Arkansas getting $3.5M for law enforcement

Arkansas will receive more than $3.5 million to support drug task forces and provide equipment, training and other aid to local law enforcement agencies.

Members of Arkansas' congressional delegation announced Thursday that the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration will receive the U.S. Department of Justice grant.
The delegation says multi-jurisdictional drug task forces allow law enforcement agencies to coordinate with officers in neighboring counties to enforce drug laws. The task forces are generally organized by judicial district, and funds are primarily used to support local law enforcement officers who work to enforce drug laws.
