ITHACA Report to the UN on US Human Rights

ITHACA submitted a report in 2010 to the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) concerning the human rights record of the United States and focused on two issues. The first issue concerned the revocation of rights taking place in state superior courts under the mantle of adult guardianships, impacting the elderly and disabled.

The second issue we covered concerned attacks by the US government on human rights defenders.

This report for the 2015 UPR of the human rights record of the United States will focus on the progress of these two issues.

The UN has a new member: the NSA

The NSA joined the UN in 2012. But they didn’t go through the usual process. Instead, they hacked in and began bugging UN teleconferences at its New York headquarters.

Der Spiegel, based on another Snowden leak, reports, quoting an NSA document: “The data traffic gives us internal video conferencing of the United Nations (yay!)”

We’re not just talking about General Assembly meetings. NSA had to crack code to get in. Presumably, these were smaller, more private sessions.

Der Speigel also mentions that NSA has been spying on the EU delegation in New York, the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Commission), and 80 embassies and consulates around the world.

At this point, I’d normally write something like, “So who hasn’t the NSA been spying on? You, in your home?” But we already know the Agency is collecting information on all of us.

Haaretz in their report titled, "UN chief angered over Netanyahu's 'leak' of private talk on Iran, sources say," claims, "United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has been angered over what he considered to be Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's "leaking" of the contents of a phone conversation between the two regarding the UN chief's planned visit to Tehran."

During the alleged phone conversation, Netanyahu expressed "disappointment" that Ban Ki-moon would be attending the conference claiming he, "saw no reason to visit a country whose government is anti-Semitic and openly declares its intention to destroy Israel." It is claimed Netanyahu also mentioned Teheran's alleged statements about "annihilating the Zionist entity."

Syria reportedly captures foreign military officers, UN chief won’t condemn kidnapping of Iranians

As Syrian media is reporting the capture of military officers from foreign nations in Aleppo, the city which has a heavy presence of the Western-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) terrorist organization, the Secretary General of the United Nations is refusing to condemn the kidnapping of Iranian pilgrims in Syria.

This just highlights how laughable the United Nations is as an organization. When it suits them, they are suddenly champions of humanitarianism and human rights, just as the United States is.

Then, suddenly, when the position no longer benefits them, they quickly ignore the murder of innocent civilians at the hands of Syrian rebels. Indeed, unconfirmed reports have stated that three of the 48 Iranian pilgrims kidnapped by rebels have been killed, something which the UN doesn’t seem to care about all that much.

Day of Infamy at General Assembly On Syria Resolution

On August 3, The General Assembly ignored rule of law principles. Member states are sworn to uphold them. 

It passed a non-binding Syrian resolution 133 - 12. Thirty-one nations abstained. Cowardice defines their failure to do the right thing.

Saudi Arabia drafted the measure. It partnered with Qatar and perhaps Bahrain doing so. They're regional axis of evil co-conspirators. Compared to them, Assad is saintly.

Russia called the measure "biased and unbalanced." It was that and much more. It ignored reality on the ground. It ran cover for Washington's proxy war. 

It endorsed daily slaughter and destruction. It ignored Western/Arab League/Israeli responsibility for ravaging another nonbelligerent country. It spurned millions of Syrians.

In UN history, August 3, 2012 will live in infamy.

Friday's UN vote will no doubt be declared by the Western media as a resounding condemnation of Syria and a "universal" call for a "political transition" to install the US State Department's stable of hand-picked and groomed administrative proxies. However, aside from CNN, BBC, and Qatari Al Jazeera's ever-shrinking audiences, few on the planet will be convinced of these headlines.

Final UN Arms Trade Treaty Disarms America With Clinton’s Signature

The UN International Arms Trade Treaty Conference (ATT) is wrapping up in New York, and their final draft is completed.

In 2009, Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State, proudly announced that the Obama administration was in full support of the ATT. It was the intention of the US government to assist the UN in implementing and establishing “common international standards for the import, export, and transfer of conventional arms to help prevent the acquisition of arms by terrorists, criminals, and those who violate human rights or are subject to UN arms embargoes.”

Clinton stated that, "the United States is prepared to work hard for a strong international standard” concerning global gun control. “The United States is committed to actively pursuing a strong and robust treaty that contains the highest possible, legally binding standards for the international transfer of conventional weapons.”

