Has anyone else noticed that most professors of ethics aren’t exactly…ummm…ethical? At least the ones who get quoted, anyway.

A professor at the highly esteemed Princeton University doesn’t want his Obamacare premiums to increase because of caring for severely disabled babies. Dr. Pete Singer, who teaches ethics (but perhaps needs a little refresher on what the word “ethics” means) argued during a radio interview on Sunday that America should be more accepting of “intentionally ending the lives of severely disabled infants.”

Now that April 15th is on the horizon, many taxpayers are bracing themselves for the inevitable penalty that will hit them if they don’t sign up for Obamacare. It’s estimated that at least 3 million households may have to pony up 1% of their income, or $95 per adult, if they don’t have insurance; a number which is poised to expand to 2.5% for the 2016 tax year.

However, for all its bluster and intimidating language, the Affordable Care Act might not have any teeth. Recently, a tax expert writing for Forbes noticed that Obamacare, while far-reaching and burdensome in terms of what it demands from the American people, offers little to no repercussions for anyone who would be tempted to avoid it.

Sometimes one can’t help but wonder if this whole Obamacare fiasco is ever going to end. It’s like a recurring bad dream…an infinite nightmare that keeps returning, with new plot twists and horrible surprises every evening.

The latest blunder (to put it mildly) involves tax forms.

By any reasonable measure, I think it is safe to say that the last quarter of 2013 has been an insane game of economic Russian Roulette. Even more unsettling is the fact that most of the American population still has little to no clue that the U.S. was on the verge of a catastrophic catalyst event at least three times in the past three months alone, and that we face an even greater acceleration next year. 

The first near miss was the Federal Reserve's announcement of a possible “taper” of QE stimulus in early fall, which sent shivers through stock markets and proved what we have been saying all along – that the entire recovery is a facade built on an ever thinning balloon of fiat money. Today, markets function entirely on the expectation that the Fed will continue stimulus forever. If the Fed does cut QE in any way, the frail psychology of the markets will shatter, and the country will come crashing down with it.

The second near miss was the possible unilateral invasion of Syria demanded by the Obama Administration.

As we have discussed at Alt-Market for years, any invasion of Syria or Iran will bring detrimental consequences to the U.S. economy and energy markets, not to mention draw heavy opposition from Russia and China. Though the naïve shrug it off as a minor foreign policy bungle, Syria could have easily become WWIII, and I believe the only reason the establishment has not yet followed through with a strike in the region is because the alternative media has been so effective in warning the masses. The elites need a certain percentage of support from the general public and the military for any war action to be effective, which they did not receive. After all, no one wants to fight and die in support of CIA-funded Al Qaeda terrorist cells on the other side of the world. The establishment tried to hide who the rebels were, and failed.

Up front and candidly admitting, this writer did not pen “Obama Flowers.” Whoever wrote it needs to be congratulated for his or her analytical skills and fabulous sense of humor. It’s going around the Internet and probably is on many email users’ fast forward lists, since over 54 percent [1] of Americans now don’t like nor want what’s become known as ObamaCare. 

For those who don’t understand what bugs people about ObamaCare, maybe substituting flowers, which everyone likes, can get the point across. What flowers would you order? Personally, I’d prefer a baby orchid plant and not cut flowers, which will die off within a week or so. I’d like to have live flowers around longer. What happened to choice?

Obamacare Will be the Reason That You Will Never Retire

The elephant in the room is healthcare. The American middle class is in extreme danger because of Obamacare. Obamacare will be the reason that many will never be able to retire or even to live to a ripe old age.

Will Obamacare Be Repealed?

Millions hold out hope that Obamacare will just go away. Could that happen?

The big challenge to Obamacare was the constitutional issue of making participation mandatory. The Supreme Court voted 5-4 in favor of the mandate to force people to pay a penalty for non-payment. As an aside, since when does an entity have to force someone to participate in a program if it is that good?

The other source that promised hope that Obamacare could be stopped is in Congress.  The House of Representatives has voted over 30 times to get rid of Obamacare, but it is just a symbolic gesture because they know that it will never pass the Democrat-controlled Senate. And if by some miracle the repeal of Obamacare did pass the Senate, Obama would veto the bill and a two-thirds override would never happen. Obamacare is here to stay.

