Media Attacks Assad as Terrorists Attack Civilians

Source
Brandon Turbeville

As the Syrian Easter celebration began to draw to a close, residents of Aleppo were met with rocket attacks that were apparently aimed at killing civilians. The attacks, which took place in government-held territory, were the result of Nusra/ISIS terrorists funded by the West to overthrow the secular government of Bashar al-Assad.

Syrian news reporters were on the ground shortly after the attacks so as to catch footage of victims being excavated from the rubble and others being treated for their wounds at the hospital.

Sources inside Syria have described the missiles that hit the Aleppo building as being much more advanced than those previously used by the terrorists, describing the result of their impact causing the building to “split in half.” This has led many to believe that the terrorists operating in Aleppo have been provided with weaponry that is much more sophisticated and powerful than that which they have been provided in the past.

Syria: America's Democratic Terrorists?

Tony Cartalucci

Making headlines recently has been Al Qaeda’s temporary seizure of the city of Idlib, in Idlib province, northern Syria. The embattled city lies just miles from NATO-member Turkey’s borders. With the Syrian Arab Army controlling the south of Idlib, it is clear that militants based in and supplied via Turkey took part in the operation, leading the Syrian government itself to accuse the NATO member of directly supporting Al Qaeda.

Reuters in its article, “Syrian military source alleges Turkish role in Idlib offensive,” noted:

A Syrian military source accused Turkey on Monday of helping Islamist rebels to stage an assault on Idlib, a provincial capital which fighters seized at the weekend.
The source declined to comment on the situation in Idlib, citing security considerations, but a monitoring group has confirmed the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front and allies now control Idlib and said the Syrian air force bombed the city on Monday.
For years, prominent Western papers, including the New York Times in their report, “C.I.A. Said to Aid in Steering Arms to Syrian Opposition,” have admitted that Turkey (as well as Jordan to the south) has harbored militants throughout the duration of the conflict, and has even hosted the CIA and other foreign intelligence agencies as they armed, trained, and coordinated with militants bound for Syria. It is a coincidence, we are expected to believe, that now Al Qaeda’s Syrian franchise, Jabhat al Nusra just so happens to be strongest in regions bordering Turkey, and its Arab accomplice, Jordan.

US General Recommends ''Shielding'' Terrorists In Syria

Brandon Turbeville

In what should come as no surprise to anyone who has followed the Syrian crisis, the top US commander in the Middle East, General Lloyd Austin, has apparently recommended that the US military “shield” the new death squad terrorists being trained by the United States who are soon to be deployed across the country.

Gen. Austin told Congress on Thursday that he was currently waiting on the White House's response to his recommendation.

The US has been supporting terrorists in Syria since the beginning of the crisis in late 2010 by a variety of means, most notably military, political, and financial. However, the US recently announced that it is going to openly train several thousand jihadist fighters to be deployed against the Syrian government.

Thus, it is very likely that it will be out of this new batch of terrorists that the United States, if Austin’s recommendations are accepted, will use as justification to begin engaging Assad’s forces.

Rebranding Al-Qaeda’s Jabhat Al Nusra as ''Moderates''

Maram Susli

The CIA-backed and armed Syrian rebel group, Hazm brigade disbanded and its members have defected to Al Qaeda-linked Jabhat Al Nusra (JAN) and ISIS. Hazm brigade also left behind a warehouse of US-provided weapons, including anti-tank TOW missiles, which JAN has seized.

With no one left to arm against the Syrian state but JAN, the US State Department has attempted to rebrand JAN as a non-Al Qaeda moderate force. The next step of the plan is to allow US proxy Qatar to openly arm JAN. However, the audacious campaign has so far been an abysmal failure.

No, John Kerry Doesn't Want To Negotiate With Assad

Brandon Turbeville

The recent hysteria surrounding John Kerry’s remarks regarding the necessity of negotiating with Bashar al-Assad has provoked both criticism and praise from a number of very different quarters. Unfortunately, however, the opinions of those up in either arms or exaltation are largely the result of misreporting, war psychosis, and simply reading headlines instead of articles.

While the chorus of the usual suspects of Neo-Con rightwing warmongers and Humanitarian Bomber/R2P leftists erupted in anger at the very thought of the United States inching away from total war in Syria, other commentators and analysts erupted for joy at what they saw as the US State Department tacitly admitting that they had lost the war and that they were going to be forced to accept Assad as the legitimate Syrian leader.