In 2010, the US began talks with the UN regarding the initial drafting of the ATT.

Choosing “the creation of a global society with global democracy” will “improve the function of global financial markets” and “environmental quality.”

George Soros suggests in The Crisis of Global Capitalism that a “worldwide alliance will operate in promoting principles of international law.” However, there is little concern in the globalist Elite’s view of local markets.

Global Elite Using Obesity Vaccines to Alter Minds and Curb Consumption

The attack on the overweight has kicked into high gear, as the pharmaceutical corporations seek out an immunization to answer the American weight problem.

Last month the UN’s World Health Organization (WHO)announced that because of over-population and over-consumptive cultures, Americans have become overweight . . . and that is a problem.

Working with WHO, researchers at the BMC Public Health have published a study regarding the increasing levels of “fatness” worldwide and the impact such weight gain has on global resources. They contend that overweight people can be compared to an extra billion humans born on the planet.

The target of these researchers is North America, specifically the American population. Although Americans only account for 6% of the global population, more than a third of them are considered obese. They contend a new social meme concerning consumption, weight and population growth called “globesity” must be introduced to combat this new problem.

UN Bureaucracy Just a Formality Before US Military Attack On Syria

The Syrian National Council (SNC) has rejected the international plan for regime change in Syria because current Syrian President Bashar Assad would have the right to participate in the agreement.

At a conference in Geneva this past weekend, the UN brokered “deal” for the “creation of a transitional national unity government” made the illusion to executive powers given to Syria. Russian representatives asserted that Assad should be part of the interim administration.

The ultimate transitional government would also oversee the drafting of a new Syrian Constitution and advise the electoral process.

The international community, headed by the UN has agreed to devise a scheme to remove Assad from the Syrian government and chose his successor by “mutual consent”. Several opposition groups in Syria are vying for representatives that might replace Assad.

U.N. finalizing Arms Trade Treaty, U.S. claims Second Amendment will be protected

Currently, the Obama administration is joining countries from around the world at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN) for negotiations, being held from July 2-27, 2012, attempting to finalize the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), part of which is the somewhat infamous “small arms treaty.”

As Brent Daggett rightly wrote in his fantastic summary of the ATT, the treaty was originally proposed all the way back in 2003. However, it was not actually addressed in the UN until December of 2006 when the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution entitled, “Towards an Arms Trade Treaty: establishing common international standards for the import, export and transfer of conventional arms.”

Since that time, support for the treaty – along with what I believe are misguidedly optimistic interpretations of its implications – has grown considerably.

UN Conference to Strip 2nd Amendment During Month Long Attack in NY

The 54mm slither bullets, manufactured in Iran (who is under an international arms embargo) were found back in 2010 in west and central Africa. They are anonymously sold on the black market by soldiers looking for quick cash, while others were smuggled in illegally in shipping containers.

These bullets are found to be in the possession of rebel and government forces along the African Ivory Coast.

All major commodities are controlled by the UN. Now they are coming for the right of citizens to have personal armory.

By decrying the need for laws that regulate arms brokers, delegates are gathering this month at the UN in New York to discuss the UN International Arms Control Treaty (IACT). They have decided they will meet to create an “elaborate a legally binding instrument on the highest possible common international standards for the transfer of conventional arms.”

UN document would give 'Mother Earth' same rights as humans

UNITED NATIONS — Bolivia will this month table a draft United Nations treaty giving "Mother Earth" the same rights as humans — having just passed a domestic law that does the same for bugs, trees and all other natural things in the South American country.

The bid aims to have the UN recognize the Earth as a living entity that humans have sought to "dominate and exploit" — to the point that the "well-being and existence of many beings" is now threatened.

The wording may yet evolve, but the general structure is meant to mirror Bolivia's Law of the Rights of Mother Earth, which Bolivian President Evo Morales enacted in January.

That document speaks of the country's natural resources as "blessings," and grants the Earth a series of specific rights that include rights to life, water and clean air; the right to repair livelihoods affected by human activities; and the right to be free from pollution.

It also establishes a Ministry of Mother Earth, and provides the planet with an ombudsman whose job is to hear nature's complaints as voiced by activist and other groups, including the state.

