Eccentric Perspective

What if I told you in absolute sincerity and seriousness that there was a way to get rid of the I.R.S. easily and quietly overnight without anyone getting hurt in the process?

Sound too good to be true? It’s not! But we can’t get there if you want to sit on the sidelines hoping someone else is going to do all the work for you. That means you will have to at least get briefly involved; but I promise it only requires a very small bit of time and action on your part. Does that still sound like too much effort and responsibility? Click this hyperlink and have a wonderful day! But if 40 minutes of time and a few mouse clicks seems like a reasonable enough request to avoid ever having to deal with the dreadful, stress-inducing task of tax season ever again, then please keep reading…

It was a little over two years ago when I had this vision that I was going to make one hundred DVD copies of a documentary that I liked which did a fantastic job of exposing the fraud of the I.R.S. However, as much as I wanted to imagine myself taking a tax day activist stand, my plan never ended up transpiring.

Last year however, was a much bigger deal in regards to tax day, because not only was it an election year, but tax day also became a prime target of a quickly growing new “third” political party. So did I join the Tea Party and run around protesting and distributing these movies last year then?

Negative. I honestly did plan to at least drive near one of the protests and check it out, but to make a long story short; I ended up having to work. Now I’m sure I could have gotten out of it if I tried, but what do you want me to say? I guess I just didn’t want to voice out my frustrations to the system badly enough. Although I still regret that decision to an extent, at least I’m glad my absence didn’t cause me to miss something truly epic that night, because I would have had to live with the fact that by notbeing there, I deserved to miss it. (Careful, ‘epic‘ hyperlink leads to major spoiler for those that haven’t seen the movie; V for Vendetta. Still haven’t seen the movie? Click here for the trailer).

So, did I do something really extra super special in appreciation of tax day this year?

Not at all. Between my day job and the website I just started, tax day activism wasn’t even on my radar. In fact I didn’t even file until the last minute…

But just because I missed the “deadline” this year, doesn’t mean I should just sit on the idea for another eleven months! In fact, I think it could be argued that it might actually be better to start an activist protest right now instead! I mean, what would be the most effective way to “get the word out” anyway? Should I frantically run around next April trying to inform everyone at the last minute by distributing videos they might not have time to watch anyway? Wouldn’t it be better to start informing people much farther in advance, theoretically leading to a calm, informed, and peaceful non-compliance on tax day 2012 instead? Regardless of what the best approach should be, I think I’m finally ready to help do my part in waking up the people to the massive illegal racketeering fraud that the I.R.S. has been perpetuating on the American people for far too long…

I can attribute many of my “I.R.S. activism imaginings” to a time a few years ago when I saw a film titled “America: From Freedom to Fascism,” by Aaron Russo. If you’re not familiar with Aaron, I’m willing to bet that you’ve probably seen some of his work as a producer, most notably the iconic comedy; “Trading Places.”

Although Aaron had a successful career in Hollywood; as he got older, he became much more political. And that road eventually led to the creation of this fantastic documentary exposing one of the most feared and mysterious institutions in all of human history; the dreaded I.R.S…