Both sides of the issue could largely agree the remarks meant that the United States was coming to terms that Assad had outlasted the attempts of the US to oust him.

Unfortunately, both sides were completely wrong as only a further reading of any mainstream article would have demonstrated.

Qatar/West Says Public Statement By Al-Nusra Will Wipe Away Jihadist Sins

Source
Brandon Turbeville

Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in late 2010, I have been writing repeatedly that there are no “moderate rebels” in Syria. Many other credible researchers and even mainstream news organizations, albeit significantly after the fact, have made similar statements in their own writings. In fact, I have even gone so far as to suggest that, if such a thing as a moderate rebel in Syria actually exists, then he must be brought forward for analysis.

After all, such a rare and mysterious being must be thoroughly studied so as to determine if he is a freak of nature or if there are more than just one of him.

Apparently, however, neither myself nor the other researchers mentioned above ever fully understood the process in which one becomes an alleged “rebel” and/or a moderate one.

Thankfully, that question has been answered by the Obama White House and the mainstream media organizations that work as domestic propaganda outlets.

Jihadi John: Another Known Terrorist Travels To Syria

Anthony Freda Art
Brandon Turbeville

In what has become an all-too familiar story to those with an attention span that goes back farther than one week, it has once again been revealed that a famed terrorist was known to and in close contact with Western intelligence agencies before and, presumably, during his notorious acts.

27-year-old Mohammed Emwazi has been identified as “Jihadi John,” the masked terrorist who appeared in the numerous staged beheading propaganda films depicting the killing of Western “aid workers,” “journalists,” and others.

It was already largely accepted that the terrorist star of the videos was from Britain. However, the exact identity of “Jihadi John” was not released to the public until Wednesday.

Already, the story is being presented as a failure of intelligence services and a tragic oversight that could only have been remedied with even greater police state powers being granted to the UK government.

Turkey's Invasion Of Syria Shows Turkish Connection To ISIS; NATO Agenda

Brandon Turbeville

Turkey has now officially proven that Israel and the United States are not the only nations that can brazenly violate the sovereignty of other countries, Syria in particular, without fear of reprisal due to NATO support and a blatant culture of aggression.

The Turkish invasion of Syrian soil on February 22 under the guise of protecting and securing the tomb of Sulayman Shah is case in point.

The tomb is largely recognized as a Turkish exclave since the early 1920s when, in 1921, it was agreed in the Treaty of Ankara that the Turks would be allowed to raise the Turkish flag over the tomb and place a small number of Turkish guards around the mausoleum given that Sulayman Shah bears such significance to Turkish history. The tomb is located about 23 miles from Turkey itself and thus is located inside Syrian territory.

Former Ambassador Robert Ford Admits "Conspiracy Theorists" Were Right - Jihadists Are Majority Of Rebels

Brandon Turbeville

Death squad operative Robert Ford has turned a number of heads recently with his surprising indictments of the so-called “moderate” rebels operating in Syria. Ford, who has long been one of the most vocal cheerleaders of the jihadists – having played a crucial role in organizing and arming them early on – is now openly admitting much of what many in the alternative media have been saying since the beginning of the crisis in 2010 – that al-Qaeda, Nusra, and other jihadist forces make up the overwhelming majority of the alleged “rebellion.”

Of course, there never was anything remotely “moderate” about any of the “rebels” operating under Ford’s tutelage or NATO’s direction. Despite the propaganda necessities of NATO and the US, a “moderate rebel” has yet to have been produced for analysis.

Ford’s willing deceitful adherence to the State Department line of the existence of such ephemeral and mysterious beings known as “moderate rebels” notwithstanding, his admission of the fact that jihadists and al-Qaeda fighters make up the majority of fighters in Syria is something that alternative media journalists and researchers have been labeled as conspiracy theorists for suggesting for years. After having been badgered and mis-labeled by mainstream media propagandists for nearly five years, the establishment may now freely admit what the alternative media analysts have known and reported the entire time.

US/Turkey Sign Deal to Arm Death Squads in Syria ...

