Wall Street Admits That A Cyberattack Could Crash Our Banking System At Any Time

Wall Street banks are getting hit by cyberattacks every single minute of every single day. It is a massive onslaught that is not highly publicized because the bankers do not want to alarm the public.

But as you will see below, one big Wall Street bank is spending 250 million dollars a year just by themselves to combat this growing problem.

The truth is that our financial system is not nearly as stable as most Americans think that it is. We have become more dependent on technology than ever before, and that comes with a potentially huge downside. An electromagnetic pulse weapon or an incredibly massive cyberattack could conceivably take down part or all of our banking system at any time.

Unnamed Source Claims Unconfirmed Cyber Attacks are from Iran

The New York Times ran a story Friday from an unnamed source about an unconfirmed story with unnamed victims. Why would the paper of record run such a story? Propaganda of course.

Any chance the officialdom can demonize Iran while simultaneously inflating the fear of cyber attacks, they'll take it, even if it's completely fabricated.

American officials and corporate security experts examining a new wave ofpotentially destructive computer attacks striking American corporations, especially energy firms, say they have tracked the attacks back to Iran.

The targets have included several American oil, gas and electricity companies, which government officials have refused to identify. The goal is not espionage, they say, but sabotage. Government officials describe the attacks as probes looking for ways to seize control of critical processing systems.

Last month, mainstream media reported on the cyber-attacks to our banking institutions that disrupted business and caused havoc for customers. National Security officials stated that although the attacks have begun to subside, they are remaining vigilant.

A nameless, faceless group of alleged Iranian hackers is being blamed for the attacks to JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America (BoA), Wells Fargo, US Bancorp and Citigroup. Initially, the hacker group claimed they were upset by the 14 minute trailer produced by the US government and distributed by Israeli citizen and FBI informant, Sam Bacile. Now their story is changing and Iran is the culprit behind these attacks.

US intelligence fueled by the Joint Chiefs of Staff’s Intelligence Directorate (J-2) claims that Iran has been focusing on schemes to attack the US using a cyber army to target US financial institutions – although this information is derived from a “highly classified” document.

According to Pentagon analysis, “Iran’s cyber aggression should be viewed as a component, alongside efforts like support for terrorism, to the larger covert war Tehran is waging against the west.”

The cyber threat level of these banks has been raised to “high” by the industry.

Senator and self-proclaimed Zionist Joseph Lieberman declared that it was Iran who cyber-attacked Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase in 2011 and began with more frequency this year. Lieberman, as the chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee states that the financial attack was spurned from the state-sponsored anti-Muslim film circulating the Middle East thanks to CIA-operatives al-Qaeda.

Lieberman explains: “I don’t believe these were just hackers. I believe this was done by Iran and the Qods force, which has its own developing cyber-attack capacity. And I believe it was in response to the increasingly strong economic sanctions that the United States and our European allies have put on Iranian financial institutions.”

The US government is planting the propaganda seed that according to “highly classified” documents provided by the Join Chiefs of Staff’s Intelligence Directorate confirm that Iranian hackers are committing cyber-attacks against US financial institutions.

WASHINGTON — The International Monetary Fund, still struggling to find a new leader after the arrest of its managing director last month in New York, was hit recently by what computer experts describe as a large and sophisticated cyberattack whose dimensions are still unknown.

The fund, which manages financial crises around the world and is the repository of highly confidential information about the fiscal condition of many nations, told its staff and its board of directors about the attack on Wednesday. But it did not make a public announcement.

Several senior officials with knowledge of the attack said it was both sophisticated and serious. “This was a very major breach,” said one official, who said that it had occurred over the last several months, even before Dominique Strauss-Kahn, the French politician who ran the fund, was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a chamber maid in a New York hotel.

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A group of shadowy hackers responsible for a string of recent high-profile cyberattacks has claimed to have stolen email addresses and passwords from associates of an FBI-affiliated security program.

The hackers who call themselves "Lulz Security," or LulzSec, said they had attacked the website of the Atlanta chapter of InfraGard in retaliation for US efforts to classify hacking as an act of war.

Lulz Security published a list online of around 180 email addresses and passwords which the group said were obtained from the InfraGard website.

US, Britain urge cooperation on cyber threats

SINGAPORE (AFP) - The United States and Britain called Saturday for international cooperation against threats to cyber security following a fresh spate of attacks on government and corporate targets.

