former congressman Ron Paul advocates for abolishing the United States Central Intelligence Agency in a new op-ed where he condemns the CIA and its controversial enhanced interrogation practices.

On Sunday, the retired Texas lawmaker wrote on the website for the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity that “CIA covert actions across the globe have led to destruction of countries and societies and unprecedented resentment toward the United States.”

“For our own safety, end the CIA!” urged Paul, who served nearly three decades in Congress and thrice ran unsuccessfully for president before retiring early last year.

The significance of a forgotten CIA document: MKULTRA

This June 27, 1994, document is stored at the National Security Archive at The George Washington University. 

It was written by a CIA advisory committee, and forwarded to the Presidential Committee on Human Radiation Experiments, which was preparing public hearings at the time. 

The document has many interesting implications. In this article, I want to focus on two. The first point concerns the CIA mind control program, MKULTRA.

More evidence has been entered into the files of public record that terrorist organizations such as al-Qaeda, ISIS, and the al-Nusra Front are completely controlled by the CIA and other Western intelligence agencies. 

In fact, according to Nabil Na’eem, founding member of the Islamic Democratic Jihad Party and a former commander of al-Qaeda, all current al-Qaeda affiliates are nothing more than offshoots of an overarching CIA terror operation. He also claimed that these groups will eventually be turned against Saudi Arabia, despite the fact that Saudi Arabia has acted as a bankroller and facilitator for them for years on end. 

Ron Howard to direct "Mena", a Fact Based Tale about the 80's Drug Trafficking in Mena, Arkansas

Universal Pictures today closed a $1 million spec deal for Mena, a script by Gary Spinelli that has Ron Howard attached to direct. The film will be produced by Doug Davison with Imagine’s Brian Grazer, and with Kim Roth exec producing. This was a hot script auction, with Sony also bidding. Universal took it off the table with a $1 million offer, plus a blind script commitment in a deal brokered by Gersh.

Compromised: Clinton, Bush and the CIA

Deadline says the flick, based on a script by Gary Spinelli, will tell of “Barry Seal, a portly pilot who, in the 1980s, was a 300-pound gun runner, and drug trafficker who transported contraband for the CIA and the Medellin cartel. He was eventually shot to death by the latter in Baton Rouge. The title refers to Mena, Arkansas, where a lot of the illegal activity took place, under the noses of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, and then-Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton."

CIA and US State Dept. Sending Weapons and Supplies to Syrian Rebels: Report

The U.S. government has been delivering weapons, vehicles, sophisticated communications gear and advanced combat medical kits for two weeks via the CIA and State Department, according to a Washington Post report.

However, the CIA has played a significant role in arming the rebels for quite some time now as even The New York Times reported in June 2012. The US government has been assisting in the arming of the rebels in other ways as well.

There were also reports in August of U.S., Israeli and Jordanian commandos operating on Syrian soil with the rebels.

The latest Post report cites unnamed U.S. officials and Syrian figures who say that the CIA’s arms shipments have been “streaming into the country over the past two weeks.”

Benghazi Insiders Fear CIA: “You don’t jeopardize yourself, you jeopardize your family as well.”

A few days ago, President Obama, White House press secretary Jay Carney, and several Democratic members of Congress referred to the Benghazi attack as a “phony scandal.”

CNN is now reporting that “dozens of CIA operatives were on the ground during the Benghazi attack.” The fact that the CIA was in Benghazi is not new information; the second part of the Benghazi attack was on the CIA annex there (of course, that part of the tragedy was not well publicized).

The bigger – and more telling – part of the CNN report is this:

Sources now tell CNN that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing remains a secret. The CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy agency’s Benghazi secrets from ever leaking out.

The Obama administration is working awfully hard to keep information about a “phony scandal” from becoming public knowledge, aren’t they?

CIA investing in research aimed at modifying the Earth’s climate for unknown reasons

The US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is participating in funding a $630,000 study on geoengineering for reasons which are not entirely clear as of yet.

Geoengineering is the practice of using highly experimental techniques to modify the climate of the Earth in various ways, something which researchers like Dane Wigington contend is highly dangerous.

This particular 21-month-long study has a final report due in the fall of 2014 and was commissioned in concert with the National Academy of Sciences (NAS).

The costs will be split between the NAS, CIA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and NASA, according to Mother Jones.

Today Michael Morell, Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), resigned. According to Morell, it is only because he wants to spend more time with his family.

This resignation comes soon after a leak by a former CIA and National Security Agency (NSA) employee uncovered a massive Internet surveillance program, the gathering of millions of U.S. phone records from Verizon, a major intelligence official apparently lying under oath and much, much more.

Yet, according to Morell, his resignation has absolutely nothing to do with any of the many scandals that have recently been plaguing the Obama administration.

Investigative Reporter Gary Webb Who Linked CIA to Crack Sales Found Dead of Apparent Suicide

Gary Webb, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter who wrote a series of stories linking the CIA to crack cocaine trafficking in Los Angeles, is dead at age 49. We hear an 1998 interview with Gary Webb on Democracy Now! and we speak with his colleague, veteran investigative journalist Robert Parry. [includes rush transcript]

Gary Webb, a Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter who wrote a series of stories linking the CIA to crack cocaine trafficking in Los Angeles, is dead at age 49.

Webb was found Friday morning at his home in Sacramento County, dead of an apparent suicide. Moving-company workers called authorities after discovering a note posted on his front door that read, "Please do not enter. Call 911 and ask for an ambulance." Webb died of a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Sacramento County coroner’s office. He is survived by two sons and a daughter.

Gary Webb’s 1996 series in the San Jose Mercury News titled "Dark Alliance" revealed that for the better part of a decade, a Bay Area drug ring sold tons of cocaine to Los Angeles street gangs and funneled millions in drug profits to the CIA-backed Nicaraguan Contras.

It provoked a fierce reaction from the media establishment, which denounced the series. Following the controversy, San Jose Mercury News executive editor demoted Webb within the paper. He resigned and pushed his investigation even further in his book "Dark Alliance: The CIA, the Contras, and the Crack Cocaine Explosion."
