The Military Occupation Of Ferguson, Missouri Is Just A Preview Of What Is Coming To America

Michael Snyder

Let’s be honest – Ferguson, Missouri is under military occupation right now, and the entire world is watching in horror as militarized police fire tear gas and rubber bullets at unarmed protesters.  Yes, the rioting and looting in Ferguson needed to be stopped.  If order had not been restored, more stores and businesses would have been destroyed.  However, there is no excuse for the brutal tactics now being employed.

At one point, police snipers were even using laser scopes to target protesters that were obviously unarmed. Sadly, this is just a preview of what is coming to America in the years ahead. As the economy falls apart and people become even more angry and even more frustrated, there will be a lot more incidents of civil unrest like we have just witnessed in Ferguson. And in response, the federal government and our overly militarized police will seek to crush those uprisings with overwhelming force.

How is it possible that our once very peaceful nation has fallen apart so dramatically?

The hacker group Anonymous claims it has the name of the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer involved in the fatal shooting of an unarmed black teenager over the weekend.
But in a rare display of caution, the group said Wednesday it is waiting to release the officer's name until it can be confirmed.
"We have the name of the shooter," the group tweeted. "We just can't verify. We need to either talk to witnesses or get a second leak source."
One member of Anonymous told HuffPost the hacker group wanted "to be absolutely positive it is correct."
"There have been instances in the past where anons have released erroneous dox," the Anonymous member “katanon" said in an interview via online chat room, referring to the hacker slang of exposing a person's true identity online.

The Police Murder in St. Louis and the Militarization of American Society

Yet another unarmed young man has been shot to death, execution style, by police on the streets of an American city. In response to demonstrations of popular outrage, riot police have attacked protests with tear gas and rubber bullets and arrested scores of people. A pregnant woman says she was thrown on the ground, maced and held at gunpoint.
The victim this time is 18-year-old Michael Brown, riddled Saturday with a dozen bullets from the gun of a cop in the St. Louis, Missouri suburb of Ferguson.
The anger that has engulfed metropolitan St. Louis is entirely justified. The police put out brazen lies, the standard fare in the string of incidents of homicidal violence against working people and youth. The Ferguson police have chosen to go with the claim, used so often in past killings by police, that Brown “reached for the gun” of the killer cop.
But numerous eyewitnesses describe a wanton and brutal murder. As Brown and a friend walked down the street, they were ordered by a still unnamed police officer to get on the sidewalk.
When the youth failed to respond quickly enough, the cop backed his vehicle into them, grabbed Brown by the neck and shot him. His friend told the media the cop shot again, hitting Brown in the back as he fled for his life. He then shot the youth several times in head and chest as he raised his hands and attempted to kneel to the ground.

Police Militarization: The New Search and Seizure

Ted Bauman

As World War I drew to a close in November 1918, over 2.5 million soldiers of the Imperial German Army remained in the field. They brought training, experience and battle-hardened attitudes with them as they streamed back across Germany’s borders.

These soldaten soon found ways to deploy their skills at home. Supported by Minister of Defense Gustav Noske, right-wingers — including one Corporal Adolf Hitler — organized ex-soldiers into Freikorps, and armed them with surplus military weaponry. These militia brutally crushed Germany’s nascent post-war democratic movement. For the next 20 years, they provided the core of the feared Brownshirts, street thugs who helped Hitler and the Nazis into power.

Fast forward 100 years. Another faltering empire in domestic political crisis, the United States, brings its own frustrated warriors and their weapons back home …

Historic Battle of Athens Sheriff’s Department Gets Military Makeover

As reported by Barry Donegan / BENSWANN.COM:
Fast forwarding to the present day, Nashville’s News Channel 5 is reporting that police militarization has erupted into a full-blown scandal in Tennessee. Under the Department of Defense’s surplus weapons program, Tennessee police departments have received an unusually huge order of military weapons including grenade launchers, M-16s, and Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles. As an example, the rural McMinn County Sheriff’s Department, once coincidentally the focus of the historic Battle of Athens, was mistakenly given over five military weapons per person, despite only having 31 officers. Said McMinn County Sheriff Guy of the shipment, “Well, we don’t need this many. There was a little error in the order… They’re here as our department grows. We’ll have additional firearms for future officers.” It’s worth noting that DOD rules require police departments to return unnecessary surplus weapons. Due to this mistake, it is likely that the McMinn County Sheriff’s Department is now one of the most militarized sheriff’s departments in the United States.

Has the Dept. of Homeland Security Become America's Standing Army?

The Rutherford Institute

If the United States is a police state, then the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is its national police force, with all the brutality, ineptitude and corruption such a role implies. In fact, although the DHS' governmental bureaucracy may at times appear to be inept and bungling, it is ruthlessly efficient when it comes to building what the Founders feared most—a standing army on American soil.