US Defense Secretary Robert Gates and British Defence Secretary Liam Fox underscored the urgency of the problem at an Asia-Pacific security forum in Singapore also attended by their Chinese counterpart Liang Guanglie.

China denies being the source of attacks on US security systems and the two western officials deliberately avoided singling out Beijing.

Liang is scheduled to address the Singapore conference on Sunday.

Gates said "we take the cyber threat very seriously and we see it from a variety of sources, not just one or another country."

Fox said London will host an international conference on the "war of the invisible enemy" later this year.

The establishment has been desperately trying to implement legal control over the Internet. They're attacking freedom of speech and the open Internet from all angles; through government tools, corporate methods, and even the courts. All three of these methods are converging in the WikiLeaks case, but that's not the only battle being waged in the so-called "all-out cyber war."

The government, through the DHS, has already shut down over 80 websites for copyright infringement without due process, in addition to floating the idea to tax information websites. Corporations like Google, Verizon, and others are making deals to tip the Internet in favor of major players. Finally, in the courts, ambulance-chasing copyright infringement lawyers are bullying blogs to pay settlements despite Fair Use rights -- while their ultimate goal is to set a golden precedent with which to attack all news aggregating websites.

Don't you see what's happening here as the media continues to hype this cyber war? Because of the fierce resistance to all proposed changes to the Internet, they need an Internet "Pearl Harbor" to usher in these draconian laws. As the hacktivist army of WikiLeaks defenders are now reportedly turning their focus on UK government websites, we can expect that after the first major Web interruption, governments will convene urgent meetings to demand better enforcement and more control over the Internet.

Therefore this cyber war would seem to be playing right into their hands -- as already, mainstream polling on the sheeple ranch called the United States shows that 70% believe Julian Assange and WikiLeaks is doing harm and should be prosecuted. It won't be difficult to convince the masses to shut down dissent if essential infrastructure is "attacked" in this all-out war. Especially if that infrastructure is the Web itself.

Indeed, even the aware among us would suffer greatly if the Internet was down for multiple days. It is our heroin, our entertainment, our news, our communication medium, our livelihood . . . in essence, our freedom. I think most of us would beg for at least limited access after less than a week of being blacked out. We'd be on our hands and knees saying, "We don't need all of it; just give us enough access to get our fix. Please, I'll even register for an Internet tracking ID number."

Incidentally, it would seem the elite know the power they have over this technical opiate of the masses simply by shutting it down when the offensive anarchy gets too chaotic. They will simply switch the Fortune 1000 over to Internet 2 and let us vermin swim in the virus-ridden battle-torn Internet 1. Don't worry, though, they'll let us buy controlled access to their network where they will openly track, trace, and database our every keystroke and mouse click.

However, this war is not about technology, it is about the freedom of information and ability to view it in privacy. Anyone who is fundamentally against WikiLeaks is the enemy of free speech, because WikiLeaks has become the poster child for the people's right to information. The stronger a critic expresses their disdain for WikiLeaks, the more tyrannical we can expect the response to be. In other words, the more dangerous they can make WikiLeaks out to be, calling them "high-tech terrorist" and the like, the further the compromise bar is pushed in the establishment's direction.

Because the establishment is already in control of the technical gears of the Internet, they can and will win a technical cyber war -- even if they have to go nuclear and pull the plug to do it. The hacktivists fighting for Internet free speech have truth and principle on their side, yet they may be falling into the King's trap quite effectively. Just as the establishment needs violent street protests to justify their armored police state, they also need offensive protests by these hacktivists to justify policing the Internet.

Victor Hugo famously said, "All the forces in the world are not so powerful as an idea whose time has come." The ideas of liberty, justice, peace, and the right to open-source knowledge has come of age; it is clear that the globalist machine is opposed to these ideals -- thus they're losing the information war. Therefore, they must attack the battlefield of the infowar under the pretext of protecting cyberspace from those pesky freedom-of-speech bandits.

This so-called cyber war will likely fester into a Pearl Harbor-type event. When it occurs, the mainstream media will incite fear in one hand and sell the solution out of the other. We must be aware of their tactics and keep fighting for Internet freedom with heavy doses of the truth.