Target China: A deeper look at the globalist blitzkrieg's final destination

Far from the Founding Father's ideal representative republic, China has garnered a reputation as one of the most repressive regimes on earth. While some of this is well earned, much of it is due to the unsavory legacy left by Mao's "Great Leap Forward" which to this day is still being carefully and systematically dismantled. Another large factor at play is the entirely disingenuous and very much hypocritical campaign the Western corporate-financier oligarchy has waged against the 1.3 billion strong nation.

of little concern for the American consumer or the self- proclaimed
champions of human rights within the US government.

Epic Fail: Global Warming Solutions

California is the model for all other states in UN Agenda 21, the overarching blueprint for depopulation and total control. California passed sweeping laws, the AB 32 Global Warming Solutions Act and companion bill SB 375, that claim the need for "sustainability" to reduce greenhouse gases and carbon, otherwise known as phony global warming. California's AB 32 law makes California the first state to commit to the Kyoto Treaty, a United Nations program.

The corrupt chief of the UN International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), Rajendra Pachauri, saidthat electricity should be monitored and that hefty taxes should be used to keep people from flying, as he prefers trains for the masses. His comments leave no doubt that UN goals are designed for total control and lack of mobility, as mobility is a source and reflection of freedom.

Private property, the primary factor that increases economic and individual freedom, is under attack through new restrictive land use regulations. Specifically, these new restrictive land use laws (planning, zoning and building codes) target energy and transportation. If people are concentrated into cities, they are more easily controlled and become less self-reliant; the design for this known as 'Smart Growth'.

This article is a snapshot of some of the measures, many of which are already in place, and is not a full analysis of all the programs or the abysmal affect on business that will suffer under these draconian laws. It is important to remember that these changes are based in the discredited "science" of global warming.

Homes

• New urban developments: housing will be built near rail lines, with the stated intention of removing people from their cars.
• Mixed use buildings: stores and restaurants on the bottom level with Smart Growth cage living spaces above are the model for new developments.
• Green building permits: a whole new level of bureaucracy and fees are planned.
• Retrofitting: many residential and commercial buildings are targeted for 'green' retrofits.
• Zero Net Energy buildings: elimination of "fossil fuel" heating and A/C will be part of the new building code requirements.
• • Electricity and natural gas will be monitored with Smart Meters that have a remote "off" switch. Many California homes have already been outfitted with Smart Meters and bills have doubled in some cases. People have reported that the EMF radiation is making themsick. Smart Meters can be stopped by local governments before installation. A class action lawsuit against utility suppliers' Smart Meters could go a long way toward stopping this program.
  • Smart appliances: new appliances are designed to be remotely controlled by your cell phone AND your utility supplier who can cut your appliances "off". 
  • Global Warming Potential (GWP): mitigation fees for potential global warming gas emissions may be levied.  Absurdly, the report cites a fee for potentially carbon leaky refrigerators, which would apply whether your refrigerator leaks or not.  Mitigation fees for ridiculous "potential" made-up threats are limited only by bureaucrats' imagination.

  Transportation

  • High speed rail trains and light rail systems: these modes of transportation are expensive and inefficient. They are designed to reduce car use, while dramatically increasing centralized control. 
  • Mass transit public transportation: buses are part of the planning scheme.
  • Mixed use buildings are designed to keep people at home and to prevent vehicle use.
  • Mileage monitoring: the DMV will track mileage when vehicles are registered and those with higher mileage get to pay more taxes.
  • Interregional travel: the state will be broken into regions and "accounting approaches" will be applied for emission responsibility (this means more tolls and taxes).
  • Tolls and HOT Lanes: toll roads will increase and tolls for traveling in a congested area (the excuse given for this tax is that as a car idles in a congested area, there is more carbon emission). HOT (high occupancy toll) lanes and taxing single drivers for driving alone are part of the program.
  • Air conditioning: California emissions regulations intend to phase-out air conditioning.
  • Parking: planning regulations will limit parking; parking prices will increase and parking time shares are proposed.
  • Obesity: the State cites obesity as an excuse to 'encourage' (through regulations and taxes) bicycling and walking.
  California is so thoroughly corrupt that despite State's Air Resources Board fraud exaggerating diesel emissions by 340%. Meanwhile, the vehicle mandates are still going full speed ahead, without further study. 
  