Cops Kill 8 Times More Americans Than Terrorists Do

Many people have noticed that several of the local police officers, particularly the younger ones are more gruff, rude and even abusive as compared to the past. Many veteran officers attribute the shift towards DHS’ training of local police which focuses on teaching the police that the public is their enemy as opposed to the traditional view that teaches that the local population and the police are partners in keeping the community safe.

Whatever happened to the friendly neighborhood cop who walked a beat, was well-known and respected by the local residents and was seen as the protector of the neighborhood? Far too often, that cop has been replaced by thugs wearing camouflage, bank robber type black ski masks who are armed with automatic weapons and sometimes even break down the doors of people who are innocent.

Why Have Police In America Turned Into Such Ruthless Thugs?

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...
Michael Snyder

Once upon a time, the police were one of the most respected institutions in America, but now most Americans fear them.  Almost every single day there are multiple stories of police brutality or misconduct that make the national news.

Just this week, there have been stories about police killing a baby deer at an animal shelter, about police killing a 95-year-old World War II veteran in a retirement home, and about police using legal technicalities to “legally” stealmassive amounts of money from innocent citizens.

Why are police acting like this?  Why have police in America turned into such ruthless thugs?  In the case of the baby deer that was killed, 13 armed agents stormed the animal shelter up in Wisconsin where it was being cared for.  Is this really the kind of country that we want our children to grow up in?  A country where Bambi is hunted down by armed thugs working for the government?

Seattle police are investigating an assault rifle that was left on the trunk of a patrol car – found only after two people flagged down separate officers to alert them.

The incident happened Monday night, and the patrol car with the gun on the back was photographed in the 1500 block of Seventh Avenue, near The Cheesecake Factory and The Roosevelt hotel.

Police started the investigation after the person who took the photo sent the image to The Stranger. It was posted on Slog, the alternative newspaper's blog, at 5:21 a.m. Monday with a short description of the incident.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States plans to export $46.1 billion in weapons this year, nearly doubling its 2010 figures, officials said.

During the fiscal year 2011, which ends September 30, Washington expects the sales of equipment and military services through its Foreign Military Sales process to grow. About 79 percent of these exports are financed by client countries and organizations, with the remainder funded by US aid programs.

US military equipment sales, confined to about $10 billion in the early 2000s, tripled to around $30 billion after 2005.

BodyGuard stun-device to help mere mortal crime fighters

Crime fighters may soon be adding another tool to their arsenal - one that is literally designed to strike fear into the hearts of evildoers. With an integrated taser, video camera and protective forearm armor, the BodyGuard is a stun device that wouldn't be out of place on the forearm of a certain caped crusader in Gotham City. BodyGuard has already been used in Mock Prison Riots in West Virginia and is headed to real world city streets with testing and evaluation of the device due to commence in Los Angeles later this year.

Prompted by a number of cougar attacks on one of his favorite hiking trails in Orange County, Dave Brown set about developing a device to protect himself from animal attacks that could be worn while riding a bike. He hit upon the idea of a hands-free stun device and quickly recognized the potential for such a non-lethal device in the area of law enforcement.

The result is the BodyGuard, which houses its various components under a high-impact plastic shell attached to a forearm sleeve and glove. The current BodyGuard 9X1-HD01 prototype features two taser spikes mounted near the wrist that are designed primarily to act as a deterrent by sparking loudly and sending an arc of electricity between them to intimidate suspects. The spikes are activated by pulling a safety pin and pressing a button embedded into the palm of the BodyGuard glove.

$170 million mock city rises at Marine base

Hotels, markets, tunnels — and actors — are part of urban warfare training

Julie Watson -- AP/MSNBC

A mock city roughly the size of downtown San Diego has risen in a remote Southern California desert to train military forces to fight in urban environments.

The $170 million urban training center was unveiled Tuesday at the Twentynine Palms military base, 170 miles northeast of San Diego.

The 1,560-building facility will allow troops to practice and refine skills that can be used around the world, the Marine Corps said.

The military has been opening a slew of mock Afghan villages at bases across the country to prepare troops for battle before they are deployed.

The new training center is one of the largest and most elaborate.

Seven separate mock city districts spread across 274 acres of desert.

The fake markets, hotels and other businesses are complete with actors who create scenarios that pose a full range of challenges from humanitarian relief efforts to peacekeeping to police work and direct combat, according to the Marine Corps.