...while the UN Calls for Assad Gov't Ceasefire Against Death Squads

Brandon Turbeville

According to a Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary and the US Embassy in Ankara, the United States and Turkey have officially signed an agreement that would see the training and equipping of the phantom “moderate” Syrian “rebels” wreaking havoc on the Syrian people.

The deal was signed Thursday evening by Turkish Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Feridun Sinirlioglu and U.S. Ambassador John Bass.

The U.S. Administration has been crowing for some time about a plan to train about 5,000 fighters per year for three years to fight against Assad in Syria and this agreement seems to be the public culmination of this specific plan. This assault on the Syrian government is, of course, being presented as an attempt to fight ISIS.

The U.S. military is also stating that it plans to send over 400 troops as well as Special Operations personnel to train these death squad fighters.

UN Presses for ''Truce'' to Save Embattled Terrorists in Aleppo

Tony Cartalucci

Syria is winning the war and has absolutely no reason to show mercy for opponents that have no intention to show any for it and its people.

Curious is the United Nation and NATO's sudden interest in peace. Both organizations are suing for truces on two separate battlefields, one in Ukraine in Eastern Europe, and another in Syria's northern city of Aleppo amid a regional conflagration in the Middle East. It is curious because talks of "truces" were completely absent just as recently as 2011, when both organizations, the UN and NATO, backed hordes of terrorists sweeping across Libya, committing abhorrent atrocities including the systematic, genocidal extermination of Libya's black communities.

Image: No "ceasefire" or "truce" was proposed by the UN or NATO, because the terrorists they were backing were winning. Such calls are meant not to alleviate human suffering, but to preserve, buy time for, and rebuild forces committed to expanding such suffering.

There was also the encirclement, intentional starvation, and denial of humanitarian aid, along with the bombardment of Libyan cities like Sirte, which also saw no protests or calls for "ceasefires" by the UN or NATO. In fact, as terrorists enforced blockades on the ground to starve residents to death, NATO bombed the encircled cities relentlessly from the air for weeks. The eventual fall of Sirte, for example, would leave behind an utterly devastate city and a decimated, scattered population. Other cities, like Tawarga, had their entire populations, down to the last resident, either killed or forced to flee.

NATO/UN Desperately Seek Ceasefire To Save ISIS After Syrian Army Encircles Aleppo

Brandon Turbeville

In a military victory that may very well rival the liberation of Qusayr in terms of significance, on February 17, the SAAofficially encircled the entirety of Syria’s largest city Aleppo. In so doing, the SAA was also able to seal off the road leading into the city from the North which has been used as a supply route for the terrorist death squads receiving reinforcements and supplies from Turkey since the beginning of the crisis.

While not controlled by the Western-backed terrorist forces entirely, large portions of Aleppo have fallen under death squad control since NATO began backing jihadists forces in earnest in 2010. The Syrian military has long sought to establish control over the entirety of the city and, over the last several months, the SAA has been fighting to do just that. Over the last few weeks, however, the SAA was able to win a number of key battles and take control over a several key villages that enabled it to position itself all the way around Aleppo.

US Officials Blow the Whistle on Secret CIA, Mossad Operation in Syria

Aaron Nelson

Detonating a car bomb in a civilian-populated area and denying any involvement in the attack is called terrorism when our enemies do it.

But what if the terror attack is backed by Israel and the United States?

Speaking only under the condition of anonymity, 5 former U.S. intelligence officials told The Washington Post that the Central Intelligence Agency tracked Imad Mughniyah for at least a year before killing him in a joint operation with the Israeli Secret Intelligence Service.

US Aggression Drags World into Age of Global Anarchy

Allied with barbaric regional regimes who gestated "Islamic State," Washington's attack on Syria sets dangerous new precedent.

Tony Cartalucci

Without a UN mandate or even a cohesive narrative, the United States and its regional allies have begun unilaterally bombing targets in Syria. Together with Turkey, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar - the very sponsors of extremists groups fighting inside of Syria, including the Islamic State, its offshoot al Nusra, and other Al Qaeda aligned factions - the US has opened a new chapter on global anarchy.

Image: After years of condemning the Syrian government's war against extremists at the cost of the civilian population, the US began launching air and missile strikes against "extremists" at the cost of Syria's civilian population. Mind-bending hypocrisy and the utter circumvention of the very "international law" the US claims to be chief arbiter over marks a dangerous leap toward global anarchy.