Cyberwarfare: US Seeks To Shut Down Enemy Power Grids

While proponents of cybersecurity continually emphasize the necessity of passing legislation that will hand the Obama administration the power to shut down the Internet in the name ofdefending critical infrastructure, every indication suggests that cybersecurity is nothing less than an offensive agenda to enable the US government to launch its own attacks against other groups and countries.

This fact is underscored again with a newly released Air Force manual that describes one aspect of the cybersecurity objective as “shutting down electrical power to key power grids of enemy leadership.”

So if an extremist group shuts down the US power grid, it’s a terrorist attack. If another country does it, it’s an act of war. But when the Air Force does it to someone else, it’s merely part of cybersecurity.

“Noah Shachtman, a contributing editor to Wired magazine and a fellow at the Brookings Institute think tank, said even the limited mention of offensive operations in the manual surprised him,” reports the Washington Post.

“That’s usually not the kind of thing we talk about doing to others,” Shachtman said. “The offensive stuff is supersecret.”

We’re constantly being told that the threat of cyber warfare is so grave that the government needs to be empowered to close down parts of the world wide web on a whim with no congressional approval.

And yet every notable act of cyber warfare has been launched by the United States government or its allies.

Take the Stuxnet malware attack for example – which was specifically crafted to attack Iran’s Iran’s Bushehr nuclear reactor – we’re told that this is an ominous sign that deadly cyber warfare has begun and that cybersecurity legislation must be urgently passed to defend the US and its allies against such threats.

And yet every indication suggests that Israel itself launched the attack to derail Iran’s nuclear energy program.

After analyzing the coding behind Stuxnet in detail, Symantec’s Liam O’Murchu concluded that the most likely culprit behind the attack was Israel.

“As for suggestions that Israeli intelligence may have authored the virus, O’Murchu noted that researchers had uncovered the reference to an obscure date in the worm’s code, May 9, 1979, which, he noted, was the date on which a prominent Iranian Jew, Habib Elghanian, who was executed by the new Islamic government shortly after the revolution,” reports Threat Post.

In addition, the recent attacks on Tea Party websites that were simultaneously running fundraising campaigns for anti-incumbant candidates have all the hallmarks of a politically-driven hack launched by the White House or Democrat operatives.

So while the federal government and its sycophantic parrots in the media ceaselessly bang on about cybersecurity being necessary to defend against cyber-attacks, the United States and its allies are launching cyber-attacks and then invoking them as a justification to prove that the threat is real.

This would be akin to someone making a point about the dangers of rising gun crime by shooting everybody in the head and then saying, “see I told you so!”

Given the fact that the feds are already engaged in cyber attacks as a means of moving their Internet takeover plans forward, it seems only a matter of time before we see key infrastructure in the United States targeted for similar false flag attacks that will swiftly be exploited politically to ram through the entire cybersecurity agenda.

Democrats Behind Tea Party Cyber Attacks?

FreedomWorks hack was “politically motivated,” launched day after Obama instructed Pentagon to attack “cyberthreats” within U.S.

Speculation is rife that Democrat activists or even the Obama administration itself may have been responsible for an attack which brought down a prominent Tea Party website right as the organization targeted was running a major fund-raising drive and on the day after Obama directed the Pentagon to attack “cyberthreats” within the United States.

The FreedomWorks website was attacked at 6:55am yesterday morning as the organization’s server was penetrated and completely wiped out by a “sophisticated hacker” on the very day of the group’s donation drive to support Tea Party candidates running in the imminent mid-term elections.

The attack also coincided with an endorsement by radio host Glenn Beck and the subsequent down time cost the group an estimated $80,000 dollars in lost donations.

“We think the idea was to take our site down until after the election,” Kara Pally, web developer for FreedomWorks, told the Wall Street Journal. “This was politically motivated.”

“It’s like the tea party movement’s been hacked,” said the group’s spokesman, Adam Brandon. “To us, it’s no coincidence this happened the day our Beck money bomb was announced.”

In an identical attack, another Tea Party-affiliated network, GCN Live, on which the Alex Jones Show airs, also had its servers penetrated and completely eviscerated the same day, with Infowars streaming servers also being knocked offline. GCN’s servers are still offline after a sustained and sophisticated attack that was certain to have been a deliberate hack. As in the case of the FreedomWorks attack, the server was professionally targeted, this was not merely a denial of service issue.