  Funding
  
  • Federal Stimulus Funding: no figures are mentioned, but the federal government is very supportive of centralized power at almost any cost.
  • Carbon cap-and-trade tax: no specific figures were given as to how much the appointed bureaucrats expected to profit from charging for a non-existent problem.
  • Water public use charge: The plan says that it can generate $100 to $500 million dollars in fees, but does not specify whether this is a total or yearly figure.
  • Reforestation: public funds were cited as a way to finance the possible "need" for additional carbon sinks; no dollar amount was given.
  • Permits and licenses: there are 24 state agencies listed in the AB 32 Scoping Plan; all of them are likely to dream up new licensing and permit fees.
  • Mitigation fees: this has yet to be fully defined so it could apply to anything equally as silly as taxing a potential leaky refrigerator.
  • Private funding: corporations who will benefit from partnering with the government.
  
  
  

  Structure 

   

  It is estimated that administrative costs will be approximately $36 million a year.

  The lead agency in this endeavor is the MPO or Metropolitan Planning Organization, an agency of the federal government comprised of local government leaders and appointed transportation authorities. Federal transportation funds are channeled through this entity.
  
  According to Michael Shaw, MPOs are a regional government apparatus. They are unelected and are primary purveyors of globalist policy generally. They reflect an extra unconstitutional layer of government. At the core they reflect a soviet system of governance.
  
  Twenty four state agencies, filled by unelected bureaucrats, are involved and seek to entice local governments into carrying out globalist Agenda 21. Local governments have jurisdiction over certain zoning and building permits.
  
  Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) are a cornerstone in Agenda 21 implementation. Essentially, the government partners with private corporations, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) and various other entities that may receive benefits including tax breaks or subsidies through government regulations.
  
  The laws and scoping plans are written in a vague and ill-defined language designed to confuse the real goals. According to Michael Shaw, this is the future of legislation: laws are intentionally written in a confusing open ended way so that they can be interpreted into destructive globalist policy later.
  Carbon dioxide "pollution" nonsense will be taught in schools, from kindergarten through university level to insure that Agenda 21 is implemented for decades to come. 
  
  Governors
  
  Governors have the power to reject the globalist outright, but Agenda 21 and its lies are so monumental that it is difficult to some to grasp.  Further, mainstream media is totally closed to the idea of public discourse on this matter.  But cracks are beginning to appear in the Agenda 21 monolith. New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez fired the entire state environmental board on her second day in office when they tried to usurp her power.
  
  New Jersey Governor Chris Christie refused to complete the high speed rail system that would have connected New Jersey to New York; federal funds are provided if the state pays for at least half of the project.
  
  Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Ohio Governor John Kasich followed Christie's lead and refused federal funding to build high-speed rails.
  
  California Governor Jerry Brown is intent on imposing the cap-and-trade portion of AB 32.   However, he is also seeking to take local governments' funds for 'redevelopment' or Smart Growth programs that benefit developers (many of whom are corrupt) to add to the State's general fund to offset the deficit.  Jerry Brown is a globalist but he has been held back by budget realities incurred by Schwarzenegger.  In effect, Brown has accepted the new austerity financing reality of the new order, so he has been reduced to being reasonable in some instances.
  
  

  Update

   

  On February 4th, California Superior Court Judge Ernest Goldsmith tentatively ruled that the California Air Resources Board (CARB) violated the state's environmental law in 2008 and again last year. CARB failed to do a full environmental review; the cap-and-trade scheme and enforcement of emissions laws are temporarily on hold.
  
  

  Solutions

   

  Agenda 21 enters communities from many directions. According to Michael Shaw of Freedom Advocates.org the most vulnerable organization promoting Agenda 21 at the local level is the U.N. accredited NGO called ICLEI – the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives.
  
  "Over 600 American cities have contracted with ICLEI, a foreign NGO that exists around the world for the purpose of implementing Agenda 21. This is a direct violation of Article 1 Section 10 of the Constitution and thereby constitutes treason by the local officials responsible. Today the battle over ICLEI is rising as a growing number of communities with this information in the public's hands have or are in the process of kicking ICLEI out. This is the initial volley in recapturing America from Globalist control."