Unlike other campaigns of naked military conquest, the US appears to have foregone the facade of UN approval, moral or legal justification, and has instead applied a scatter-shot strategy of proposing multiple pretexts for its aggression - all equally implausible, many contradictory - hoping at least one will stick.

US Strike on Syria is Desperation Incarnate

Tony Cartalucci

The West was racing against the clock – attempting to justify war with Syria by allegedly “fighting” the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS) in Syria before the world fully realized the West and its allies had in fact created ISIS in the first place and was to this day arming, funding, and directing them.

In haste that can only be described as desperation bordering criminal insanity, the West announced that it has begun air and missile attacks on Syrian territory.

It alleges that it is attacking ISIS, however – and unlike its campaign in neighboring Iraq – the US in particular refuses to provide any details as to what it is actually doing in Syria.

United States Launches Airstrikes in Syria - Real Target Is Assad

Brandon Turbeville

Late Monday evening, September 22, the United States began the first of its airstrikes inside Syria.

Although details are still murky about where the attacks took place and what targets were actually hit, the Pentagon has acknowledged responsibility for the bombings.

According to USA Today, Rear Admiral John Kirby stated that "I can confirm that U.S. military and partner nation forces are undertaking military action against ISIL terrorists in Syria using a mix of fighter, bomber and Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles. Given that these operations are ongoing, we are not in a position to provide additional details at this time."

USA Today reports that the strikes were carried out both by bomber jets and by ships firing cruise missiles. It is said that the strikes have hit about 20 ISIS targets, including what is being called “headquarters buildings” for “militants who have based their movement in Syria.”

The attacks were not carried out with the coordination and cooperation of the Syrian government. Nor were they carried out with Syrian government permission.

Sanction-Drunk West Forgets to Target ISIS Sponsors

Ulson Gunnar

As the US and Europe prepare another round of sanctions against Russia over the ongoing Ukrainian conflict, the third round of such sanctions since the conflict began shortly after the Euromaidan unrest resulted in the installation of a NATO-backed regime in Kiev, a curious and inexplicable oversight appears to have been made.

While wild accusations have been leveled against Russia over its involvement over the violence in Ukraine, claims ranging from covert support up to and including unsubstantiated claims of a “full scale invasion,” prominent media organizations across the Western world have for years reported a flow of cash, weapons, equipment and fighters from America’s allies in the Persian Gulf as well as from nations like NATO member Turkey, and into the conflict raging within Syria’s borders.

While baseless claims leveled against Russia have served as ample justification for the West to continue leveling sanctions against Moscow, no sanctions have as of yet been leveled against the overt sponsors of militancy and, in fact, terrorism in Syria. So widespread has state-sponsored terrorism become in the Middle East that what began as a limited proxy war against Syria has transformed into an immense regional army with tens of thousands of paid soldiers requiring millions of dollars a day to operate across multiple borders and confounding the forces of Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon combined.

Congress Votes To Fight ISIS By Funding ISIS To Fight Assad

Brandon Turbeville

On September 17, 2014, the United States House of Representatives voted to approve the White House plan to arm and train the alleged “moderate” Syrian rebels. The vote was 273-156 in favor of the $500 million plan. Of course, the bill in question was actually an amendment that was cynically attached to a bill designed to continue funding for the federal government in the short-term, ensuring maximum support from members of the House.

Then, on Thursday September 19, the U.S. Senate followed suit by approving the plan as well. The support for the plan in the Senate was, as expected, bipartisan with members such as Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, John McCain, John Boehner, and Lindsey Graham voting “Yes” on the bill.

The Obama administration reiterated that it was neither asking for permission nor for a new authorization to use military force. The White House asserts that it has all the authority it needs to achieve its goals under the authorizations to use military force that were approved after the 9/11 attacks and in the run-up to the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Essentially, as Obama stated in his address to the American people on September 10, the consultation of Congress was a mere formality. The plan to aid the “moderate rebels” fighting against Assad and engage in airstrikes against the secular government was going ahead regardless of the decision by Congress.

Sen. Rand Paul Argues Against U.S. Arming Syrian Rebels on Senate Floor

Sen Rand Paul

Paul says "Here's the great irony of this...we could use the 2001 Authorization of Force that they predicate this vote on...to attack the same people we're giving the weapons to. Think about the insanity of this!"