The attack came in the aftermath of a hacker openly posting on You Tube how he planned to derail last week’s Infowars money bomb by illegally distributing denial of service software intended to crash the Infowars servers. Another You Tube user documented how the hacker tried to recruit him to help with the hack attack.

Alex Jones, Infowars and GCN have been vehement supporters of Tea Party candidates like Rand Paul and Sharron Angle.

The attack on FreedomWorks was carried out on the day after the Obama administration announced that the Pentagon would help Homeland Security conduct its cybersecurity strategy inside the United States.

Several respondents to the Wall Street Journal article blamed Democratic operatives for the hack attack.

“George Soros had something to do with this…he has been throwing his money around this week to take out anyone who is associated with the Tea Party,” wrote one.

“Look into the Tides Foundation, Media Matters, Moveon.Org, the NAACP and the DNC. They ALL should be raided today and investigated. Bet it comes from one of them or their fringe subs,” added another.

As we previously documented, the cybersecurity mantra has been exploited by Democrats before to target political websites in an effort to dissuade people from visiting them.

At the launch of the Obama administration’s cybersecurity agenda earlier this year, Democrats attempted to claim that the independent news website The Drudge Report was serving malware, an incident Senator Jim Inhofe described as a deliberate ploy “to discourage people from using Drudge”.

The timing of the FreedomWorks attack was crucial, right on the eve of the election and right at the start of a fund-raising campaign. To believe that this was anything other than a political ploy launched by ideological opponents of the Tea Party movement would be naive.

While we have gone to great lengths to point out how many elements of the Tea Party have been hijacked by Republicans, this once again reminds us of a slogan that Andrew Breitbart has become famous for using – Democrats and liberals don’t play fair – rather than engage in a fair debate on a level playing field they almost always resort to dirty tricks to shut down free speech.

Expect to see many more Tea Party websites targeted as the Obama administration intensifies its cybersecurity power grab, which as we have documented, and as its proponents have even admitted, amounts to nothing less than an underhanded ploy to seize control over the world wide web and create a Chinese-style system of Internet policing.

In UK, every email and website to be stored by government

Every email, phone call and website visit is to be recorded and stored after the Coalition Government revived controversial Big Brother snooping plans.

It will allow security services and the police to spy on the activities of every Briton who uses a phone or the internet.

Moves to make every communications provider store details for at least a year will be unveiled later this year sparking fresh fears over a return of the surveillance state.

The plans were shelved by the Labour Government last December but the Home Office is now ready to revive them.

It comes despite the Coalition Agreement promised to "end the storage of internet and email records without good reason".

Any suggestion of a central "super database" has been ruled out but the plans are expected to involve service providers storing all users details for a set period of time.

That will allow the security and police authorities to track every phone call, email, text message and website visit made by the public if they argue it is needed to tackle crime or terrorism.

The information will include who is contacting whom, when and where and which websites are visited, but not the content of the conversations or messages.

Homeland Security and NSA to work together to defend cyber attacks

WASHINGTON — Computer experts at the secretive National Security Agency are teaming up with the Homeland Security Department in an effort to strengthen the nation's defenses against cyber attacks.

The partnership unveiled Wednesday raised concerns among civil liberties advocates, who say that safeguards are needed to ensure that the collaboration between the spy agency and Homeland Security does not wind up violating the privacy rights of U.S. citizens.

NSA and Homeland Security officials both said they are creating small teams that will work in the other agency's operations centers, a move designed to help them share lawfully gathered intelligence and provide Homeland Security faster access to the NSA's broad technical expertise.

The collaboration is a move to help the U.S. guard against the growing threat of cyber attacks against government and private computer networks. U.S. government and private networks are increasingly under attack by hackers and other cyber criminals.

The officials said the plan will include increased oversight by legal and privacy professionals to insure that individuals rights are protected. But privacy officials said the new relationship must be watched closely, including by outside watchdogs.

"The National Security Agency has traditionally pulled computer security into the realm of secrecy and surveillance," said Marc Rotenberg, executive director of the Washington-based Electronic Privacy Information Center. "There is a great need to insure that the NSA's tools for surveillance are not directed at the American public."

Cyber security expert James Lewis, a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said there was an initial reluctance within DHS and on Capitol Hill to move forward with the plan, with some suggesting it would be better to build the cyber expertise within Homeland Security.