Police trained that FEMA camps are perfectly normal

Milo Nickels
Activist Post

Picture it:  You are sound asleep next to your spouse.  Your children are safely tucked away in their bedrooms.  Despite the chaos in the world which surrounds you--the riots, the food shortages, the deadly pandemic, the nationwide power outage, and the apparent societal collapse--you are safe and comfortable in your house.  Although the world has seemingly gone crazy, you are doing all you can to weather the storm and (for the moment) everything is quiet and peaceful.  Suddenly, there is a loud crash!  You jerk awake from your slumber.  Within seconds, before you can even get to your feet, you are blinded by streams of intense light.  You can hear your spouse screaming, and your children crying in the distance, but all that noise is drowned out by the loud, harshvoices behind those blinding lights.  "Get down!"  "Don't move!"  If you hesitate for even a second, they will violently throw you to the ground.  You are dragged from your own house along with the rest of your family.  As several officers remain behind to search your house, you are thrown onto a fortified bus without any explanation, and whisked away to a "secure facility".  This is your new home--uniforms, prisoner numbers, forced vaccinations, ID markings, armed guards, barking guard dogs, and a fence with barbed wire pointing in.

Yes, I'm talking about FEMA camps.  I'm not sure if I actually believe that they exist or not, but I have absolutely no doubt that our government is capable of such a thing.  These are, after all, the same people who want to see all travelers naked--and grope their genitals.  Honestly, how much of a stretch would camps really be?  With all of the rules, laws, taxes, license plate readers, face scanners, traffic cameras, security cameras, metal detectors, speed cameras, and (recently) unmanned spy drones we are pretty much in a giant camp already--they just haven't built the fence yet.

This article is not about the "reality" of FEMA camps.  Plenty of other people have written articles and made movies which offer "proof" that FEMA camps exist.  If you want information concerning the Japanese internment camps of WWII, legislation that opens the door to prisoner camps, or even maps of supposed FEMA camp locations, may I offer the following resources for you:

Camp FEMA - American Lockdown (full movie - video - 86 minutes)
Jesse Ventura - Conspiracy Theory (Season 2, Episode 4 - video - 44 minutes)

I've watched all the movies and visited all the websites.  The information is sometimes compelling, sometimes absurd.  There is a plethora of facts and an abundance of wild speculations.  Although, I'm not sure what I believe, I have acquired an interesting piece of information that I want to share with all of you.  One of my biggest questions concerning FEMA camps has always been this: how on earth would they convince military and police to go along with the roundup?

It's actually not as difficult as you might suspect.  Think of all the unconstitutional, victimless-crime laws that the police willingly and aggressively enforce every single day.  Take the "seatbelt law" for example.  Although this law is clearly a violation of the constitution and a glaring display of government overstepping its bounds, it was justified to the police as being "necessary because it saves lives".  The government offers a rationalization, the law gets passed, police supervisors give out the orders, and police do as they are told.

It all starts with the justification/rationalization.

It would stand to reason that, if placing people in camps could be justified/rationalized to the police as a "necessary act to save lives", the police would likely go along with it.  But are the police actually being indoctrinated that camps may be necessary to save lives?  Sadly, the answer is yes.  I recently received the following email, and it blew me away:

Dear Milo, I love your site.  I noticed you haven't discussed FEMA camps yet, but here's some information that you might find interesting.

I'm a police officer in [withheld to protect officer's identity] State. Everyone in my department was recently required to take an online course sponsored by FEMA about the "Incident Command Structure" (ICS). The Incident Command Structure is the system of control set in place following a disaster, catastrophe, terrorist strike, or other such event.  All of the documents from that course can be found on FEMA's website:

http://training.fema.gov/EMIweb/IS/is100lst.asp

In particular you should pay attention to Unit 6: ICS Facilities. Here's that direct link:

http://training.fema.gov/EMIweb/IS/ICS100CR/ICS100IG/06ICS100ICSFac_NMSept05.pdf

First, I'd like you to notice page 6-8 which is actually entitled "CAMPS"!!! Now, they claim in this training that "camps" are temporary facilities and may not be required. I feel that they do this to condition the police that camps are perfectly normal and may be necessary--so that we won't hesitate to place people in camps upon command.
Secondly, I'd like you to notice page 6-4 which mysteriously states "some incidents may require facilities not included on the standard list". The use of the word "facilities" would lead me to believe that these locations are already in place and are permanent in nature. But then you have to ask: what kind of facilities are important enough to already have in place, but too secretive to leave out of your police training?

I found it very interesting and thought I'd share.
Keep up the good work,
[Name Withheld]

Interesting, indeed!  It's quite unsettling that FEMA is educating police officers around the nation that citizens may have to be placed into CAMPS at some point (for their own safety, of course), and that this practice is completely normal.

Now, I know that I bust on cops a lot on my site.  Truthfully though, I don't actually dislike most individual police officers, but the corrupt governmental institution they serve.  Most cops are just honest, hard-working people--working a very difficult job.  They don't want to violate people's rights, but they also don't want to get in trouble with their supervisors and risk losing their livelihoods.  I actually have several friends who are cops and, like the author of this letter, I can't picture any of them voluntarily placing American Citizens into camps.  I'm hoping that, by sharing this email with all of you, maybe some other police who have received this training will realize what's really going on, and how they are being conditioned.  Placing citizens in camps is not normal, it's not necessary, and it never will be.
