Since at least January of this year, billionaire George Soros has been calling for the West to invest 50 billion euros of aid in Ukraine, to stabilize the country and to undermine Russian influence in the region.
Earlier this week, he announced that he would be willing to contribute $1 billion to that fund, if Western governments agree to pay for the rest.
“Ukraine is defending the EU from Russian aggression” and helping its development will weaken Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Hungarian-born philanthropist said in remarks published in German by the Austrian business daily Der Standard. To those who aren’t familiar with the tactics of the financial elite, this probably looks a lot like charity. After all, Ukraine is a broken nation and no sane investor would willingly put their money there, and expect to see a profit. Their GDP is expected to decline 7.6% this year, and there’s no telling when their economy will truly bottom out. On the surface, it looks like he is just giving his money away in the hopes that he can prop up a struggling nation. How nice of him?
He said Ukraine needed 50 billion euros to get itself back on its feet, and said he was prepared to pump $1 billion (922 million euros) into agriculture and infrastructural projects.
Ukraine is at the edge of bankruptcy hit by the triple whammy of the war in its industrial east, a deep economic recession and the record devaluation of its currency. Its public debt likely to reach 94 percent of its GDP in 2015.
Soros said his investments “should make a profit”, which would go to his foundation rather than him personally.
ZAKARIA: First on Ukraine, one of the things that many people recognized about you was that you during the revolutions of 1989 funded a lot of dissident activities, civil society groups in eastern Europe and Poland, the Czech Republic. Are you doing similar things in Ukraine?Of course, his efforts go a little deeper than that. After the interview, Infowars wrote an analysis of Soros’ involvement in the “democratization” of Ukraine that really puts things in perspective.
SOROS: Well, I set up a foundation in Ukraine before Ukraine became independent of Russia. And the foundation has been functioning ever since and played an important part in events now.
It is well-known, although forbidden for the establishment media to mention, that Soros worked closely with USAID, the National Endowment for Democracy (now doing work formerly assigned to the CIA), the International Republican Institute, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, the Freedom House, and the Albert Einstein Institute to initiate a series of color revolutions in Eastern Europe and Central Asia following the engineered collapse of the Soviet Union. So, basically, Soros played a key role in the overthrow of Ukraine’s government, and now that their nation is on the brink of collapse, he’s prepared to dump a billion dollars into their infrastructure. There’s no telling how much money he will make from this deal if it goes through. He helped bring that country to its knees, and now he gets to buy up their assets for pennies on the dollar.
“Many of the participants in Kiev’s ‘EuroMaidan’ demonstrations were members of Soros-funded NGOs and/or were trained by the same NGOs in the many workshops and conferences sponsored by Soros’ International Renaissance Foundation (IRF), and his various Open Society institutes and foundations. The IRF, founded and funded by Soros, boasts that it has given ‘more than any other donor organization’ to ‘democratic transformation’ of Ukraine,” writes William F. Jasper.
And I already know what the naysayers will claim. “But he said that the profits aren’t going to him! It’s going into one of his foundations, and he won’t be making any money from this.” To that I would say, money is power, and it doesn’t necessarily need to go into your personal bank account to enrich your status.
If he’s using his non-profits to overthrow governments, then putting that money into these foundations still gives him more power. He’s still profiting from this endeavor, and he’s still furthering his elitist agenda. It just costs him less since he won’t be paying any taxes on the profits of this investment.
It’s time for every developing nation to take notice, and act accordingly. When you let these “charities” and NGOs operate in your country, you’re signing your death warrant, and setting your people up for political and economic slavery.
