On Monday we heard the (not so) shocking news; Rep. Weiner was lying for days to the mass media and to the world about being hacked on his Facebook / Twitter page. And, there is more to come ...
REP. ANTHONY WEINER, D-N.Y.:
Last Friday night, I Twitted a photograph of myself that I intended to send as a direct message as part of a joke (right) to a woman in Seattle. Once I realized I posted to Twitter I panicked, I took it down and said that I had been hacked. I then continued with that story, to stick to that story which was a hugely regrettable mistake.
To be clear, the picture was of me and I sent it. I’m deeply sorry for the pain this has caused my wife Huma and our family. And my constituents, my friends, supporters and staff. While most in the country and on the web believe this is all much to do about nothing (helped by the unwavering liberal / progressive media support for Rep. Johnson er, ...Weiner), I see this whole mess as an example of future events in involving “National Security” and the New Bin Laden style “bogeyman”. Primarily, the opportunity to use a false flag cyber attack to crack down on Internet reporters by using a doctrine scribed for years now. The Internet Patriot Act. (see below)
Tony Weiner was incredibly stupid in his actions, leaving traces so huge er, massive, that Andy Brietbart could drive a F-150 through it, and we are told the worst pictures are yet to … ahhh “appear”. Instead of throwing Tony under a bus, WHAT IF the US Govt, along with CIA-Book (Facebook) or TWITter et al, sought to cover this up, and protect Mr Weiner? Who would know?
A few I.T. guys, and an agent? A small compartmentalized cadre of plumbers?
In fact, it would have been quite easy to turn this whole mess into a “False Flag” Cyber Attack!
Unfortunately for Weiner, he had enemies in high places. Like the IMF’s maid-humping Dominique Strauss-Kahn, or Der Gropenfuhrer, Ahnold Kennedy Schwarzenegger….Weiner was hung ... er, put out to dry.
In the future, if the US Security (Control) Sector wanted to crash a segment of their systems on purpose, or even just tell us that “our” computer infrastructure was attacked…who could really prove it?
Wouldn’t we just have to take their word for it?
The total takeover, policing, and over-regulating of the free Web is likely to be a long process, unless there were an Internet Pearl Harbor. Sound familiar?
From the Project for a New American Century doc (PDF):
While the unresolved conflict with Iraq provides the immediate justification, the need for a substantial American force presence in the Gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein …
the process of [military] transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event – like a new Pearl Harbor …
… advanced forms of biological warfare that can 'target' specific genotypes may transform biological warfare from the realm of terror to a politically useful tool.' – Rebuilding America’s Defenses, September 2000, Project for a New American Century -- signed by Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, Jeb Bush, Richard Perle, Scooter Libby, et al.Remember The USA PATRIOT Act Was Planned Before 9/11.
We helped break the I-Patriot Act story in 2008: Internet Censorship: The i-Patriot Act Waiting To Be Implemented?:
Lawrence Lessig, who is a respected law professor for Stanford University told an audience at a tech conference that there was going to be a i-911 event that would spur the implementation of patriot act laws for online, which he calls i-Patriot Act.
At 4 minutes and 30 seconds into the video below, Lessig describes the details of a plan supposedly already written up, planned and waiting to be implemented should some 'cyber-terror' attack hit the Internet.
Lessig spoke at the Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech conference in Half Moon Bay, California, in 2008, and he told the audience 'There’s going to be an i-9/11 event which will act as a catalyst for a radical reworking of the law pertaining to the Internet.'
He also claims that he spoke to the former government Counter Terrorism Czar Richard Clarke and he found out that the Justice Department was waiting for a cyber terrorism event that would be the catalyst for implemented the 'cyber equivalent ' of the Patriot Act, to which Lessig nicknamed the i-Patriot Act.
He further claims that the Patriot Act, that was implemented 20 days after the 9/11 attack on the United States, had been sitting in a drawer for 20 years waiting for an attack of that magnitude and that is how it was ready to implemented that soon after the actual attack.
Another statement attributed to Lessig from the conference is as follows:
'Of course, the Patriot Act is filled with all sorts of insanity about changing the way civil rights are protected, or not protected in this instance. So I was having dinner with Richard Clarke and I asked him if there is an equivalent, is there an i-Patriot Act just sitting waiting for some substantial event as an excuse to radically change the way the internet works. He said, “of course there is”.'
Lessig alleges that just as the Patriot Act had been sitting in a drawer for all those years, waiting to be implemented, that the cyber equivalent is also already prepared and waiting for an Internet attack of such a magnitude that it would have to be implemented just as the Patriot Act was.
He also provides examples showing that even without the implementation of the i-Patriot Act, there is already legislation to create an IP czar at the Department of Justice and to enforce intellectual property rights. (which we are witnessing now)Though Weiner’s attempts to blame his dalliances on a “hacker” were at best futile (one has to believe that he was told to say this and he would be aided by necessary powers that be to back him up – insert hard drive joke here), the US media seemed all to happy to play along until “hard” evidence was produced. Even then, we would have been told of “photoshop” conspiracies, that would make Bin Laden roll in his wave.
Minimally, all of this should be considered, in at least some small respect, to be a shot over the bow. If this had happened to say…Sen. Jay Rockefeller (who has worked tirelessly to implement laws for the Web) well…let's just say that WE would ALL be suspects. A patsy would be produced, and laws would be rolled out that week to “protect our civil servants and the Children”.
Of course, what it comes down to is just yet another example of professional hubris on the part of our selected public officials who think they are above the law, and whom never live by the laws, standards, and morals that the rest of us are constantly browbeaten with at election time. In other words, do as we say not what we do.
To add insult (and there are so many possibilities) to injury…
Weiner is a sponsor of a bill called, The Kids (Keeping the Internet Devoid of Sexual Predators) Act. This bill was intended to brand those accused of Internet stalking, suggesting that offenders IP’s be registered, marked, and tracked. It also suggests that offenders be tracked by GPS. The bill also lays out a number of self-imposed rules such as: Don’t behave on the Web in any way that you wouldn’t behave in person etc. This colossal hypocrite broke every stinking “rule” contained in his own bill. And, although he’s damaged goods, (even easier to control) there is no indication that Rep. Weiner will be forced to resign his position as U.S. Congressman. (What other skeletons are in his closet that could be used to blackmail him, by the enemies of our Republic????)
The fact that Mr. Weiner is a rabid Rothschild Globalist should save him, at least in the short term, or until a LOYAL replacement can be lined up.
The best “solution” for all of this is for WE THE PEOPLE to create and form our own back-up Internet that can be summoned the moment the current one is no longer a useful tool for Freedom, and open communication. This can be strung server-to-server like a group of "Pirate" radio stations. For all of our sakes, I hope that you are planning that now.
In the mean time, all dick jokes aside (Bill Hicks would have had a field day with this), let’s stay focused on defending free speech on the Web, and together we can keep it the Wild West that it is. Though dangerous because of weirdos like Weiner and his ilk, I will accept the risk. Freedom is never “free”. Security is just an illusion.