While many news outlets are discussing the exposure of the National Security Agency’s surveillance programs, far fewer are discussing the “Federal Data Services Hub,” a database created by the Affordable Care Act.

The hub will allow access to one of the largest centralized collections of personal data in American history, perhaps even dwarfing the Next Generation Identification program and its predecessor, Secure Communities.

Stephen Parente, finance professor t the University of Minnesota, and Paul Howard, director of the Manhattan Institute’s Center for Medical Progress, wrote that the data hub “could be the largest consolidation of personal data in the history of the republic.”

“If you think identity theft is a problem now, wait until Uncle Sam serves up critical information on 300 million American citizens on a platter,” they wrote.

However, the government claims that it isn’t actually a database in the traditional sense.

Executive Order Accelerates Mandatory HIV Testing For All Citizens

President Barack Obama posted an executive order yesterday which appears to mandate HIV testing for "all individuals ages 15 to 65 years."

The HIV Care Continuum Initiative claims responsibility for recent successes in the study of HIV but says "further Federal action is appropriate in response to these new developments."

That federal action appears to be in the form of mandated HIV testing, and Obama seems to suggest that HIV testing will be free under the Affordable Care Act.

The Administration says mandatory testing is warranted because early detection is helpful to fighting HIV and, according to the executive order, twenty percent of people with HIV remain undiagnosed.

If you need a sure way to identify that a proposed law or regulation is bad news, perhaps the fact that it has to be presented by movie stars and professional athletes to make it palatable could be a clue.

The White House is apparently getting celebrity endorsements to help sway the public opinion on Obamacare.

After all, if that NFL superstar thinks it’s a good idea, all the wannabe jocks will think it’s a good idea. If that beautiful, compassionate starlet thinks that Obamacare is indicative of the Second Coming, then it must be true. And then there is that comedian, you know, the liberal one that wears the funny glasses – you can tell he’s brilliant by just listening to him use big words to make fun of liberty-minded folks – he thinks Obamacare is great too!

A Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Tom Price of the 6th Congressional district from the State of Georgia, introduced H.R. 2009,[1] known as “Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act of 2013.” 

May 16, 2013, H.R. 2009 was referred to the House Ways and Means Committee, where it may languish, even though it’s been introduced in the first session of the 113th Congress. Nevertheless, it could wind up sine die for lack of action. Why? Well, basically it’s a partisan bill having 98 Republican co-sponsors. Is that the kiss of death? Who knows? Just a few weeks ago the honorable Congresswoman from San Francisco, Nancy Pelosi, made the stunning claim that health insurance in America would be cheaper than ever before. “Many of the initiatives that he passed are what are coming to bear now, including the Affordable Care Act,” she said at a recent press conference about legislation championed by the President. “The Affordable Care Act is bringing the cost of health care in our country down in both the public and private sector.”

Of course, days later we found out what the future of ”affordable” health care and lower costs actually meant, when the IRS admitted that prices would top $20,000 per year for the average American family.

It seems that these are the ramifications for passing a sweeping overhaul of the U.S. health care industry without having first read the bill to find out what was in it.

Such legislation that refuses to enact meaningful and significant spending cuts exemplifies the depth of the efforts to dismantle the economic well being of the average taxpayer.

The only beneficiary out of the tax bill from hell will be the corporate/state axis. By setting aside the automatic sequestration program reductions for a typical irresponsible useless promise the McConnell, Biden reach tentative deal on sequester, con insults the intelligence of any rational taxpayer.

Obamneycare Converts Health Care Into Profits

In the guest section there is a new contribution by Dr. Robert S. Dotson. He points out that Obamneycare is two versions of the same thing. A person has to be gullible and uninformed to believe the claims of Obama and Romney that their replacements for Medicare will save money and improve care. What the schemes do is convert public monies into private profits.

The exploding costs described by Dr. Dotson and the rising profits for private corporations are paid for by reducing health care. These procedures transformed aging by allowing the elderly, who formerly languished in wheelchairs and nursing homes, to lead active lives.
