EADS and BAE Systems discuss merger to create world’s largest defense and security group

Two large defense contractors, BAE Systems plc and European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company N.V. (EADS), are currently negotiating a potential merger which would create by far the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, dwarfing even the behemoth American war profiteers like Lockheed Martin, Northrup Grumman and Boeing.

According to Defense Update, BAE Systems and EADS would actually operate under “a dual listed company structure” under which they would both be operating as one group while still being listed separately on exchanges.

The companies stated that certain defense activities could be ringfenced (financially separated) in accordance with agreements with governments, the United States of America in particular, due to their strategic and national security importance and due to “the importance of that market [the USA] to the enlarged group.”

US, UK, NATO, Saudi, and Israeli backed terrorists carrying out a campaign of systematic atrocities in Syria have finally been acknowledged and reported on by Human Rights Watch, who has for nearly 2 years intentionally portrayed the conflict as one-sided violence carried out by the Syrian government alone.

With evidence and admissions emerging that the so-called "Syrian rebels" are in fact Libyan terrorists, armed, funded, and flown in by NATO to cross into Syria and attack government troops, organizations like Human Rights Watch have faced deteriorating legitimacy, even with watered-down admissions like their most recent report titled, "Syria: End Opposition Use of Torture, Executions." In the report, Human Rights Watch admits that "armed opposition groups have subjected detainees to ill-treatment and torture and committed extrajudicial or summary executions in Aleppo, Latakia, and Idlib."

Much of the torture described by Human Rights Watch involves obtaining false confessions by victims, admitting tat they are "shabeeha" militia men. The Western media has long excused terrorists operating in Syria for their atrocities, claiming that the victims were "suspected" shabeeha. It now appears, as was suspected all along, these victims were innocent, and the Western press, the BBC and CNN in particular, were complicit in covering up egregious crimes against humanity.

The 2nd District Court of Appeals has just granted a temporary stay of Judge Katherine Forrest's injunction against the NDAA. Since May, Judge Forrest had prevented the NDAA from being used anywhere in the world. Now, the NDAA is back in full effect, bringing with it the Law of War.

Military law, as authorized under the NDAA, grants you no Constitutional rights whatsoever.

There is no First Amendment rights in the Law of War There are no 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th Amendment rights in the Law of War. The Law of War is anathema to our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and everything America stands for.

Thanks to the Appeals Court, we again have military law in America.

On ABC’s “This Week”, George Will, columnist for the propaganda news outlet Washington Post, spoke out against Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve and his decision to instill QE3 which is essentially, “the government printing money.” Will pointed out that this latest move is covert “trickle-down economics” where citizens are forced to invest in equities in order to continue to prop up the economy to perpetuate the false sense of reality the American public lives under.

Last week, Bernanke announced that the Fed would purchase $40 billion per month in toxic assets called mortgage-backed securities. While this scheme will devastate the US dollar’s value by the very act of printing more money, there is a secret bailout of certain financial institutions occurring under the radar.

QE3 serves as a “regressive redistribution program” for the banksters who are enjoying a surge in their wealth under current economic conditions.

The Federal Housing Finance Administration (FHFA) recently announced that “strategic defaulters”, i.e. those homeowners who have abandoned their mortgage because they could not continue to make the monthly payments will be jailed for this “crime”.

In France where people are sent to jail for "Holocaust denial," considered by law a religious hate crime, it seems strange then that well-timed, raunchy cartoons designed solely to insult and inflame hate against and amongst Muslims worldwide would be defended vigorously by French politicians who claim, according to the Christian Science Monitor, that "freedom of the press should not be infringed."

With Neo-Conservative warmongers behind a recent inflammatory film titled, The Innocence of Muslims, and their counterparts amongst radical sectarian extremists leading violent protests across the Middle East and North Africa, it would almost seem as if the publication of insulting cartoons by a French paper, "Charlie Hebdo," was part of a grander strategy to create a manufactured conflict between Islam and the West, setting the stage for more overt military operations to take over faltering covert operations in Syria and beyond.

Are the makers of energy drinks purposefully misleading consumers about their benefits and ingredients? That’s what New York’s attorney general is hoping to find out. According to the Wall Street Journal, AG Eric T. Schneiderman issued subpoenas to PepsiCo Inc., the maker of Monster energy drinks and more.

The documents asked the corporate giant to submit information on their marketing practices. But given the beverages’ damage-causing capabilities, it isn’t surprising to see energy drinks in the negative spotlight once again.

These energy drinks can be found just about anywhere. They are marketed to teens and young adults as a societal trend, as well as the modern adult who is very active. The Fed on Thursday said it would pump $40 billion into the U.S. economy each month until it saw a sustained upturn in the weak jobs market.

Military Industrial Empire Thrives on Turmoil

You can call it karma or blowback, whatever makes you happy. The bottom line is that what America is now facing both internationally and domestically is all due to being a military industrial empire. The protesters in the streets overseas are in countries that most of us here at home would have difficulty finding on a map, for goodness sake!

The majority of those folks are not out there because of some inflammatory YouTube film. Perhaps the ultra fanatical Islamists may wish to have that the rallying point of the protests … to then better control their fellow citizens. No, the film most likely unleashed centuries-old rage and frustration with the United States’ imperial designs.

I mean, just how stupid do you think most hard working foreigners are … regardless of skin color, nationality or educational level? Our nation bombs the hell out of their homes and villages. We send our military to occupy their country, or those of neighboring ones, and install puppet governments. American and European corporations operate offshore in these places, sometimes with local surrogates, and they exploit the working stiffs. Plain and simple.

Why Privacy Matters Even if You Have 'Nothing to Hide'

When the government gathers or analyzes personal information, many people say they're not worried. "I've got nothing to hide," they declare. "Only if you're doing something wrong should you worry, and then you don't deserve to keep it private."

The nothing-to-hide argument pervades discussions about privacy. The data-security expert Bruce Schneier calls it the "most common retort against privacy advocates." The legal scholar Geoffrey Stone refers to it as an "all-too-common refrain." In its most compelling form, it is an argument that the privacy interest is generally minimal, thus making the contest with security concerns a foreordained victory for security.

The nothing-to-hide argument is everywhere. In Britain, for example, the government has installed millions of public-surveillance cameras in cities and towns, which are watched by officials via closed-circuit television. In a campaign slogan for the program, the government declares: "If you've got nothing to hide, you've got nothing to fear." Variations of nothing-to-hide arguments frequently appear in blogs, letters to the editor, television news interviews, and other forums. One blogger in the United States, in reference to profiling people for national-security purposes, declares: "I don't mind people wanting to find out things about me, I've got nothing to hide! Which is why I support [the government's] efforts to find terrorists by monitoring our phone calls!"

The argument is not of recent vintage. One of the characters in Henry James's 1888 novel, The Reverberator, muses: "If these people had done bad things they ought to be ashamed of themselves and he couldn't pity them, and if they hadn't done them there was no need of making such a rumpus about other people knowing."
