While addressing the Nevada state legislature on Tuesday, Majority Senate leader Harry Reid (D-NV) proposed outlawing prostitution in Nevada, claiming that it is driving away investors and families.

Reid said, "Nevada needs to be known as the first place for innovation and investment, not as the last place where prostitution is still legal. When the nation thinks about Nevada, it should think about the world's newest ideas and newest careers, not about its oldest profession."

Reid, a Mormon, who is portrayed as pure-as-they-come because he doesn't drink alcohol or coffee, may be the worst type of hypocrite -- one who claims righteousness to attract votes, while forcing corporate-government tyranny at the behest of lobbyist throughout his career.  Ironically, he learned to swim in a brothel pool according to his 2008 memoir The Good Fight.

Between 2005-2010, Reid has been one of the largest recipients of corporate campaign contributions in all of Congress.  According to Open Secrets, Reid raised nearly $25 million ($5 million per year) during this time period.

It's no surprise who Reid is really working for when his booming campaign fund-raising business dwarfs his $193,400 annual public salary.  Reid voted for the Patriot Act and the wars.  He was instrumental in structuring the TARP bailout and banker stimulus bill, as well as the unconstitutional healthcare giveaway to insurance companies and Big Pharma -- just to name a few of his freedom-smashing taxpayer rapings.

Dirty Harry is using the excuse that prostitution is to blame for Nevada's fading economy to further legislate morality.  Charlie Sheen may argue the opposite is the case with more success.  Whether legal or not, prostitution occurs in every corner of the world.  And in many places where it's legal, it has no negative effect on society or the economy.  In fact, it can be debated that the outlawing of prostitution only makes the inevitable practice far more dangerous for all involved.

As Reid said himself:  prostitution is the oldest known profession.  No matter how we may feel about prostitution, morally, it can be viewed as one of the ultimate individual liberties -- the right to do what we want with our bodies.  Incidentally, prostitution should be decriminalized nationally, not restricted further.  Reid is one of the lobbyist pimp's favorite sluts in Congress, but the only thing he screws are the American people.
